Thought it was a monstrose lophocereus! I seem to be drawn to all the genetic freaks of the cactus and succulent world for some reason. I'm jealous!
pretty much anything that drains well will work but typically the mixes are composed of compost,sharp sand,pumice or scoria or sometimes lava rock crushed fine.typically succulents need very little nitrogen in the mix as it tends to produce weak growth,indeed too much organic matter in general is a bad thing for many succulents.Uncle, I'm just getting into collecting aloes and I'm unfamiliar with the sort of soil requirements for them. I'd like to make my own.
