I like sats for the daylight and indis for going to sleep, so I guess I gotta keep making both kinds of stash:)

I am in the SAME predicament...

But keeping this mom alive just for head stash can be a pain.

She is so lanky and doesn't like to share space with others... You Sat lovers know how these Divas are!

But she is FIRE to me!

Perhaps some people never develop enough tolerance to really appreciate a Sativa...

But at the same time, and as mentioned before, some folks report not even getting high!

Shame!

So much in life to enjoy being sharply lucid!

Is the trend towards Stonier Indicas related to the rampant abuse of opiates?

Do most people prefer to just fade away???

Gentlemen... please Gentlemen... Before we organize a lynching crew and head for the closest frat house... we must ponder and decide...

Where to hit FIRST!

I'd go for the shins... they fall and stump! LOL

But yes...

Frustration is rampant!

Isn't it more that the Sativa's yield less and take longer to harvest? Everyone is trying to maximize profit.

Right on the money!

To enjoy your weed, growing a Sativa (especially those with a 10+ week flowering) would be the best bet. Indica can compare, but some Sativa's blow the Indica's completely out of the water but are not looked at as heavily because of the commercial time for people to grow (8 weeks or less) and have the heaviest budding trees for profit.

Indica and hybrids are the new thing because it's all about the money. Keep the plants short, bushy, heavy with nugs, and low flowering time. That's a commercial growers dream!

I like both, but my climate(must be done by Oct 20) doesn't allow the growing of good sativas. I have a good personal strain that is 75% Indica/25% Sativa. The THC levels aren't mind blowing, but the CBN levels must be quite low because the high is mellow and somewhat clear, and it won't make you tired or dull(if you smoke more than enough, you can eventually get a Indica stone). My father put this strain together, from exotic bag seed in the 70s, his favorite weed was Thai, Colombian, and Hawaiian.

But I'd like to be able to grow something outdoors here that is electric, like Haze or one of the many Haze crosses. I've got C99, but I can only get the heart racing high in some plants indoors, outdoors I've never quite got the racing high.

I'll get what I'm looking for someday....................

Interesting thread, ojorojo. say what you want, but market is king, and at least in SoCali, stony indicas rule. Why you say? Well, i don't think it is because of opiate pill use increases, but rather, they are both symptoms of the same thing: people are highly strung, tense, anxious and freaked out for many reasons, including the current economy and the way our American culture puts so much pressure on people. So they get done with their work, and they want to be floored--drunk, stoned on indica, or in a opiate daze, anything to get mellow. Thus, INDICA POWER. Personally, i used to smoke C99, Trainwreck and Schrom all the time, all totally wired sativas, when I started growing. But after a few years, i found i preferred the way the Bubba, Master and other Kush-style indicas made me feel. I smoke pot all day, and i think once you get your tolerance up, it is actually the indicas you seek out--they are no longer as couchy when you smoke'em all the time, just relaxing. That's why you have hardcore smokers saying "sativas don't get me high", since the sativas are missing the heavy body so the high seems incomplete to them. If i smoke a sativa these days, i feel more anxious and super starving, and very much not mellow, so i generally avoid them unless i specifically want to trip out and be wired. And clearly, i am not alone.

I understand the point about climate and growing conditions favoring hybrids over sativas and totally agree with you guys.

But, have you given the Pepsi challenge to folks just to discover they prefer the Indica?

Going as to say... doesn't get me "high"?

Your assessment is very valid. I've experience some of the same side-effects after becoming MMJ patient and indulging in the cookie jar.

I also have a NL#5 x Blueberry which I treasure for medical reasons.

But could never use during the day...

Ummm.... maybe baby puffs... LOL

P.S. A nice Sativa beats Viagra by far!

I don't like many sativas cause they often cause muscle cramping and insomnia for me.

True!

And if I don't have any other option I have to go "over" and wait for the stoney side to show...

But the first part of the ride is somewhat uneasy when all you want is to rest and have some relief.
