I am not terribly optimistic. The far right seems to have his ear and that isn't good for cannabis. Best case is it remains a state issue.

If Tump actually does the governening it maybe good for cannabis, but from his behavior, and lack of any experience, I suspect mike pence will be the acting president even more so than Cheney was to Bush jr. Trump seems to be there for the purpose of marketing and merchandising his campaign. To him this was just a business move, and he could careless about governing. Which could be very bad for cannabis.

This has been tried many times, but people don't realize it because fascism is always described as something new and different. The rhetoric and signs are always the same though. This is why the protection of the California government and legalization in our state is vital. The entire California government has signed a letter and sent it to trump declaring that we will not back down on any of our progressive policy or laws, and will protect the people no matter what. Even if federal funding is cut. Basically it was a polite fuck you yo the federal government, and their threats.

You know, if you lower the bar enough (low expectations--as in "Trump will not do shit")...and then when he does something (even if it is mediocre)...everyone will rave and say "wow, we never expected that" (increasing his status).

Whereas if you expect "perfection" and "excellence" (high expectations--as in "Trump will deliver what he promised")...but then he does the same mediocre thing described above...everyone will complain and say "shit, my mama could have done a better job than that" (decreasing his status in the eyes of the public).

Just saying...why set one's self for "failure". Me, I expect "perfection"...and will complain as loud as I can if there is any mediocrity. We deserve the best--and gotta stop this minimum effort shit.

Pence is super conservative, 'family values', etc. If cannabis legalization has a bigger enemy, at least philosophically, than VP-elect and Indiana's outgoing Governor Mike Pence, I don't know who that would be.

Another question. Will Trump see cannabis as profitable item to boost earnings at his casinos in Nevada? If he wants to compete with the other casinos, he might have to fold, and also sell cannabis.

Most of the medical licenses went to a group of retired law enforcement and court employees. I am sure that will continue. Nevada has always been like that. The mob may have started it but the politicians perfected the skim.

The "evil" I was referring to in my Mae West quote related to people...not political system or ideology. But since you opened Pandora's Box, lets take your idea a step further.

So...what is facisim?

Well, it appears the current Prez (with his "pen and phone") decided to bypass Congress (elected lawmakers) and forced his brand of "ideology" when he signed Executive Orders imposing limitations on citizens, business and labor--all without public debate or opposition (very close to the definition of fascism, right?).

I think the biggest middle finger of this election was not from Governor Moonbeam, but from Trump when he won the election. It was the biggest "fuck you" in history.

Governor Moonbeam will make much noise and try to defend his brand of progressivism...but he will capitulate at the risk of losing Federal $$$. Never met a liberal that said no to Federal $$$.

Ya that makes sense. They know it is going interfere with their alcohol sales even if not in the casinos. However I think it is going to interfere with alcohol sales in California too.

Which raises another point. The lobbiests for alcohol corporations and prison guards unions are still extremely anti pot, and we must expect them to strike back at a federal level, since they are losing on a state level.
