Hey Hey Hey

I have to post some pics of my brethren's current crop now this man and I started growing schwag together from schwag reg seeds under floros with tin foil getting bad advice from self called gurus. We have come a long way bro and long long way from staring at those High Times in awe, now we are the front cover, we have had our different opinions on growing but always come back to similar thoughts.

Now I know he wants me to state that this is a %100 organic grow. Reeferman's Sour Diesel x OG Kush about to be harvested
smells very familiar but I just cant put my finger on it maybe the OG Kush x ABK or another, really impressive I must say! Man those Philly boys :rasta:

Thanks for the kind words everyone :rasta: , my boy is reading it all with his chest poked out, and has been lurking :lurk: for a while lol He is going to join in on the fun as soon as he harvests this batch he has that major paranoid flu that most of us have. Ya know he wants to wait until the soil is dumped out at some apartment complex before chiming in. I must speak for him and say he is very region oriented and loves all the good vibes being spread especially by those leading the pack.

RedNine-do you see many/any similarities in His Rman SDxOG to your JLP SDxOG, his smells very very similar to the wonderful FUCKEM OGXABK the OG stands out clearly, I cant wait to smoke this herb hopefully some will be dried enough in about a week hint hint.

A beautiful day in the neighborhood a beautiful day in the neighborhood :rasta:

Vin-Thanks for all the kind words once again bro but the funny thing is after having 20+ grows under our belts we still see ourselves as Pseudo Newbs, soo much information soo much knowledge out there; cant ever believe I will call myself a vet too much evolution within the genre. Believe me i stepped away for 9 months once and when I came back I felt as though I had lost 3 yrs. I still read read read this is such a passion even if it is a BS article that I know is wrong I will still read it just to hear it out. I love HT, CC, Skunk Mag, Heads Mag, and anything else out their spreading the word.

Man I had no Idea that The SD IBL stretches like that whoaa, I have the space and they are being treated well but I guess I need to do my research I didnt know she would stretch out like the Kali Mist and SSH, She will fill out though!

Yea,you can never know enough.I don't think people realise how good they have it.When I started growing,in the 80's,I would have loved a site like this.Or any site. All we had was a bunch of myths mostly. You learn a lot through trial and error though. Then we got a book,Marijuana Growers Handbook by Ed Rosenthal. It was a gift from the heavens.I got that in 87 and still reread sometimes.I thought I knew a lot. When I found this site I found out how much I didn't know.Together there is no stopping us.Here is a little Blue Cheese.

i think it was fall 95 when i finally finished with one female out of 10 plants
a bit taller than me at 6'3"
i got just over 2oz from that bagseed
i used a couple hightimes grow editions to help get me started
and compleatly ruined all my plants in the years before that
but i keep learning and getting better as the years pass

thats a nice cheesy pic amish
keep it green man

When I was in high school, people used to say that if you could find weed with red hairs on it, that meant it was really potent. Also, a male plant has 7 fingered leaves, but a female has 5. Maybe it was the other way around. Kinda funny, but people talked about this like they were master growers. I also remember being told about this new growing technique called hydroponics. It's grown completely under water. Funny now, but noone ever questioned why the buds weren't ruined from being submerged in water during growth.

My first successful crop was when I was 17. It was outdoors and I ended with 19 finished females. I planted about 50 seeds originally, and before they were 5" tall, they were all eaten by animals. After hauling in chicken wire, I fenced the plot in and replanted. That was some of the hardest work I've ever done in such a short time. I had to cut down trees, dig holes in root filled dirt, and haul lots of supplies and water on my hands and knees. I later learned to tie everything together with a rope, tie the rope around my waist and drag everything behind me as I went. It took me many years to get to the point where I'd rather smoke what I grew than anything I could buy. Amish, I totally feel what your saying about the lack of info back in the day. I remember driving to Philly because I heard there was a big bookstore that sold growbooks. I had the name of the store and took off for the city. I'd never been there before. I got downtown and pulled over and started asking people where the bookstore was. After some not so polite answers, or lack there of, I finally asked a cop. Wonder if he would have given me directions if he knew what I was buying, lol. That was in about 90.

