Wow man! that's great
I started growing in coco about a month ago, I'd really like to see something like that...
Did you use rhizotonic or something similar to improve root growing? I've heard that it is very common to use regularly in coco.

Cheers

That's a winner if ever I saw one! I've never seen roots like that not even in my coco/perlite mix airpots.

Can you please explain how you make your tea exactly? Ratios etc

Also what is EWC and Great White? and just regular generic molasses? Hand watered?

As much info as possible pleeease! I want to make my own root porn! :)

No prob buddy.

4 gallons of water in a five gallon bucket. I use tap and let it sit for 24hrs to let chlorine dissipate.

Put four or five handfuls of earth worm castings (EWC) into a stocking and tie it into a knot.

One scoop of Great White beneficials by Plant Success.

One big tablespoon (30-45ml) of unsulphured molasses. I use Grandma's or whatever the grocery store has in stock. Just make sure it's unsulphured.

I put an aquarium heater in and wait until the water has reached at least 75, 77-80 is best.

Add your molasses first and stir until the molasses is completely broken down.

Add one scoop of Great White.

Tie the stocking around your air hose line, just above the airstone. Let your tea bubble for 24-36 hours.

You want enough air to create a turbulent, rolling action to the water.

You should see a foam or a brown film on top of the water...this is a good thing.

Enjoy brother~DN

Roots are looking great man!

Did you grow prior to using the ewc tea? If so how did the roots compare? How about before your started using coco, what did you use before and how did the roots compare?

Or asked another way,

Are you sure that's whats causing your awesome roots? Or is it a combo of the coco/ewc?

Hope ya show us the foliage up top as well!

Looks like your gonna have some monsters.

Wish ya the best.

I think it's a combination of the two. I've grown in just about every medium imaginable. The only thing that, for me, comes close to the roots in coco is DWC. I was wiped out by cyanobacteria in DWC a couple of times so I scrapped it. I wasn't using teas at the time but have since read that tea's will fix this problem in DWC so I'm thinking about doing a small test run with tea.

Bottom line...Tea FTW in any medium.

I'll snap some pics of the room soon...as soon as I find the charger for my camera lol!

All the best~DN

Thanks for the reply!

When you grew in dwc did you have a chiller? What were your usual water temps? I've heard of what you speak of, luckily I've never battled it. What usually causes a cyanobacteria outbreak?

I"m sure your top shots will be impressive, if the roots are a sign of whats to come, and they usually are!

Keep on a cruising man!

Yep, chiller and all the bells and whistles to boot...water stayed at 66-68. I don't know what causes it or where it comes from but it is devastating to say the least. Google Heisenberg tea or Cyanobacteria. This will give you a complete breakdown of what to look for. I would suggest anyone to who is running DWC,...look into this. I've also heard good things about using IBA to battle root issues in DWC. I'll get to looking for my charger. I'm sure I'll find it before bud set occurs.

All the best~DN
