You don't have to put any nutes in the res. at all. water/fert. by hand when needed but if you needed to go out of town or just decided to be a little lazy because you were too drunk the night before just use plain ph water.

holding the bottles down is another story. You could add some rocks in the bottom of the bottle first I guess.

That brings me to another idea I had just now. What if I/we used Hydrotone in the bottom of the bottle for the first two inches so when we flood/fill the res you can add a couple air stones and not worry about root rot or anything along those lines. just a thought and it's not very thought through.

That is very possible to do, years ago when I was in middle school I had a HighTimes that had this grow article with a dude who had this closet garden that harvested every 2 weeks and it was basically what Dr Bud is doing but in a mini table set up. He had a 2 inch deep tray used strawberry containers for net pots, filled with Hydroton, and a fish tank pump to keep the water moving and he had 8 clones per tray growing just a budsicle on each one :joint: :joint: :joint:

Do you think If you use a container the size of a soda bottles on a table like an ebb and flow or a hybrid of the system the roots will still be contained and not allow for such a tall streatch?

What I love about docs system is how low he can keep sativas. Now only if I can figure out how to go hydro and still keep them small I would be a very happy grower because I would be able to solve my watering issue.

I love being in my garden every day but I dislike messing with nutes and water every other day. you know?

whoaaaa sikk sog grow

im waiting for my sexs to show for i grab the mothers.

Good luck and KEEP TRYING!

I had to germinate 14 seeds before I got my females. Now with three in flower, and a few of their clones just starting veg in new pots I am ready to begin establishing a perpetual garden. :jump:

No photo uploading working, so can't post any bud porn. The crystals are really coming out now, and the buds are fattening up. I added a few clones to the flower box, so after a few false starts I am beginning to work into a perpetual grow.

Got a good healthy clone of each strain so will start the bonsai process as soon as they grow out a few more nodes.

The person I started the grow for had a medical emergency, and the tincture made from leaf was not strong enough. I harvested the main cola of one plant and it produced 15 grams wet/ 3.5 dry at 7 weeks. I did not want to waste any on myself at the moment, so can't report on potency, but it sure did the trick on pain and anxiety for the patient. Replaced some nasty pain meds, muscle relaxants and sedatives from the pharmacy.

Thanks! The picture shows the cab, one of those plastic covered multi shelf units I picked up at a yard sale.

The flowering chamber has fixed lamps and an adjustable shelf with 30+ inches of room so I can adjust if the plants stretch. So far my strains are topping out at 15-20 inches so I have more then enough room. I used this multimount fixture I got at lowes to hold 4 42w warm white and 2 42w daylight bulb. I have a hacked 150W HPS I also put into the box as a back up or to fire up in the winter when heat is needed... (I had it laying around) :joint:

The mother/clone area is lit 18/6 with 1 42w and 2 23w daylight bulbs.
:joint:

And so far it works. The temps are a steady 80 degrees in both chambers. I am venting the flower box with two computer case fans but even with them off the temps stay below 100 so a fan failure should not cook my girls.

Looking good as usual Hempy... Come check out my first harvest and my SCROG/LST I have going right now I'm still trying to get them in my sig but until then ....

Need more of the stronger tincture so took down the rest of Superbud #1. Another 20 grams wet. Will see what it dries out to become.

Vaped some crumbles of scissor hash after trimming the cola. It delivered a very smooth energetic high. Happy and motivating. Major helium head buzz and feeling of lightness in the arms and shoulders. The high took a good 10 minutes to sneak up on me, then woah.. No munchies.

Got several clones from this seedling in the flower box now. Will be interesting to contrast this early harvest with the other superbud which I will let go for its full 9 weeks.

very nice setup you have here bro...you say that you vent your flower cab with 2 pc fans..do you have any idea what cfm they are??

50 or 60 CFM if my memory is correct. One would vent the cab just fine with the low heat levels that the CFL put off. In fact, unvented it stays under 100f. I had a fan failure early on that about cooked my entire garden, so set this cab up with two air movers. :joint:

well thats never good but at least it opened your eyes as to what could happen and your better prepared if there be a next time which we both know there won't be  i'll be using 110 cfm fans so i shouldn't have a problem cooling my ummmm i would say about 3 sq ft cab..keep up the cultivating bro and once again nice grow:joint:
