boys left unsupervised usually leads to trouble.

obviously i havent maintained this guy at all, just kinda let him grow since he is in a completely separate space.

did some manual pollen collection, just put a shotglass under ripe pods n gave em a nudge w the snips.

from what im told, this is a lot.

are you guys finding that NCDG is a slow, average or quick vegger?

Whodi, thats a difficult question for me due to one BIG factor.
I veg under CFLs, for 'reasons'

so, that being said, mine usually lag a lil early, then have a boost, then lag a lil more, then but that time, i usually can push en them to flower, hairs of not

Rock Ive gone to t5's for vegging and I think they do a great job, although they tend to run a bit hotter than some other flouros......but the plants love it!

Weedy, I'll think about the t5s, but venting the veg cab has always been somewhat challenging.
i am considering a remodeling project (yeah, again) so, i'll see how this idea may work its way into that.

collecting pollen from active male,
transplanting clones to final pails, today likely
switching all current ladies (NCDG, Id10t, Mutant, WW) to water for a week, then slappin em down.

and trying to figure out why my Strawberry Haze is developing so slow and weirdly

I really like the healthy look all your plant have, I could almost smell a grapefruit just by seeing the pictures lol

My only question is your yeild, do you get enough to get you tru from one harvest to the next?

I burn alot and when In did grow my own I had to stay away from low yeilding strains, making for a challenge to find a big producer that also had the taste smell and effect i deseird ....

after a few runs i was low on seeds to try so we then self pollenated one clone that was from humboldt county, that clone was flowered 12 weeks untill a male pollen sack grew right out of the top bud, ;the pollen was then placed on a clone off that original clone....follow?

the offspring grew alot bigger buds and had a faster pace to her ,never stopped growing even in the clone dome they would get bigger withing a week of being placed in off the mom.

food for thought inbreeding will retain most of the original traits an MAY boost your yeilds...

but dont get me wrong man everything looks tastey already

Please dont get me wrong....I'm not suggesting that everyone ru n out and buy t5s.....really just saying i think flouros are good for vegging....but each type is a little different so get the right ones and keep them the right ddistance

thanks for the kind words.
really great questions, the same ones ive asked myself over the last year.
yeild? yes and no. some of the strains i tried, yeilded poorly, some due to mistakes i made, some coulda been bad voodoo for all i know.
My White Widows have so far, yielded well.
there are a couple strains i still have beans, but after trying them inside i've decided they may be better as an outdoor grow next summer.
The NCDG have yielded well, this mutant is a rarity and i dont expect a big yield from her, but if its more than 15g, with the way these trichs are stacked, itll be worth double the amount is kickass tasiness, im sure.

i have practiced cloning over the last year and have a decent handle on it. i have been utilizing it as a way to save on beans and to multiply the girls i liked.
i did have a couple hermie incidents and corrected them before any mass seedage occurred. this is the firwst time i have attempted intentional pollination. im not exactly sure what im doing, but, if a bumblebee can handle it, i think i ought to be able to fake it.

looking forward to 2010, im planning on concentrated efforts on the NCDG phenos that im prepping for pollination and more WW.
also want to cross it with the WW as these are 2 of my favorite strains and i believe they will compliment each other nicely. also they each have great grow characteristics with solid yields.
finally, a personal project will be crossing this with the last of my Blue Russian Beans, as a little dedication to a dear friend.

i will of course try a couple other strains along the way that i have in storage, but, they will be side projects.
I'm sure my buddy WT will also tempt me with some of his new gear in the coming year, which i'm sure i wont be able to resist

All work and no play makes Roc a dull boy...enjoy your work...it shows...I like your work with the pipe cleaners, I buy the long ones from the local craft stores...work great for hangin pumps too..and like tying all my fan leaves together..out of the way....

TT, that is a mutant version of the viagra pheno aka Id10t. She is a lil skunkier, as in the F3 and F4 selections I picked the MOST non typical NCDG phenos to use. Outta the F4s....80% will be straight ID10t, MAY get one or two SUPER grapefruit NCDG phenos.

Wanna make this clear again too.....ID10t is NOT NCDG anymore really. If you want that SMASH grapefruit pheno that is ALL head high, get NCDG. Its one of the best clear highs I have ever experienced. I needed a lil more body for my taste, and after 40-50 F2 beans FINALLY getting the Viagra pheno IR and stinky talked so much about, I crossed it back to the slower more fat leaved male I had....then the F3s which Rock has, had WAAAAY more of the skunkier offensive smelling, and with good temps, they will purp up a bit.....aka Id10ts. My F4s, well......take a gander

those cuts were 4 wks veg after the cut, they are now in the 3rd wk in 12/12 and the last wk they are still on veg nutes.
i wanted these girls to get every chance to grow big n strong.

These clones will be our F4 bean carriers.

I failed to mark which was which when i cut em, so we need to wait and find out together in about another 2 wks.
I do plan on blastin em w some Liquid Light this weekend.

the last pic is actually a super rare Id10t Mutant that Whiskey only saw a couple times out of 100s of beans popped. I pray that I have at least one of these still in the clones, not really sure cause I did lose 1 or 2 during the rooting stage.
yeah, the pipe cleaners i been usin bout a year. local craft section of any store is real handy. dowels, pipe cleaners, string, tape, its all good.

as to enjoying my labors, well, the 3 we been watchin are coming down this weekend along with the WW. the 2 strawberry haze prolly need another 3-4 wks, really weird development.
and, truth be told, i been clippin samples all week

I had that weird pheno, too..I think..I lost her, tryin to reveg..too late..and I never cloned her....Lesson learned...I didnt realize how rare it was till now...I'll be lookin for that again for sure...Hope you dont mind me using your pic in my post...but had to show you...

hmm, yeah, i actually thought about trying to reveg, just to keep this pheno going, but, i noticed one small detail...
almost NO LEAVES!.
this is one trait that stands out in this strain, very little foilage.

i decided (and can understand your results) there really isnt enough leaf present on a normally healthy plant of this strain to attempt a reveg.
