Hello SF

Of course I can't answer your query as I can only answer for myself, and I am obviously still here ;)

However, knowing humans as I do I suspect the shiny penny has dulled :shrugs:

I do agree with your assessment...

Thanks for the kind words, Sneeky! :thank you:

Im glad to see that someone is tring to do something about this issue! It seems like this is a divided issue even by the people that love the herb! I saw another thread on here eariler today and the people posting were arguing with eachother over legalization! It's crazy to think that anyone on this site would'nt want full legalization! Greed I guess.. It suck's to get busted as I can tell you, because it happened to me 10 years ago and I just got off probation in january! Another 5000$ and I can get my right's back.. I have a friend that is dieing from cancer that I help every year for free.. It's a healing plant and shoul be leagalized period! But until we all stick together it won't happen! Im glad your going for leagalization, I wish california would have passed it when they had the chance to,but to many people that make a living off growing voted against it! Very selfish and ignorant in my opinion! Keep fightin bro, your doing a good thing!

Notarization and Volunteer Meetup - Kansas City

Notarization and Volunteer Meetup - Kansas City

I've not been feeling up to snuff the past few days (throbbing neck-ache), last night was a two oxycodone night. It's been a long time since I had to resort to even one oxycodone, never mind two :( My apologies...

I also fully intended to struggle through posting the event tonight and just got swamped attending to other reform matters that it caught me wanting...my apologies!

There is 1 Notary - Meetup this evening. It is occurring now, but it's two hours, so IF you have any interest in attending you still have plenty of time.

Once again, I do sincerely apologize for my personal lapse.

Also, stop in and just sign or if you haven't been trained and picked up petitions to help...get trained here!

Our office is located on the north end of the 926 S Ohio Ave. building. It is a brown, metal multiple office building at a dead end.

Remember you must be 18 or older and a registered voter in the state of Missouri.

Hi Sneeky

Thank you :thank you: It's more than just me, though. There are over 1200 petition handlers.

As will happen, some are more active than others. I, myself, wish I was able to do more (but, you wouldn't believe what I am doing behind the scenes - unknown to everyone - maybe someday I'll fill you all in).

There is a fellow just south of me that is kickin' some petition ass. I'm extremely proud of him. He's even going to the other districts where they are paying for signatures (our disctrict 8 was excluded). He's going out of his way to do this. I wish I could give him double what they're offering.

I'm quite familiar with the internal arguments over our plant. What they, the pro-prohibition folks, don't see is that legalization will greatly expand their market base. Yes, they'll have to interact with more people to amass the same profits but they won't have a prison sentence hanging over them for doing so.

I'm truly sorry to hear you were caught up in the mess that is prohibition. I wish you the best going forward.

I"m glad to hear you're helping a sick friend too...that's what this is all about. I've met people whom I wouldn't refuse them anything to assuage their pain and suffering and that others would refuse them is rather cruel imo.

Yes, legalization is the way to go and in our case (and Colorado) an amendment to the State Constitution is the best route to take. The next guy in that position can't erase our gains with the stroke of a pen.

Thanks again for the kind words and the discussion, Sneeky. It's been a pleasure, truly. :tiphat:

Take care, man!,

Any idea where you guys stand as far as actual signatures needed?

Hello Anti! : wave: Still at it, indeed ; )

Thanks for the encouraging words, Anti! They mean a lot and are humbly appreciated

Yes, I have a better idea than I had before and they were firmed up yesterday, but are still not an etched in stone numbers in there preciseness.

On a positive note; They made their goal of 10,000 so that source of funding continues (IF what they said holds true...).

"""...actual signatures needed """

We still need the signatures of 109,000 registered Missouri voters. There are - as of yesterday - 35,000 signatures collected, which includes the 10,000 in this latest announced surge for continued funding.

But, I know that some (even from the start) have not been counted. Some, out in the non-"priority" districts (such as my district) are not included in that number.

If you'll note, we out here have not had any "Notary - Meet-Ups (petition collection gathering events)." So, in most instances there are people that are still holding petitions.

I have ten completed petitions of my own sitting next to me now. The fellow I spoke of earlier had a fist full.

I was recently authorized to secure printing of additional petitions (out of my pocket - and not repaid yet) to ensure he (we) had a ready supply, which I have also turned to that supply for myself.

On another positive note. I haven't given up. We still have time to make the numbers and I will try to kick my activities in to as high a gear as I am able. Out here in the relative wilderness our potential is honestly limited as we don't have the big venues as are in the larger cities.

While gathering signatures Friday night a new friend told me of a "Mickey Thompson Shootout" at a drag strip on April 6th & 7th about 80 miles away I'm going to try to attend.

The new friend called it a "Harley Roll-In" (which I have not been able to confirm - I called today, customer service is closed) which I was told was where the motorcycle riders (I'm presuming Harley's, but may be all bikes) don't have to pay admission those nights....which I know for sure is a favorable demographic ;) And Mickey Thompson is no slouch at putting together racing events, so it should be a great opportunity to gather signatures AND enjoy some outstanding drags.

Thank you for your question, Anti. I sincerely hope I have answered it to your satisfaction and IF not just let me know and I'll try and do better...

Good morning, Anti! :tiphat:

Take care, too!,

Hey there, Sneeky : wave:

The battle progresses and for me will continue until May 6th 2012.

IF the math that the Secretary relayed is accurate '1200 signature gatherers need only 100 signatures each' then it should get done.

But, I have that number beat on my own. And the fellow I spoke of earlier has at least double, and maybe triple that.

Now, IF the other 1198 Canvassers can hold up there end....well ;)

To be honest, I am a little concerned that it will be done. Pessimism is a ever present lingering emotion. I hope I'm completely and utterly wrong on this point. I hope to be proven wrong on these very pages

I could sure use some help from all you fine folks...

Have a wonderful evening, man! :tiphat:
