Michigan?

i have found this entire thread dissapointing. I think it has proven exactly what is wrong with michigan. residents that are elitists talking down thier own state. michigans economy is not only a result of the auto companies leaving but also the entire community support. i know its tough with no jobs but people should be welcomed if they want to move here and open a business not shunned. i would definatly stay away from detroit unless you want to visit for a lions game! too many wannabe thugs and real criminals...if you want the big city atmosphere with the small town charm i would suggest grand rapids ...

Things just got crazier yesterday. Our court of appeals just ruled that dispensaries are illegal in Michigan. Everybody is shutting down, and in some counties the police are raiding every one of them. So if you want to stay legal, Michigan is off the market for now.

Quite a few places only shut down for that first day. A good portion of places resumed normal operation after that or are doing in home consultations. If anything I'd call the raids organized robbery by LEO, no charges filed or arrests, but all the meds and money and anything valuable looking is taken. One place has had this happen several times and continues to operate. I've heard that police took a donation jar with about $200 that was intended for a terminally ill person's treatment.

Compassionate Apothecary is appealing the decision as we speak. I think if they argue that "caregivers may receive compensation for costs associated with assisting a registered qualifying patient." If the law intended for patients to be limited to acquiring medicine from only their registered caregiver, they would not later allow a provision for assisting "visiting" out of state patients. It is really common sense, I think these high priced lawyers are fuckin' it up. There will be a few more cases of interest coming out of Isabella county in the near future, everyone watch closely.

Quick question to my brothers a couple of states away.... Have many dispensaries reopened? Also are prices similar to cali prices when selling to dispensaries? I was told by a mate of mine up in Lansing that units were 4 apiece, which seems quite high compared to cali and I figured I was just trying to be taken.

Damn straight! Thanks for the compliment ;) Please don't hesitate to ask me anything about good ol' Esky, I spent 20 years there. Honestly summer and autumn are gorgeous, and the folks around there are for god damn real. ~mgd

Hello guys and gals! First time poster long time reader. I was going to start my own thread but I figure I'll just continue on this one.

My GF recently got a nursing job offer in the UP of MI, we are thinking about making the move only problem is I would not have a job. I have been a grower for going on 20 yrs now so I know how to get the job done well.

I have a few questions as this seems kind of cloudy when I'm searching around for info.

Is it possible to make a decent living for your family being a Caregiver? I'm not greedy, I'm not talking about trying to get rich like most of these pipe dreamers. I only make about 25k a year at my full time job, if I can make anything near that doing what I love I'd be all in.

How long do you have to be resident before you can apply for your cards?

I love the outdoors so the UP appeals to me, I think we'd fit right in as we've lived in similar situations like northern MN and northern Wi. I love fishing, hunting, wheeling, snowmobiling, boarding, I have 4x4 trucks, ect.

Howdy yall, just checking in from Mid central Michigan. I just moved here this last week. With 2 years of probation left in another state there is no way I can get a patient card or care giver card at this time. I sure wish I could though. I am just going to have to fly under the radar for the time being, but it is great to finally be in a med state.

Kaka, as long as you don't have to piss for probation, you can be a patient. However, if your probation is for a drug felony, you cannot be a caregiver.

I was popped for cultivation, 48 flowering and another 50 in veg. That was back in a southern state near texas where it isn't cool. I have never even met my probation officer, I am fully unsupervised and I have never had one piss test.

I am afraid to even get a patient card because if the state I am on probation finds out then my ass is screwed. I am on a deferred sentence and I have zero felonies attached to me right now, they will only hit me with them if I fuck up. In 2 years it all goes away and will be fully expunged.

I'd love a card, so I could have an easier time hooking up... but I'll meet people here in time. Thanks for the info.

You're really risking more by not getting a card... You're not gonna get arrested if you have your card and follow the rules. Unless you plan on not smoking, possessing or growing until you are off probation, I'd play it safe and make sure you are covered under state law. State run offices barely talk to each other, let alone other states. I think there is 0 chance of Texas finding out if you are on unsupervised probation.

Now how stupid would you feel getting busted with under 2.5 oz in Michigan without a card and having to go back to Texas and serve that time? there are 130k patients and 30k caregivers in Michigan. You will be fine. Better safe than sorry.

You make some good points. I guess I will talk to an attorney here and go from there. I am tempted to just be a consumer and buy on the black market for 2 more years. I face 2 life sentences if my old state finds out. The shit is crazy....

I'd fly under the radar if I were you. Just don't talk to anyone for a couple years until you are in the clear, there's no way to get busted if nobody knows.

I'll probably just go there and get set up and see how everything goes, staying under the radar might be the best option period.
