I didnt say soil needs a 1k lol, go re-read what i said.
Yes but what wattage are you using? A soil grow with 1000w light can result in a very large plant/plants.
in other words you imply less than a 1k can not. either that or you said nothing
Say 250w soil vs 250 hydro = hydro will probably be bigger
Say 1000w soil vs 1000w hydro = hydro will probably be bigger
I've grown three different strains now side-by-side with one batch in hydro getting every nute and chem available. Other batch in quality soil getting fed nothing but PH'd water.
Myself and everyone I've ever shared with/smoked out has without question preferred the soil versions. Hydro versions def win if your only concern is speed/total weight.
However, if taste, smell, potency, or sustainable organic techniques have any importance to you whatsoever, I think soil is the clear choice.
in order to pull this off, you need to pick and choose your harvests. This is how the lie gets sold.
I dont know what you mean. Pick and choose your harvests?
I don't think organic hydro is sustainable if it is taking us away from the soil.
I heard a guy on the radio dreaming about big food factories that use the sun, so we can cram food production into cities.
Soil and sustainable are inseparable.
Blank; You are advocating organic hydro in the cherry tomato example. Is this indeed how you grew? Organic hydro or aquaponics is sustainable but growing in coco rather than pea gravel is pretty expensive...no?
Well i always get the same yield or more in coco every harvest. Im more limited by the light source than anything else. So im not sure if we talking along the same lines here?
I generally get about 150g dry per 400w hps every 9 weeks ie 850g per 400w per 12 months. DONT TAKE THIS TOWARDS YOUR ARGUMENT, i am a NOVICE grower. I dont even know if thats considered adequate or not around here to be honest.
No i havnt done that i use GH. Coco is cheap where i am, how much is pea gravel?
yeah about 8.5 oz i think which is decent, but i think ive had more on the last few runs - more like 9-10 oz. usually a couple of the plants hit 3oz or more. not sure why it's less, perhaps the diesels arent massively big yielders.
livin' off the fat o' the land
