CBC stands for Cannabis Breeders Collective, was a swap friendly forum back in the times of Overgrow and Cannabis World. Its not that long ago, yet when most hybrids maintained their original names. OG and CW drop put lots of experienced ppl off internet.

Thank you Charlie, maybe you can help with these too:

namblack x ww/thai- from: cttg

(k x h) x k - from: DSM

CM sampler- from: castroman

Burmese x ww- from: Northwind

Malawi- from: Solo

do any of those names ring a bell? Northwind, Solo, cttg or DSM?

Gracias

CTG was a good friend from states
Castroman was a cuban great guy, so friendly, made the Cohiba, think were 3 sativas inside
Think Malawi could have been from the old African Seeds one
There was also an earlier private forum for swapping and have fun and so, cant remember well, SSC maybe. What I know is there were very nice people in those times

No hay de que, tocayo

cant remember stoner memory lol many names and nicks, was great and so friendly really
Maybe Seed Swap Club?¿ Not A
I liked always to send lots of landraces and also you could get great hybrids homemade or classic hybrids. The fems changed everything but overall, real hybrid names, maybe ppl started to name their cuts later cause I see kind of confusion today about genetic backgrounds. We are gonna reach more seed banks than customers lolol

I think the traditions of collecting and sharing the heirlooms should be practiced more.
An heirloom preservation collective.
But, can we truly keep what is by nature not to be kept? I say only if nature allows us.

Hola Amigo - Thanks for the PM

Hola Amigo - Thanks for the PM

Hi resin lung,

Thank you for the PM bro, been away awhile and just starting a new grow of thai genetics here and some PRed I crossed with Dalat. The seeds you have are very nice. They are made from seeds I grew out in 2002 and 2003. I was honored to become a part of CBC when I was a member of Seed Swap Club of which Charlie, Dubi, KK and many other fine growers were a part of. I live in So Cal so the weather here is perfect for long flowering sats and my interest was along the lines of finding the original Panama Red which I had back in the early 1970's.

I set about collecting specimens and working with others, such as KK, Charlie, Di Wee Dalat and others to grow out many specimens of the "Panama Red" beans I have. I still have not finished all of the ones I have. But in the past I was able to collect just about every specimen I have seen mentioned in OG, CW, Strainguide, CBC, SSC, and some donated from Charlie as well as others Doc Greenthumb, PRed x Very berry from Strain Guide, Doc Chronic had some. The original seeds I got from a grower in Panama, and also some 30 yr old beans from Rushman from Overgrow. The reward here is in the knowledge and learning of growing . The legend when it is found, or if it ever is will likely be a fluke if we are lucky. But the knowledge of the plant, and its rich history, the way genetics moved around the globe to get to Panama all these things are rewarding.

I have spread my genetics to Charlie, and friends of SSC, and other good friends, and to VC (RIP), and others always watching and only asking to see pics of the grow so I can watch the plants mature under different environments. Some will surely disagree with me, but I am not so sure that one of these original strains, (does PRed actually qualifies as a Landrace, which imnplies it is totally unique?) can be grown out as well as it can be in its native environment.

Cannabis has been around for thousands of years and circled the globe, it is one of the most adaptable plants there is. However, just because it survives and makes pretty bud porn, does not mean it is as potent or possesses the same taste, smell and cannabinoid profile as the original. Thats why I say it would be a lucky fluke if it does.

That said, I will try to get to my 50 posts so I can at least mail people. Thanks for growing these, and if you have any questions about ones I might have sent KK please fire away. Happy to help if I can.

Be well and stay safe

PS - (k x h) x k
I think is (KongxHaze) x Kong

Not sure about the namblack x ww/thai, might have been from leisurpuffr and possibly some of my Vietnamese Black, he crossed to WW/thai as well as to some of another close friend. Genetics were traded with both a number of the SSC and CBC guys.

I know that the Burmese was very near and dear to KKs heart as was his Redman Skunk. I had some RS with him when we met in Oakland on the 3rd floor.

Hola GG
your memory is better despite de years lolol ;) Now seriously is been always nice to swap seeds, to share info, to try and look for best from the roots and to hybridate the ones we liked it, at least, for refreshing bloods.. and best, make friends. We all have received so much 2 hands cant do alone. Your and others inspiration and generousity with Panaman for example allowed me and others to get into deeper selections but overall all info was up and there to know and do the best we can. Said other time we shouldnt ask others to do what we can do and to grow different lines is always so interesting and rich in many ways. Hardest part is to know how good lines are but for that we have to grow the seed. With respect many things could be done. Maybe todays is much harder due world and ppl changes but wished ppl managed to grow lots of sativas still, plenty of best of old times are gone forever and everyday happens, last decade genepool in Columbia has dropped a lot and most is substituted with hybrids. As far as they are not grown in natural place we are affecting to their original expresions indeed but what we can do but try our best and try to be wiser selecting and spreading the best. Not only landraces but also really funny hybrids and landraced based hybrids. For some is boring, I respect, they are not elites well known today but think cant complain because for some and for me is been always fun. I never liked the clone only things, thats not a family, not even close to it and when talking landraces best is to go with numbers although you may need years for those numbers. Sharing experience is best we can do maybe so new ppl wont do same mistakes we have always done. Sometimes question for the ones who like cannabis as said other times is what cannabis does for you and what you do for cannabis. But is always personal taste, criterias and deccissions, you can fill a glass with lots of drops of water but wont be an ocean indeed, just takes time. But there are not saints or tibetans monks here, some like to do this way, some not, we are free for that. I can only thank to the ones who shared with us

Thanks for stopping by GG. I don't know where to start. My respect for growers such as yourself, Charlie, Dubi and KK is beyond measure. I'm both ecstatic and humbled to have been given this link to the past.

I agree 100% when you say "The reward here is in the knowledge and learning of growing". I haven't grown in 8-9 months which is the longest I've gone without growing in many many years. I found myself bored. This gift has reignited a fire in me that was only a flicker months ago. I'm looking forward to growing these long flowering sativas. The likes of which I haven't flowered in over 15 years. Having Charlie and Yourself as well as the whole IC community to look to for help and advice has me feeling fairly confident I can do them justice. I live in So Cal too and can let them go full term outdoors.

Thanks for all the info on the seeds. The puzzle is slowly coming together. So glad you guys are around to help fill the gaps. I'm glad to know that the Burmese and Redman were Favorites of KK. I'll be sure to try and Germ those soon.

Thank you both for all the work and sharing of genes that you've done over the years. None of this would have been possible if it weren't for people like you.
