Missouri Constitutional Initiative Covering Industrial Hemp, Medicinal & Legalization
Hello everyone I hope you've all been well!
SMCR (Show-Me Cannabis Regulation) has been approved by the Missouri, Secretary of State, Robin Carnahan to gather signatures to put on the 1012 ballot a State Constitutional Amendment that will cover legal adult usage of our herb, allowing the return of Industrial Hemp to the state and allowing for the use of Medical Marijuana. A Three-fer, if you will
I met with the fine folks from SMCR last night and got the heads-up and the low-down B) I was also given ten petitions to gather signatures on (for starters ).
We need to get at least 150,000 legitimate, legal voter signatures for the initiative to go on the ballot. That's 150,000 'legal, registered voter' signatures.
The cut-off date for completed petitions with legal, registered voter signatures on them is May 6th, 2012.
I have contact information if you want to volunteer to gather signatures yourselves. I have petitions if you are a legal, registered voter in the state of Missouri (registered to vote at your current address) to be signed and want to add your signature to it.
I think the time is ripe here in Missouri. 150,000 isn't a lot of signatures, relatively speaking, but we'll need everyone's help getting it done.
I really like this initiative for a number of reasons and primary among those reasons is that it is for a State Constitutional Amendment. That makes it much more difficult for anyone (politician, or whoever) to dick around with it later. It can't simply be thwarted on a whim or done away with politically with a change of political winds or power without another constitutional referendum.
The other reasons why I like it is because it covers ALL three of my favorite ideas in regards to Marijuana....full legalization for everyone over the age of 21, medical usage for those requiring it AND the return of Industrial Hemp to its proper place in the state (any state, for that matter).
Let's get'r done...we're burnin daylight, amongst other things
Take very good care, one and all ,
