im not really the guy to ask about the potency of eatables
i smoke a lot so i have a high tolerance so im the classic, "this does nothing to me so ill eat another one" kind of guy; before you know it im so high i need to nap to get back to square one
we put about a qp of shake into a pound of butter so they should turn out pretty good
i bet every young qb has felt the boogey man at some point and darnold is no different
you ar right tho that the pats have an all time defense this season
their passer rating against opposing qbs is something crazy, like in the 30's
/the next best team is the bills with an opposing passer rating of 70.3
they are playing off the charts right now, absolutely lights out football
cam would be interesting pick up for the bears but i wonder is he is the guy you want
/im thinking the panthers cut him loose after this season, especially is allen keeps playing like he is
the others mentioned are still under contract but i think they are going to be looking for some big contracts in the next year and their teams might not be able to spend so much on one position, especially if its for a backup qb (in teh case of the jags)
the saints would be smart to resign bridgewater, because like you said brees is getting up there in years and he is an insurance policy that pays
but the jags have so much money tied up in foles that i wonder if they can shoulder paying minshew if he wants a new deal? his trade value would be off the charts but the bears might have be able to swing a deal
i dont think dalton is the way to go, hes not going to take a pay cut and has a lot of wear, plus i just dont think hes a winner when its all on him
i ehar you about coming home from trick or treating with a sack full of candy, we used to take pillow cases out and fill those up trick or treating
hope your week is wrapping up nicely and you ahve your sights set on a fun weekend
the rams play the bengals this weekend so hopefully thats another w but the 9ers look like they are red hot right now
your bears are playing the chargers so i will be flipping between the two games
ill let you know how the candy turns out!

Heh, I wish I had ur tolerance. And edibles definitely put you into nap time after a certain point. Not bad when youre going to bed, but not ideal when you’ve got stuff to do.
So about an oz per stick of butter? Oh yeah, that should be plenty potent. I knew a guy who’d put an oz of ground up brickweed in one box of brownie mix, you’d only need a corner of a brownie to get you nice and high.

Yeah, pats D is crazy, theyre also giving up like 6pts a game or something, record is like 11pts a game by the 2001 ravens? Interesting thing is that even if brady wins ring #7 this year, supposedly he might leave to play for another team next year. At least that’s the rumor.

Dalton is making like 17M a year, which is actually below average QB nowadays, but I agree he’s not that much of an upgrade on trubisky. I wouldn’t mind drafting another QB, although im not sure how much draft capital the bears have. I think they’ll have their 1st rd pick this year, the two they gave to the raiders are already given?
Minshew is on a 4 year rookie deal so im not sure he’ll have much leverage until like year 3, so 2 years from now. But yeah, if he balls out he’ll be able to ask for big money like Dak is now.
Cam I think is going to practice soon, and panthers play the niners this week, so we’ll see what kyle allen is able to do against the 2nd best D in the league.

Vikings beat the ‘skins tonite by 10pts, not a high scoring game, case Keenum had to leave with a concussion and the rookie Dwayne haskins came in and immediately started turning the ball over. I thought he was a nice value in the draft after a 50td season for ohio state but man he looks worse than trubisky. Granted he’s a rookie on a bad team but even when he has time and a guy is open he just is not accurate or cant read the field. This is the danger of picking qb’s who only started 1 year in college, like mitch. Theyre really raw when they come in and they might not get any better.

