Well Dubi, do you's hold any similar Mexican lines? Vmans Oaxacan or even Mountain Gold come to mind to cross with the 79, @Pineapple_Punch has already proven its a winner of a cross...

I have seeds from a more modern Oaxacan variety collected a decade ago that a close friend brought me from there. I would like to explore them for upcoming Oaxacan projects (if they still germinate!). Honduras would also be a good match for Oaxaca 79. I have others in mind... time will tell!

I found some photos out there of Oaxaca.
This particular one is from a winter crop. Planted in January on the balcony and harvested at the end of May, it is not as tight as the seasonal ones but very cheerful in effect.
As you say, this line is very similar to O79, although with somewhat longer flowering times.

Hey, well it was a nice cross, if it was a winner i don't know. There were some hermie problems, since both lines seems to be prone to herms in my eyes. High and smell were pretty nice in my eyes, but keep in mind that im only a tent grower (1 Tent) and that i only had 1 sinlge Oaxaca'79S1 girl available, the rest had no vigor and stopped growing, Seeds were not fresh anymore when i got them. :) I wouldn't say no to a pure Oaxaca'79S1 release by Dubi, great smell and high for sure, i really liked the Mextiza back then. :)

I was curious myself how closely related this line is to the one vermontman uses. I cant wait for the release :smoke:

As i have grown both, i would say they are not related at all. Smell, high and growth are completely different in my eyes. :)

Ive had panama phenos finish in about 9 weeks. Some sativas just finish faster
Well I politely disagree there, a Panama Red in 9 weeks is not a Panama anything, its just somebodies bigger, stronger, faster worked or "improved" line.

Regardless i'd be curious to see it.

There is no such thing as a non-hybridized landrace NLD finishing in 9 weeks unless this is what your referring to as a PR 👇 which it obviously isn't.

Please don't take offense its just my 2 cents!

No offense taken friend. You clearly have much more experience with sativas than me.. I was just referencing my experience with dubi's panama, which is a very worked line. I havent grown out any of the ultra long flowering varieties yet, as i can only grow indoors with very limited space. But im looking forward to the day i can

This is the real Panama Red.

Looks just like the Colombian Punto Rojo 🔴

Do people even know that Panama WAS part of Colombia?

People are not even ready for that conversation.

*All pictures outside of the vintage magazines are mine btw

Well since you mentioned it....
Can you give a short explanation of what happened?
Panama was part of Columbia.
History lessons are always welcome.

Some of the better stuff from South of the Border ;)
The red had good smell and up nice buzz, crystals too... no mold
@Lugo nice score, you been working this line awhile ?

@RobFromTX
Your remember seeing a batch of lightly pressed spears as long as your arms ?
Just the sweetest Colas I ever saw come out of the South... 90ish 92-95 those years are a little blurry
Got some ox a couple reds and some spears to throw down soon
In all the years these are the only two I fondly remember....were talking out of alot of tonnage

Maybe this
Panama is a country in Central America bordered by Costa Rica and Colombia. Panama is an isthmus that connects North and South America and is also considered a Caribbean nation. Vasco Nunez de Balboa discovered the Pacific ocean off the coast of Panama in 1513. Its strategic geographical location has made it a center of commerce and transportation since Spanish colonial times. After its independence from Spain in 1821, Panama became a department of Colombia until 1903 when the United States began building the Panama Canal and created the Panama Canal Zone, a major navigation hub. The official language is Spanish.

Someone on IC here has some military reports of the soldiers stationed there smoking weed :ROFLMAO:
You really gotta read those its comical

Some of the earliest reports of recreational cannabis use in the military came from the Panama Canal Zone in 1916, where troops were noted to be using the drug. Also in 1916, thousands of US troops used marijuana while in Mexico on General John Pershing's punitive expedition against Pancho Villa (1916–1917).

If there is not a strain named Pancho Villa....or "Arango" there damn well should be

He was known to his friends as La Cucaracha or ("the cockroach").
