Makes sense that any nfl fans in st louis might be cheering for KC now, but i got the sense any hatred they had for the rams move was more directed at the team owner, kroenke. Plus the rams hadnt been good for years when they did move, so maybe by that point they were pretty 'eh' about it.

Haha, Hawk, yeah, it was weird to see some clutch kickers yesterday. Really it was the 4 best kickers in the league, Lutz, Zueurlein, Butker and Gostkowski. That 57 yarder Legatron hit in OT would have been good from 65. Oh, what might have been...

The refereeing definitely seemed strange at times. That rams corner just nailing that saints receiver while the ball was in the air should have been PI and a 1st down: 3 runs and a game ending chip shot FG and the saints would be playing in the superbowl (in atlanta, of all places).
The refs favored the Pats with 4 calls by my count: roughing the passer on brady (he was hit in the shoulder not the head or neck), overturning the fumble on edelman on the punt return (he might not have touched the ball but was it really conclusive?), and 2 disputed catches by hogan where it looked like the ball hit the ground.

Sorry, HYF, but i really wanted to see some other AFC team than the patriots in the superbowl. But give them credit, brady shook off 2 int's and threw for 350 yds, converting crucial 3rd downs all the way. Run game was solid as ever, now with burkhead in the mix it looks almost unstoppable. Both lines playing well, brady was hardly harassed and mahomes couldnt get anything going till the 4th quarter.

We're all going to be rams fans during the superbowl. Well, except for new england fans.

Well I disagree about refs fav Pat's. KC had at least 4 absolute pick play (offensive interference) plays that all lead to a couple of td's, the last 1 Bill threw his ipad over lol. The 1 that was total BS was when Hill came off the line and grabbed Jackson to hold him there because play was going to the other side of field. Hill then falls down and they call def interference, meanwhile the other receiver fumbled the ball recovered by Pat's. Oh and all contact was before 5 yards down field.

As for the Edelman play, tv liked to show over and over, the front view which made it look like it hit him. Then other angles, 1 clearly showed no contact right hand, other angle no contact left hand, other angle no contact arm/shoulder.

How about the ticky tac bs PI on the 40 yard sideline play on Jackson..what a joke.

I will admit the roughing the passer was bs, but it was a makeup for the play before when they missed or should I say didn't call the mugging on Edelman.

what a weekend of football!
both games featured the best teams in the nfl and were so evenly matched
/first time in history both playoff games went into ot
regardless of who won, this was a great weekend of football

i hear you ag' about how there were bad calls going every which way this past weekend

while it sucks when a team loses because of bad calls, its part of the game
in addition to penalties, a good case could be made about kc losing because of a coin toss
if anything maybe the league needs to revisit their overtime rules
/if kc had won the toss the game could have had a totally different ending
//i think both teams should get one possession and if its tied after that play another set (one possession each) until someone is unable to answer the other teams score

that carbonara sauce sounds awesome
adding spam sounds like a great idea my man and adds another texture to the pork
I bet you are right and you could just use the whole eggs when making the sauce
im going to have to make that soon here
I pretty much always cook the noodles in the sauce before serving
It lets the noodles soak up some of the sauces flavor and brings everything together in a nice way
I bet mrsChicky would love it
/and of course I will tell her it was baba’ that I heard the recipe from

So only one game left and I bet its going to be a good one
Cant wait for the super bowl

Both teams do get the ball in overtime as long as you don't give up a touchdown. Saints won the coin toss, how did that workout for them.
I like the rule a lot better than the old rule of 1st score wins.

Bungle, 2 years ago that statement would have been laughable. Even i laughed at the browns and the bears were the worst team in the NFC at that point. But now? Yeah, definitely not out of the question.

Bill is somehow a genius football coach but can't master touchscreen technology. And it's an MS Surface, not an ipad. Makes me think if it was an ipad he wouldnt get so frustrated with it.
I'm not sure about all the illegal picks by the chiefs, AG. It's like that old saying, you could call holding on every play if you were analyzing all 22 players in replay.

None of the 4 plays i mentioned were as egregious as the missed PI in the saints game, but any one of them would have resulted in giving the ball back to the chiefs (by punt or turnover). Also, dee ford lining up offsides negated a brady interception with a minute left in the game and the chiefs up by 4.

Maybe it was just missed opportunities, bad calls, whatever, but chiefs just couldnt get it done. Being shut out in the first half hurt them, mahomes taking a sack to take them out of FG range hurt them, mahomes missing damien williams on two long td passes hurt them. Chiefs had their opportunities earlier but showed their inexperience. Just felt bad for andy reid.

Yeah Pop, people were disappointed that mahomes didnt get a chance in overtime, but AG is right, only if the first team gets a FG does the second team get an opportunity to score, if the first team gets a TD it's game over. Happened with the Pats and Atlanta in the superbowl too.

Yeah, the carbonara seems to be part of our regular pasta rotation now, the woman got the idea from a friend of hers and we looked up a few recipes online and gave it a go. Never thought of using raw egg to make a pasta sauce but turned out ok, made me feel adventurous. Hey, look at me folks! I'm Emeril freaking lagasse! Bam!

I agree the Saint's non call was over the top. But to say the Pat's got 4 calls is wrong. They got 1 the Roughing the passer.
Edelman didn't touch the ball and review showed it clearly. As for the 2 passes 1 was called incomplete. The other was a catch by todays NFL catch rules.

To say the Pat's got all the calls is crazy. KC didn't get a single PI or holding call even tho Eric Berry was draped all over Gronk all game. KC had 4 penalties all game 2 were offsides, 1 push in the back on punt return, and the roughing the passer.

Ref's call Jackson alone for 3 PI/holding. 1 in the endzone 1 for 40 yards and 1 that was on a play were receiver was blocking him so Kelce could come across field to which he fumbled the ball and magically a late flag came in.

only video I could find on 1 of the pick plays (watch #17 just lay out Watkins cover guy).. so you tell me under 3 mins no call 1st and goal from 2 or with penalty 2nd and 25 from their 45. Is that considered a Patriot favorable call?

I've watched football for 35yrx and dont know if I've seen 2 championship games with worse officiating.......damn that was bad. These supposed to be the best officsls. But on another note that was 2 damn good games. The Pats are a different team in January, and they proved it again against the Chiefs. Sometimes you can play perfect and still lose in Jan_Feb against the Pats. And like him or not Tom Brady is the greatest football player and maybe greatest athlete of all time. He's as comfortable playing in the big games as anybody. Just like Montana back in the day Brady is cool and calm under pressure. Just a very exciting weekend of football.

I'm not really bias either way.....sad as I have to say Ive kinda been pulling for the Browns lol. But I respect the Pats, they have been good a long time guys.....it's a great dynasty and organization. Damn these guys are playing in there 9-10 SB in 17sea with Brady QB. I think it was bad all around, that's Rams Saints game was horrible called game. I seen numerous calls blew, The Pat's and Chiefs was bad too. Hopefully the SB don't end with a contravrsal call!!!!

brady in the post season is clutch
like you said, wvkind' hes up there with the best

i know the current ot rules and agree while its better than the old rule (first team that scores wins)
both teams should get a possession regardless of score, 3pts or 6(+1)
even when they have to scoring a td it puts too much of the outcome of the game on the toss of a coin
while i was less invested in the kc game the final quarter was some great football and i would bet that mahomes would have matched the pats score;then brady would have come back...
its all water under the bridge and the pats won
the two best teams are playing in the super bowl and i cant wait
/speaking of sour grapes can you believe that a no lawyer is sueing the league over the bad call ?

im going to have to make some carbonara, baba
it sounds super good and i love the richness an egg brings
we have been going with different sauces lately, just olive oil and cheese most of the time with a few fresh veggies (onions, plus green, red and yellow peppers; i call it rasta pasta)
i like the red sauce and good alfredo is a thing of beauty but sometimes we just want something lighter
have you evr put a fried egg over a burger or steak?
i love steak and eggs but i dont really like putting a bunch of stuff on my burgers man

Yea I tell yea Belicheck almost always has a good defense scheme, especially the first half. But I really believe Brady and the Pats felt slighted by the Chiefs. The Chiefs and Mahomes have really played elite football all year. The Chiefs really got screwed by Kareem Hunt. I think the backup Williams is a helluva RB but Hunt fit into the passing game better. The Saints and Rams have kinda had to change up there offense some for the playoffs. The Saints have had horrible luck the last 2 seasons, really some heartbreakers

i hear you brother
k.hunt was the leagues top rb last year and was on track to do well again this year
/in some ways he reminded me a lot of lt; except you know... lt never kicked anyone
i hope hunt is able to return to the game but we will see
if anthing the rams morphed into a power running game behind cj anderson and feature one hell of a defense
i still like goff and man the kid can whip the ball, but hes still a touch green and needs to settle down a bit
its going to be a great game!

Pick plays are a staple part of any modern nfl offense these days: line up a bunch of receivers on one side and then have them run crossing routes in different directions.

That one in that clip seemed egregious, right at the end, when the receiver squared up his shoulder right before contact, but im not sure you can say a non-call is equivalent to referees actually making a call in the patriots' favor, even after reviewing a play on a monitor multiple times.

Ur right though and i was wrong, that 2nd hogan catch was overturned on review. The play after that was the pass to gronk that was picked off but overturned because dee ford was lined up offsides.