I'm pretty much giving up on football.the Bears suck.the Falcons suck.and the Patriots win cause they play shitty teams like the Jets and the Browns.fuck I hate Brady.i got more important things like trying to fix my house that caught fire.im mad enough.i don't need football to fuel that fire.i kinda wanna see how far the Niners will go though.packers are kicking ass too.i really hate this season.i saw a Tom Brady doll at Walmart the other day.if I wasn't broke I would of bought it and gave it to my dog for a chew toy

its our man hawk!
glad to see you around and hope things are getting back as close to normal as they can

i could see someone offering the jags a nice 2nd roudn pick for minshew or maybe more depending on how he plays out teh seaons
not a bad return for what, like a 6th round pick
the 9ers are playing like thier hair is on fire
they are led by the 2nd best defense in the league and just picked up a new receiver so they could just be for real
im excited to watch the 9ers/panthers mach up this weeeknd
you have a hot offense going against a hot defense
i think c.mac (maccaferty) will be critical in slowing down the sf pass rush; you dont want to over commmit to the qb just to have a guy blow past you for big yards
bears play a slumping chargers team and i think you could win this one; just dont make any silly mistakes on offense and let the defense for the chargers into making some mistakes
/i thnk they will choke this weekend
haskins had a few passes go through his receivers hands last night, one for a pick so its kind of hard to get a good take on how he is coming along
but i think the skins might be making some big trades before next tuesdays deadline
we will see who is going where and i bet there will be some action
bills might have been interested in a trade with cinncy,im hearing that aj.green isnt on the trading table
we will see, a few teams are looking to upgrade their o'line and receiver position abnd you never know what to expect
i cant wait for this weeeknd
we are making the caramels and i will be sure to let you know how they turn out
/stop by boys for trick or treats!
hope you had a great week brother and are all geeked up for a great weekend of football

I'm pretty much giving up on football.the Bears suck.the Falcons suck.

Use your knowledge of the suck level to correctly predict whether they cover the spread or not against a good team. Money can buy happiness, houses and Brady dolls. I strongly advise everyone to at least try paper picks and see if they can hit ML parlays and 54% on ATS and O/U picks. A few value picks a week - not the whole board. If Atlanta sucks so bad you'd be crazy to not take Seattle's 3.5 point spread this Sunday. There's a few strange lines like that every week.

Yeah, this bears season is turning out to be quite the disappointment compared to last season. At this rate we might finish worse than the lions in the north.
Pats play in a division with an 0-6 team and a 1-6 team. We all knew the Fins were tanking when they started trading everyone before the season, but the jets were hamstrung by darnold’s mono. Darnold came back to lead them to a big win over the cowboys but that Patriots D steamrolled him last week. At least the bills might give them some competition.

What sort of damage are you looking at from that house fire? Is it still livable at least? Hopefully you've still got a kitchen and bathroom...

Atlanta might fire their coach soon; dan quinn replaced all three of his coordinators this past offseason, and installed himself as Def playcaller, but the falcons are 1-7 and have maybe the worst defense in the league. Really just disappointing results since almost winning the superbowl 3 years ago.

The 49ers/panthers game should be the most competitive game this weekend, with mahomes out of the Sunday night matchup with green bay. The niners are missing their starting O-tackles, and if Carolina can keep their run game in check jimmy g might have to win it with his arm. Emmanuel sanders is a nice receiver but is new to the team and missed some time with a bum knee recently, so we’ll see what he can do.
Chargers have been wracked by injury this year, after being mostly healthy the last 2 years. Still, I have no confidence in the bears to pull out a win. Trubs struggles to complete a pass deeper than 5 yards downfield, and with hicks on injured reserve the bears are more vulnerable to the run. Khalil mack is still a monster but cant shut down an offense by himself, he was dominant on the raiders too but they never had a good D while he was there. This is why I wasn’t so hot on the idea of trading two 1st rd picks for him and giving him 21M/yr; sure they started off hot but it’s mostly because the talent around him was so good and he was the cherry on top. Now with less talent around him he’s not making as much of a difference anymore.

Hey GoJoe, are you up for the year so far? I remember a few years back we were discussing on this board with another poster about how we should make bizarro picks: pick who’s going to win and then bet the opposite of that. That actually worked for a week or two before it turned against us.

its been a crazy season so far and it will only get better from here
i would not have guessed the bears would be playing this poorly on day one
i agree that trubinsky is probably not the player you guys hoped he would be when you traded up to get him in the draft and its probably time to move on
i think mack can still anchor the defense but like you said, he needs a supporting cast to really shine
as long as the offense can hold its own, i think you guys can pick up a w against the chargers
the bills are looking a lot better this year ; i think they could use a top receiver and a few more pieces but are heading in the right direction for sure
the rams get to play a crappy bengals team and i hope we can make it two in a row
so whats on the menu for tomorrow baba'?
do you thnk you will have many more weekends where yuo can grill or has the weather shut that down?
its been super hot and dry out here but today is already feeling a little cooler than its been all week
its nice to have 80' and sun in october but the dry air is killing me
we are making the camamels tomorrow and i will be sure to give you the run down on how they are my friend

i agree that money does buy happiness and all the other stuff you mentioned joe'
so where do you lay your bets, do you gamble online or go to the local casinos for the games?
i have a friend who bets and hes plays the spreads just like you mentioned and seems to be doing pretty well for himself this year

hope everyone enjoys the games!

Hey GoJoe, are you up for the year so far?

$2200 was lost in the most epic 4th quarter collapse this season, and $1172 in winning tickets was accidentally lost, yet my initial 5k bank was paid off in full before putting my money down for this week. There are some questionable picks this week that I borrowed from people who tend to be right - Auburn and the Bills cover - so I really don't know right now. I had the Vikings to win on a couple parlays and that went well already. Some other NFL parlay teams I like this week: the Patsies, Saints, Rams, and Lions win, and probably the Jags. Seattle wins and covers 3.5, but a lot of casinos did not take wagers on that game early in the week and maybe still.

so where do you lay your bets, do you gamble online or go to the local casinos for the games?

It is or was too hard getting money back from offshore such as 5dimes, so I travel. Some casinos let you mail in your ticket and they send a check.

I'm not sure how to make money like that maybe we could have a separate thread for that? I think it's been mentioned once or twice.

Chargers aren’t great, neither are the bears, so we’ll see how it turns out. Trubs threw for 3 tds against the 1-7 redskins, chargers aren’t nearly that bad, but Melvin ingram is hurt, derwin james is still out, maybe trubs can take advantage.

Rams are playing the bengals in London noon cst, 5pm London time. Gurley is still laboring, Darrel Henderson has been picking up some more carries with Malcolm brown hurt. The rookie has been looking ok actually.

Made some burgers, chicken and fish this past week when it hasn’t been rainy. Made them extra thick, and well sprinkled with seasoned salt, although most of the seasoning seemed to fall off with the juices when I flipped them, so a put more salt and pepper on them after cooking. All were cooked through (the beef was getting old) but were soft enough, didn’t handle them much when raw except to round them into patties. Earlier I had used some of the beef to make patties that I pan fried, and had mixed some fresh bacon bits (the kind you use for salads, etc, from sams club) into the meat, along with some worchestershire, bbq sauce, sriracha. That worked ok, although the bacon wasn’t really like real bacon that comes in strips.

Going to be a tough task for The Browns today, but if coming in rested off a bye week, and playing a team that is coming off of a short week isn't enough of an advantage... I don't know what is....

that all sounds so grinding baba'! i love burgers man
like you said, when you press your own patty you dont really want to handle it much
sometimes i will use two plates to press them out too when im going for that thin patty burger like in n out
/its a certain taste
the bacon burgers you made sound grinding with the bacon bits mixed in, good juice beef with a salty crunch! plus all the other flavors you added
so how did you cook your fish?
the bears/chargers will be interesting and we will see which team shows up to play;both teams need the win but i think the chargers have a tendency of beating themselves
/btw:f-spanos
i like the way that kids henderson runs too
he has some nice feet and moves really well, looks like he has some speed too
the bengals are the worst team in the league against the run so hopefully the kid can shine
sounds like the mrs is getting up so it looks like im getting my day started
ill let you know how those caramels turn out and i hope yu enjoy the games brother!

