This is what players were afraid of, a ref costing them a game. Not surprised we're finally hearing about a deal with the regular refs now.
Homer, I gotta think you're just playing contrarian to think Tate caught that ball. Because no one in their right mind thinks he caught that ball, even Golden Tate regardless of what he said post-game.
6 NFL officials, not counting the refs on the field, reviewed the play and didn't overturn it. The replacement ref messing up is one thing, the review panel getting it wrong too is just bizarre.
Too bad it wasn't the Redkins or Cowboys, their owners would've freaked out so bad a deal would've been done about an hour after the game.
The officical rule on a simultaneous catch goes as: If a pass is caught simultaneously by two eligible opponents, and both players retain it, the ball belongs to the passers. It is not a simultaneous catch if a player gains control first and an opponent subsequently gains joint control. If the ball is muffed after simultaneous touching by two such players, all the players of the passing team become eligible to catch the loose ball.
Tate only got equal possession of the ball fully once he hit the ground which is not a simultaneous catch. In the picture above you can cleary see his right arm off the ball while Jennings has caught the ball and its at his chest. Problem with a simultaneous catch is that you can't review it so there was no evidence to actually turn the play over....
Calcio, yes you're correct they do have the option to look at the reply and for that matter every TD scored is reviewed automatically....Problem here is that a simultaneous catch is not a reviewable play (thats what they said on TV at least)...so there was nothing in the review they could overturn, if the refs had called INT on the play that would have stuck too, even if it was a clear TD...
Homer your on an island all by yourself my man, I think only you Pete Carroll and Golden Tate thinks that was a TD....I think it very clear it wasn't a TD, just my 2 cents...
Here is the proof...
In this picture does Tate clearly have control or even equal possesion of the ball?, plain and simple, NO....

Calcio, Yes basically whatever call they made on the field was going to stick regardless of a review. Also no need to get out my man....this is a football thread! ask away on any questions you may have, and yes the rules are complicated at times, I am still even a little unsure if a simultaneous is a reviewable play or not, the announcers were saying this and its not impossible they were wrong...
Hey homer, wanted to ask you did you hear the fake story yesterday that Big Ben got in a car accident and broke his leg? It was a fake article that spread for about an hour before the steelers cleared up it was nothing but a Hoax....
and the quote from the rule book is irevelant
