TOTALLY RANDOM POST II

I'm somewhat of a packrat sometimes for important documents. Thank goodness.

Thus it was when the hospital where my botched cancer surgery was done, pulled some illegal billing practices a year and a half ago, and was billing for items already paid for, complicated by our insurance company pulling payments and re-shuffling things.

None the less, we'd paid for services per statements, which is a form of contract; "I'm giving you 'x' amount of money for 'y' service." To change that allocation without our consent is ILLEGAL as a motherfucker. The word 'fraud' comes to mind.

Today I received an email notice that we have a bill past due from April 2021, for $25. Never mind that they've been told repeatedly that we deal only with itemized statements with specific dates and types of service identified, and only after they've cleared comparison to our EOBs from our insurance do they get paid.

This bill, by the way,. was added to our account within the last month or so, but dated for April 2021.. Peculiar, eh?

Our credit rating is stellar. We honor our (legitimate) debts; period!

I have correspondence I retained, via email, with their then-head honcho in billing, apologizing for the clusterfuck they made of our billing and telling me/us that after the first of that year (what would've been January 2022; over a year ago now), our account would be zeroed for anything up until August of 2021.

The date for this erroneous redundant bill for shit they were already paid for is April 2021, as stated.

I and my wife also have flow-charts and spread sheets showing each and every explanation of benefits from our/my insurance provider, correlated to specific bills from the hospitals/clinics, and receipts for cashed/received payments. that would make Wall St. either nervous or scared.

Tomorrow morning's discussuion with who ever is now in charge of that billing department, after sharing the previous corresponsdence and our complete related records, will include the final question, "Which State Attorney General's Office of Consumer Fraud would you like to be reported to first?"

I have to remind these heathen scumbags all too routinely, "I'm the patient. Why am I doing your job for you? I will renew my former business license, if soley for the benefit of back-charging you $50/hour every time I have to do your fucking job for you... And yes, we keep records.. Frighteningly accurate records. Now hurry up and get your records corrected before this gets any bigger than it needs to."

Next!!!

The billing people at the hospital zeroed out all of their fabricated numbers after reading them the riot act yesterday AM. They marked them all as 'discounted.'

Trouble being, they were fabricated numbers to begin with. They 'discounted' nothing but numbers representing predatory billing practices.

So they get a write-off by zeroing balances that didn't exist in the first place??

I think at this point, having had to joust with these fuckers way too many times, it would benefit not only us, but other 'victims' of this nonsense, to go ahead and report them to JCAH and the Washington State AG's Office of Consumer Fraud, zeroed accounts or not.

Too many, too much, too often. Time for them to answer some official questions, I think.

i get tired and toss the Sudoku Pacific away sometimes for the same reason.
Cross word puzzles are little more than a younger person's passive-aggressive assault, representing their outright disrespect for their elders. I just smack them in the cheek with a stout back-hand when they present such things, especially when they feign hospitality with the gesture..

The flight attendants and medical receptionists often take that personally, but I figure that's what they're paid for.

Em-I-right?!

I cheat when I have to succumb to such things, keeping several people near their cell phones on life-lines, a colleciton of old Encyclopedia Britanicas in alphabetical order, a collegiate thesaurus, and a huge Oxford Dictionary.

I'm bullet-proof, right up until my mind goes blank, and I forget how to research stuff or dial the phone..