When I first came across OG, I was amazed at how little I knew. I'm still amazed everytime I get a chance to browse this site. I'm an information whore, so that's one of the things I love so much about this hobby. Always something new to try;equiptment, strains, nutes, techniques, etc.

That's all for now, Long Live the Tri-State Crew!

I'm currently the closest I've been to a successful harvest, but since everyone's sharing their stories...

It was around '89 or '90, late teens. I found Rosenthal's Handbook and Clarke's Marijuana Botany (both from the 70's) in the school library. Popped a few seeds from a friend on a dare. After months under fluoros, I couldn't get 'em to flower. Never even showed preflowers. Totally clueless and with nowhere to turn, I threw it all away and forgot about it for years.

Found Overgrow one day and damn near crapped myself. Bought some real equipment and put up a few walls, but after a couple more failures, got discouraged.

Been reading IC for the last couple years and got inspired again. After months of serious research and some retooling, last night I pruned 5 bag seed fems and put them to flower. Hoping to see hairs in a few weeks.

The main reason why I've gotten this far this time is because of this site. I know a lot more than I did a few years ago, but I still don't know anything.

You folks here are a real inspiration. Thanks again to you guys who gave me a few words of encouragement. Hopefully I'll be able to share some bud porn in a few weeks. Anxious to represent the tristate in my own small way...

I did a couple of outdoor grows as a teen and actually had one really good harvest. I read over the years that folks were growing under fluoros, but had no idea how that was done, or how they were dealing w/scent control untill I found 420times.com and learned how stealthfuly MJ can be grown on any scale. I don't have any books, but I've read a lot of articles by Ed Rosenthall and others, and I haven't stopped reading and learning since. Rock on Tri-State!

lol. it was the school of mj d00d!

back in the late 80s, early 90s popped a bunch of bagseeds in a tin pan with outside dirt, ha. they actually sprouted in front of a window. about 40 of them got to about 4 inches tall with just the initial coty leaves, super stretchy, keeled over and died. that was it. figured it was done. the seeds were from that super dark green skunky smelling weed that was a bunch of twigs and fan leaves, with no visible trichomes, but it still messed you up pretty good.

gardening has always been my passion. even as a young kid <10 was messing with plants (tomato transplants from neighbors), and digging in the dirt outside, etc. not until i discovered overgrow, and had my own place many many moons later i decided to take a go with my saved bagseeds along side of my other house plants. first grow was failure because i couldn't contain odor, the entire basement reeked as if you threw dead skunk bleeding out on the center of the floor. and those 3 seedlings were only 6 inches tall, maybe about 18 days old. lol. trashed. experiment #2 over. and i smoked them little seedlings too, lol. this was back in 04 maybe. i'm losing track of time now. 2nd go was success 05, it was rough going, didn't keep clones or moms, but had a harvest. 3rd go was where i found this haze (pif maybe). and semi-mastering the bonsai mom keeping of her.

i think sites like this really help advance the knowledge of growing, and the more accepted use of cannabis by adults. many (like me) may not have even tried again if not for the inspiration of overgrow, this site and others. i think most who partake in this hobby probably like gardening in general (maybe secretly), and it's not all about the herb. it's about the creation of plant life, tending to it, and then enjoying the fruits of your labor, and watching others enjoy it too. the farming gene probably runs way back in your family tree, and if you were able to really go back and see, i bet other family members great great great great+ were also keepers of the sacred herb. nobody else in my immediate family has a gardening passion, but i found out i suffer from my great grandmothers plant growing sickness/disease/lol, who i never had a chance to meet. she lived in a different county altogether. it does get passed along somehow, i'm sure of it.

the real question is, are you the keeper of the herb, or is the herb using you as it's keeper?

keep it green

I've been growing the Jacks Cleaner II out for a yr now and its definitely great smoke. Check out my gallery for pics. Also I've seen amazing grows that have included his genetics all around. Querkle, Deep Purple, JillyBean, Vortex, Pandoras Box and Jacks Cleaner II are amongst the favorites. IMHO its worth the loot. I'm on a medsite that has them for 70$ a pack. Shine on Tristate.
