Personally, I love reading these kinds of threads, and especially the
ones where people try to bash GHSC.
The reason I like reading them is because it is so easy to see how
some people think that their "concepts" are "reality" and not simply
a point of view that is not based on reality at all.
Anyone that grows, or for that reason, anyone that "creates"
anything in life -- obviously knows that an end-result can be
"judged" -- only "after" it has been actually produced in reality.
Even if a trillion people grow GHSC seeds and are not happy, do you
really care what they think -- if you grow, and are actually happy
with the end product that you produced from their seeds?
Now as far as all this talk about Shanti leaving and taking the
genetics from GHSC??? While he was part owner of GHSC, the
strains he created "were" and "still are" obviously the "property" of
The Green House Seed Company.
Now, about the part that is "unknown" to anyone that was not
there when this split up actually happened. How were these genetics
split up, and who took, or "stole" what ???
I met both Franco and Arjan, and love to hang out in the
Greenhouse United Coffeeshop. And IMO Arjan has done a great job
with taking the "seed" business, and making some serious money
from this very profitable niche. Taking into account that all these
seeds come from plants, imagine the money being made on the
hash that they are obvioulsy banking on -- also.
Someone has said in this thread that it is amazing that a seed
company that has a sub-forum in here, and who's seeds are being
sold through Seed Boutique is being bashed on a regular basis in
these forums.
We all have to remember that we all have different goals, for
example Rez's goal is to be the breeder of the best marijuana in
the world, which from the grow and smoke reports he is achieving
quite well -- obviously, while Arjan's goal is to make a killing from
seeds without doing too much "high-quality" breeding work.
Breeding marijuana is "hard work" and to do it over an extended
amount of time like Rez, DJ Short, and many, many other
professional, and "not so-professional" breeders do -- takes
motivation, in fact it takes real motivation.
And, the people that are "motivated" by different things produce
different end-results !!!
A breeder motivated by a desire to create a "seed" that will produce
an awesome plant for their buyers will do the hard work, and will
produce results that will make everyone happy, the newbies and
the "pros" -- alike.
Breeders motivated by "money" and profits, will make products only
good enough to satisfy the masses.
For example, I eat in McDonalds once a year, and I will be honest
that I love the taste of that BS food. But, the rest of the time
I eat healthy food that I buy and prepare myself. But, this is
because I want a healthy body, and don't want to die any time
soon from eating too much processed and refined foods filled
with chemicals and other BS.
And to end this post, when it comes to seeds, and buying them,
and thinking about the strains that you want to grow out, this
"activity" is probably a million times more "addictive" that herroin.
Sometimes I think maybe it would be cool if there was only Skunk #1
But, then I see pictures of F-13, Flo, Blueberry, Sour Diesel, and so
many other strains, and I think that I rather be addicted to thinking
about the strains that I want to grow and do "pollen chucking" with,
then if there was only one plant that we could grow.
So, if any moderators read this post, I think that this GHSC bashing
has to be stopped, because it is true that some seed sellers on here
wouldn never be allowed to be bashed this way and for so long.
I am not for or against GHSC, but there has to be a limit to what can
be said about one of the seed companies that is part of this forum,
and has been always supportive with Icmag Cups and have provided
its coffeeshops to let us Icmagers to hang out during icmag cups.
...and plus, there are plenty of respected growers in this forum that
have confirmed that they have grown and smoked their plants and
that the end product is worth the "price" that they charge!
So, in the future IMO bashers of seed companies that keep up this
kind of non-stop BS should not be tolerated anymore.

ok so i havn bothered readin all the pages to this thread cos i cant be assed to read the same ol shit again an again, greenhouse make some good beans regardless of where they come from they turn out pretty good imo an thats all that matters to me.
fair enough some of their marketing techniques are a bit of a piss take but thats jus common knowledge i thought
i asked them for info on the grape strain an got not much back other than it is an old skool strain arjan has had for a while now.

