the whole thing sucked from begining to end,1st i was over charged for the only bike i could afford a gt labamba,it was the compete opposite from what i needed, the geometry was completley wrong, well thatcombo almost got my neck broke.and right now i have about 3-4 large dark purple/black bruises and all sorts of road rash and andfor somreason its very tough to raise my right arm this is because i couldnt afford the body armor and now i know why they use it.
so after returning it i find out it goes through a inspection for frame damage,my rims where WARPED almost beyond repair,i barley got out of there.

in conclusion if i ever go again ill be well prepaired with money for the proper equipment, but if enyone is intrested its a very nice proffesional operation they have, dont let my experience scare you off.

i added these so you can see what i was riding and the bikes everone else had.

Damn that sux to hear bro. Ya you where setup for failure with that bike you were riding. You need a serious DH rig (like the one you have pictured to the right) to attempt that stuff. Hope you have a better time when you go back. Good to hear your alive though :D

Awesome thread--glad to see some riders on board here. I rode a Klein Palomino with Maverick DUC32 fork, all tricked out, for five years (raced Super D for a couple seasons). Just had it stolen a month ago...still bummed about that.

My temporary gear should arrive tomorrow; going to ride an old hard tail for the rest of this season and pick up a new Maverick Durance when they're released this fall.

Amazing trails out here in Oregon; I have the Oregon State University research forest in my back yard--7500 acres of killer trails. Good dope, great trails, and big trees: what more could a person ask for, right?

Just rode some narrow single-track full of palm roots and fallen trees on a fixed/monstercross/conversion this afternoon. Planning pedal strokes, log crossings and even simple jumps made my home trail like a new, much more challenging beast. It was a blast.
I think I'm over the 29er thing for now, Ive got some 650b wheels on the way and will give them a shot on one of my hardtails. Anybody else riding 650B's?
