what i am saying is, i grow plants in mediums designed for horticultural use and not insulation, designed to insulate a house...even if they are both made of rockwool, there is a difference
so yes, i have never tried it, and if you end up doing so i honestly wouldnt use this thread as a reference point as they are two different things and will behave as such
What?
the next run has already been happening long ago, im running perpetually..just havent had the time to update the thread with pics, ill try to do that sooner than later..but i think one can learn more from words than from pics..so i try to add more info than pics..some people see pics only and dont bother to read anything so i dont want to influence that, and try to scare away those types of people with long paragraghs..to give you an example, ive had numerous people ask me if im running these plants in dwc, which shows the lack of attention and illiteracy , seeing how the thread is called "rockwool trees"
any friend of dyno is a friend of mine!
the points you circled in the pics are NOT root rot though...the large circle is a dead stem from a fan leaf..and all the others are either pieces of dirt or dead material that fell from the plant..no rot at all in that pic...i take alot of pride in my root health and i have never had root rot in this wool before, other than slightly on my very first run..to loose a crop with this wool from root rot there must have been some major issues...the main thing that attributes to a healthy root system is the fact i allow my wool to dry out between waterings , if you dont , theyll rot for sure without enough oxygen..that might slide in refined wool block but it wont in flock...i used to run hygrozyme and h202 everyonce in a while to prevent the birth of rot when i was still dialing in the wool..hygrozyme is great for bulk wool, if your not recirculating it..but lately ive cut both out and have the same root health as before..all the plants pictured including the one you posted were all grown without zyme, h202 or any sort of root stimulator, just good ol fashion proper watering techniques...this wool holds enough water that it NEEDS to be allowed to dry out...also running RO helps
if your running DTW, try adding hygrozyme @ 3ml per gallon, that will keep any rot at bay as long as theyre not always soaked