Around 4-5 years ago i put $100 into an online, offshore betting site, and made two $50 bets on nfl games every week. Most I was ever up was maybe 250-300 (inc the $100 original balance), then I would make three bets a week. Think i lasted a season and a half before I lost it all, lol, so i never had to bother trying to get my money out. That's shady as isht though, a betting site giving you crap about withdrawing your winnings.

Was kind of fun gambling though im not too much into it. Charles barkley, the ex-nba player, got into trouble gambling big amounts and ended up owing a bunch of money to a vegas casino; in vegas they'll go after you criminally if you dont pay them back. His excuse was "I was trying to break the casino". Which made zero sense to me cause unless you win 100million youre not breaking a big rich casino like that, and they'd cut you off if you won a few million, much less 100M.

Ah yeah, the smoke smell and mold (from all the water used fighting the fire) are probably just as bad as the actual burn damage as far as making it unlivable. It is nice that the family is in the business of remodeling, but yeah, have to pay those bills first. Sounds like it's getting restored slowly but surely, so that's something. And maybe there will be some improvements too? New mechanicals, cabinets, etc? So i guess there's some upside to this whole fiasco, although im sure you would have preferred no fire in the first place?

These are the burgers i made on the grill. Didnt use those bacon bits in these, the taste is off, theyre not really like real uncooked bacon that comes in strips. I think if they were cooked well enough they'd be better, i use them as extra toppings on frozen pizza and they come out pretty good, but inside a burger they dont really get cooked enough. Maybe in a smashburger (patty smashed thin on a flattop or skillet) they'd get cooked well, may try that later if i get more ground beef.

The fish was this frozen, salted mackerel that the woman wanted cooked outside since fish, especially mackerel, is too stinky for her to cook indoors. Just cooked that on the grill, along with a chicken, no pics though but they turned out well enough, except they were pretty salty. Maybe im supposed to defrost them and rinse them in water to remove the salt first?

Bears found their run game yesterday but missed on a short field goal. Cody Parkey, the double doink kicker, hit all this FGs for the titans and they won yesterday, Eddy piniero missed 2 FGs and bears lost. Before, it was no run game and terrible QB play that was responsible for the losses. Trubs was a lot better, was running and scrambling more, still not great but it was encouraging at least, and david montgomery had a great game running the ball, but bears just keep finding new ways to lose i guess...

oh man! those burgers look so good!
/ i would have the one @7o'clock
they look like they have a nice char but still moist
so how did you top these beauties? bet they were grinding!
sounds like you really put it down on the grill
the caramels turned out pretty good, except right now we have one giant lozenge
we make the candy according to the recipe then poured it into a ceramic baking dish
this thing turns hard as stone
the sample dollops i put aside are super dank and taste great but we need to figure something out as far as this candy goes
what a fun weekend of games
i got to really watch your bears play and man, i can see what you are talking about in having no confidence in m.trubinsky
he seemed to be really slow in doing anything and it seemed to me like some plays took way too long to unfold; and whats your take on the coaching?

Fyi the niners defense is for real as the panthers found out. They had extra time to prepare and were not in the game at all. The offense is genius and they have some starters coming back soon. Defense wins championships but both sides of the ball dominate........

The burgers were decent, good smoke flavor of course, they were cooked through (no pink inside) but were still pretty soft/crumbly, maybe cause I barely did any hand packing when forming them. I was pretty basic with toppings, just some cheese and mustard and ketchup, I'll have to remember to keep some lettuce, tomato, onion and pickles on hand for proper burger dressing.

Heh, Ill take ur giant caramel lozenge. Not sure how to break it up, guess you could freeze it and try to shatter it, or warm it up in an oven and then divvy it up when it's soft...

Yeah, i didn't really watch the bears game, i was running around sunday afternoon and was trying to watch red zone channel on my phone, reading about the game later turns out mitch had two 4th quarter turnovers, a 0.0 passer rating in the red zone. He did have a nice run at the end, and was scrambling more to make throws, and completed some downfield shots, but overall still a pretty limited performance. He still cant read a defense or consistently make accurate throws, in his 3rd year in the league.