I wrote that IMO...GHSC has -- as one of its main goals -- to make
a ton of money from the sale of seeds! And, since that is their goal
whatever they name their strains is their business strategy. It has
nothing to do with anyone "personally" -- it is a form of advertising
and nothing more.
...The rest of this post is meant to be for everyone that keeps
blasting GHSC, while being blind to the fact that you are caught
up in the webs of your own concepts and illusions!!!
Since there are currently no laws regarding the names of cannabis
strains (at least that I know of) this means that if GHSC wants to
make money from a strain they call King's Kush, they can!!!
...this is objective reality as it is, and if someone doesn't like it, well
then it is really your "personal" problem, and not GHSC or the people
that like their products.
As far as labeling something, look at PARADISE SEEDS, personally
I have only read good things about their fem seeds, and no one
is blasting them. And they don't even confirm what genetics are
in their seeds. This is fact, and people only guess what is in the
beans that they buy. But, the majority seems to be happy, and is
not blasting the owner because he is below the radar.
So, in the end IMO it is really about Arjan getting blasted, and not
so much his genetics. He does not even smoke that much, but he
obviously loves the "cannabis-business" and he loves making money
from growing cannabis. By the way, not one seed company has any
videos of their plants on youtube, isn't this strange?
Maybe GHSC names their seeds -- in ways that some people don't
like, but as I already said that is a "problem" of the people that
don't like that they do that, and not GHSC's problem.
If Arjan calls himself King Of Cannabis, why can't he name a seed
by his "celebrity" name? King's Kush is obviously meant to be the
name of a plant that he is personally offering to his customers.
In the end, if you don't like his products, don't buy them.
It is funny how people fight for their "concepts" of reality, and are
blind to the fact that they simply don't know what objective reality
is. Here is reality: Arjan is making a killing from selling seeds, and
I am sure he doesn't care what anyone thinks about the way he
approaches the naming of his seeds or what genetics he sells, or
for that matter, it is easier to say that all he cares about is his
own goals and dreams.
And, here is more reality: Human beings are selfish, and the more
money they have, the more freedom they have, the more they can
do what they want. And that is what Arjan seems to be doing.
So, if anyone has a problem with the fact that he can pretty much
do whatever he wants with his "business" and the way he names
his seeds...you should really ask yourself the question:
...are you doing what "you want in life?" or are you doing what you
think you "should want" to be doing? There is a major difference
between the two!!!
Maybe if you start doing what you "truly want" to do in life, you will
have less time to worry about Arjan and what he names his seeds
and more time to move toward your own personal goals and
primary objectives!!!

They do create their own strains. The clone scene in Europe & the UK is not like in the US. If we want a strain 9 times out of 10 we have to go out & buy the seeds & then select a mother. Whats wrong with Greenhouse releasing Kings Kush? Every seed bank needs to get their seeds/clones for breeding somewhere.
& for the prise that Greenhouse sell their seeds for you cant go wrong, i have grown their El Nino, Hawaiian Snow, Cheese, Lemon Skunk & Alaskan Ice & have grown top bud with every strain.

mate if you can get cuttings do imho because when i run my select cuts with a load of seeds 30 plus its rare i see anything as good as the cuts i got , all it takes is asking a few people for cuts start with who you get your bud off

The majority of people have no idea that a "concept" that they have
in their mind is simply a false view of reality, i.e. an illusion, and has
nothing to do with objective reality at all.
The majority of people don't want to become fluent in reality, even
if this is the major reason why the can never create long term
success, like the people that are fluent in reality.
I think Arjan is fluent in reality. He is doing quite well giving people
...exactly what they want -- cheap, average quality fem seeds!!!
While our mind "can" perceive reality well, it doesn't care if some of
the things we believe is based on fact or fancy. To the human mind,
some speculations can seem as factual as facts.
But, we have to do our best to tell the difference between what we
actually observe in reality, and the concepts we impose on reality.
If we don't, we may end up like some people in here that keep
talking shit, when there is more than enough "objective" evidence
in this thread and in many other threads that confirms that GHSC
seeds are "good enough" and plus that they have original genetics,
at least for many of the plants.

weed for themselves and not preserving genetics for their

...if you want good genetics...spend $200 for DJ Short seeds and
stop talking shit, that is what I think. Buy good genetics grow them
and you will not have the time to bash GHSC...so simple!

I only have experience growing Alaskan Ice from GHS but I loved it. The smoke was great, the yield was great, and the seeds were damn affordable.
Man Arjan is such a bad guy, traveling around the world LOOKING FOR LANDRACES TO BREED (strain hunters anyone?), and GIVING AWAY FEMINIZED SEEDS TO THIRD WORLD KIDS TO GROW AND MAKE MONEY TO FEED THEMSELVES.

This thread shouldn't be deleted at all Rez came through and dropped his knowledge and you have plenty of others who have had bad and good experiences. Even with all the haters you can get a feel for what the majority say to make a decision. Now is that how I would do it NO but some people do.... I know I love getting opinions from here from folks cuz many times have I found my buddies to just be stuck in their ways and what I wanted to try wasn't stupid and did work better ect or these nutes are better like this ect
