in the last week I started noticing a small change in the new growth color.
I thought it the lite was playing tricks with color.
its on the new growth at the top. the plants are avr 18" high @ 6wks from seed
a week ago they were a lighter green than the rest of the plant, and i thought it was just a spurt of new growth emerging because I put them outside to take advantage of the light rain all that afternoon
its gotten lighter+lighter in color.
now they are a very lime/yellow green color
on the tops of the plants the leaf the main vein that runs down the middle of the leaf is dark green along with the small veins that branch from it.
not all the plants are doing it, but there are several varieties

it sorta looks like a mag def. to me but it may also be to iron too from what I reda and comparative pics?

my soil ph is @ 6.3, I use water is around 6.7.
they're in veg under 1000w MH bulb 5000k
I thought maybe they were too close to the bulb and getting bleached out a bit.
the closest plants are about 6"-8" plus inches from the cool tube/bulb.
I'm using FoxFarms OF soil w/perlite and using FF grow big liquid nutes about 1/2 strenth every other watering
since th FF OF soils are suppose to already be ph adjusted I didn't add any
dolomite to the soil

here is a pic, the yellowing is a lot more pronounced than it is in the pic

I don't think it is an Iron problem, it could very well be Mg, the viens look green still, get some Epsom and see?, I would try and get your soil closer to 6.8 to 7.0 if possible, imo you're a touch too low there.
5 grammes or a teaspoon, (sugarspoon) full of epsom in each gallom or foliar feed ½ a teaspoon per litre, you'll know in 2 days if your remedy is correct if you spray.

thanks for the reply hazylady :)

I don't have any epsom salts available
I'd have to make a trip into town,
I do have some powdered dolomite that would also help raise the ph up also? could I substitute that?

ok, got the epsom salt now, put a tsp to a gallon of water and watered them good.
should I hit em again with epsom or wait for a few days and see if it has any effect?
