So I've got 7 feminised High Country Indicas on the go and 2 sativa seedlings of unknown sex.

HIGH COUNTRY INDICA...FEMINISED

THE 2 SATIVAS...MALE OR FEMALE? I'M HOPING FOR A MALE

I'll let them go a bit longer under the flouro and then crank up an HPS. I'll have 7 mums of known sex and 2 unknowns. Once they get big enough I'll clone the 2 unknowns and put the clones onto 12/12. Then I will know what I'm dealing with.

In the meantime it's party time. Xmas turns everyone feral around here...I like it.

Cheers shroomy, good to hear from fellow Aussie growers having a go..keep up the good work...respect. It doesn't matter if you grow big or small...just tell us about it. It would be nice to do Tom Hill or Butte style grows in this country but that ain't going to happen yet...so just plug away at whatever style you want to do.

I'm slowly starting up the HPS again. I've got 6 High Country Indica feminised on the go, 2 unknown sativas...believed to be of Thai origin and 3 males from a cross a friend did with High Country Indica and a very pleasant sativa cross.

I shall backcross the male to an original female and collect and grow the subsequent seed. I should be able to recognize the characteristics of each plant...I know them well.

Then I'll go deer hunting or fishing.

I've read through all the threads in your signature over the past couple days, lots of valuable information. Those tree trunk SOGs are amazing. Any chance I could convince you to send some of those seeds up to Canada? Haha

Sure you can, the 30.06 has a better range of bullet weights from 110g, a 3400 ft/sec goat smasher up to 220g for big Sambar stags...Mind you the recoil increases a lot with the move up to heavy weight bullets. The 30.06 is about the limit of what most people are comfortable with. Try a 300 WIN Magnum...they really belt you. Nothing wrong with a .308 WIN though...accurate and reliable calibre.

Thanks gtgio, what part of Canada are you from? Some years back I spent 3 months in BC skiing and cruising around. Sampled some fine BC bud...good times. Can't send the seeds I'm afraid....be careful mentioning that cos some moderators consider it a TOU violation.

Cheers shroomy, the 30.06 is a fine calibre amongst the plethora available, cheap to run...even cheaper if you reload yourself. It's the most popular hunting calibre in USA. Just hang on and don't cop the scope in the forehead on recoil. It's not much fun shooting on a benchrest with it...but hey...when hunting you don't even feel recoil. The minimum legal calibre for Sambar deer is .270 WIN.

In the meantime I will collect this pollen. There is a thread going around at the moment by chimera about freezing pollen. So by the way these males are going I will have excess...might give the freeze method a go.