Nagy won coach of the year last year but this year bears fans are disgruntled with his playcalling. He did utilize montgomery more, dude had a nice day rushing, but then in the red zone kept passing, and then not trying to go for more yards at the end to make a closer FG had a lot of people scratching their heads. Piniero missed a 30-some yarder earlier in the game, and had a 41 yard attempt to win the game and missed that. Nagy was saying that he didnt want to run to get the ball closer cause there could be a fumble or the run could lose yards, but statistically there's something like a 1% fumble chance and a 30% missed FG chance from 40+ yards, plus taking a knee loses 1 or 2 yards each time, so none of those excuses made much sense in retrospect.

Yeah SDD, 49er's absolutely dominated the panthers, who had been undefeated under kyle allen. They were up 28-3 by halftime and ended up winning 51-13. Tevin coleman just ran all over a pretty good defense, and nick bosa might win def POTY, much less Def ROTY.

I guess we're looking at a patriots-niners superbowl? Although the saints and packers might have something to say about that, they play the pack in week 12 and the saints in week 14, should be great games...

the 9ers are on a roll for sure and its hard to say who could beat them the way they are playing
their defense is overpowering , the offense gets it done and shanahan is looking like a genius right now
its going to be an exciting second half to the season and i cant wait to see how the season finishes

so it was a pretty uneventful last day to trade and the only ticket was the rams moving a.talib to the fins for a low draft pick
im pretty sure this had a lot to do with cap space and the rams arent expecting much in return
im surprised that the bengals dident deal andy dalton; he was good for some draft picks at least and the chargers m.gordon wasnt shifted
/i thnk most teams wouldent offer much for him because its rumored that the chargers are cutting him in the next couple weeks
i was kind of expecting something as far as wr's go; a few teams could use some upgrade at the position
its been a fun season so far and we are rounding the corner, i cant wait to see how things finish
that is a great idea baba'; freeze the damn thing and just shatter it!
im thinking next time we could pour it into a sprayed silicone mold but that is a great idea!
extra candy for you my man brother; happy halloween my man

Yeah, I think the rams offloaded talib for about 5M in cap space, sent a 5th round pick to Miami plus talib for a 7th rd pick in return. You’re seeing that more often now, nfl teams trading draft picks for cap room.

Ur right, lot of rumors about players being traded before the deadline yesterday but none of them panned out. Leveon bell, aj green, oj howard, robby Anderson, Melvin Gordon, none of them got traded yesterday. U really think Melvin will get waived soon? He had a nice little TD run against the bears yesterday, but overall ur right, he hasn’t been running well since he’s been back. The bolts did fire their Off Coord yesterday, so maybe their O will be better with a different playcaller.

Niners face the cards tomorrow night, then the seahawks the week after. Hawks D hasn’t been great but they’ve been the niners boogeyman that last few years so u have to figure that could be a good game. Then the niners face the packers, ravens, saints, rams, hawks the last 5 games of the season. Doubt they go 5-0 during that stretch but you never know.

You mentioned In&Out recently and this is one of the copycat I&O burgers in the Chicago area. A double cheeseburger from Red Hot Ranch in Chicago. Basically a patty smashed thin on a flattop, with LTO and their version of I&O sauce, which tastes like a more tangy/vinegary version of a mayo-ketchup blend. This one I got with pickles and extra sauce.

Comes with handcut fries for $6.50 includes tax, so a great deal just like I&O. This one was sitting in the bag for over half an hour until i could eat it so it wasnt nearly as good fresh but i did gobble it up when i got the chance.

Still, if i ever get to a real I&O i'll be sure to get a double-double animal style, with light crispy animal style fries. And I'll raise my burger to the sky and say, this one's for Poprocks, before shoving a third of it into my mouth like a slob. Then i'll pour out half my shake onto the ground in memory of all my dead homies.