Patriots played well, were coached beautifully, it just seemed like all the crucial calls in the 4th went their way. But if the chiefs had a better defense, maybe it wouldnt have come down to ref's calls. Chiefs fired their D-coordinator yesterday, so we'll see what they look like next year. Theyre good at sacking the qb, not that you could tell against the patriots, but they were 2nd worst in yards given up, and NE torched them for over 500yds.

I think next year you'll be able to see PI calls and non-calls being able to be reviewed, because of the saints game.

There's a rule that allows the league to change the result of a game, the NO lawsuit wants them to do that, not gonna happen but if it makes them feel better to try, more power to them...

Hunt was very good with KC, but i think Gurley was the league's top back the last 2 seasons. I had kareem his rookie year, and his first 5-6 games he looked gangbusters, ripping off 50 yd scores every week, but after that he cooled down a lot although he still finished the league's leading rusher, although gurley led everyone in scrimmage yds and td's.

Kareem was doing very well this year too, 7tds rushing and 7 receiving, before he got released. But damien williams has scored in every game he started, and had 3 tds vs the pats. And this was a dude that barely played for miami over 4 years before signing with the chiefs. Maybe it's just the team and the system more than the RB being elite?

But even gurley hasnt been great lately, he was outsnapped by cj anderson in the saints game, had a TD but also had a turnover. I think he'll have to step up big in the superbowl, NE has trouble covering pass catching RBs, he needs to take advantage.

Yeah, Pop, I love my eggs over easy at breakfast. Nothing better than a nice runny yolk, sopping it up with hash browns or toast.

And some rice dishes call for a soft poached egg on top, and when you break it you get that creamy yolk to add a level of richness to the dish. And ur right, some burgers have that fried egg on top for a similar effect.
I guess carbonara pasta is much the same, and if youre used to simple sauces (other than tomato) then youll probably really enjoy it.

I sure hope they don't start reviewing penalties and non calls. Damn game will be in review stopping play all game long.

As for that rule, yes it's true about being able to reverse but it had to be within 24hrs which has come and gone. There is a video with law specialist from either Fox or CNN talking about it and how season ticket holders lawsuit won't work in court. Something about it has to cause direct harm, not emotional harm like losing a game.

im wth you AG'
it seems like the games alrady have enough challenges and play stoppages, imagine if you could review every pi call/non call with nothing to lose? just about every pass play could become a stoppage in play
/4.5hr games? no thanks

i am really excited to see the play calling in this next game
yuo have one of the best coaches in history coaching the pats and the brilliant football mind of sean mcvay leading the rams
while gurley had good numbers this year (i guess froma fantasy pov) he hasnet been playing well the last half of the season
especailly against the saints, he said himself that his play was "sorry" and he gave props to the rest of the team for carrying the load
i think the power run game could work out against the pats because the rams had a good front line, but i agree that gurley has to be a part of the game if the rams want to win
/goff needs to step it up too
making the rasta pasta tonight baba'
i told the lady about the carbonara but she is in the mood for soemthing lighter
you dont get much simpler than olive oil and veggies
ill throw some sun dried tomatoes in there too just to add some flavor but were keeping it super simple this evening

I think the CFL (canadian football league) instituted review for everything 3-4 years ago, basically an official in a booth with HD tv screens reviewing all the action and correcting anything obvious, from the wrong player's number called on a penalty, to the penalty itself or a penalty that should have been called and wasnt.

Belichick himself said years ago that PI should be reviewable if you throw a challenge flag.

Obviously you dont want to stop the game after every play to review all of the individual action, that would be ridiculous, but an 'independent' ref watching all the immediate replays in a room somewhere and only stopping the action if something egregious is missed or called might not be so bad.

Or keep the current system of 2 challenge flags per team and have PI (or a PI non call) be reviewable, per belichick.

I would also think overturning the result of the saints game would cause more lawsuits than it would prevent. Think of all the rams fans (all 500 of them, haha im kidding Pop, although they said that the pats-chiefs game had a higher rating in LA than rams-saints, for some reason) who already bought tickets and travel and lodging for the superbowl? What would they do if the league said sorry, saints are going to the superbowl instead? It'd be more of a clusterf--- than it is now.

Pop, the rasta pasta u make, is that basically your own twist on aglio et olio pasta (italian for garlic and oil)? Which uses garlic cooked in olive oil, parm cheese, red pepper flakes, salt, maybe parsley and lemon zest?
The woman tried to make pasta in olive oil a few times but dont think she did it right, never really had any flavor, just tasted like oily spaghetti noodles. Olive oil in general doesnt have much flavor by itself, have to add that cheese, spices, salt, etc to get some actual flavor in your noodles...
