You probly don't need to scrog if you go with a 600 or especially a 1000. The best effect of a scrog is achieved with fewer plants in a small space. It seems you have plenty of headroom, and more importantly, IF you go with a scrog you will find it near impossible to manage under the screen. I didn't catch the dimensions of your closet but if that is 4' x 4' square you probly won't be able to reach unless your an NBA player. So maybe rethink your reasons for wanting a scrog in the first place. Christmas trees might be your best bet.
the room is 4x4x5.5 slanted down to 3' and im 6'4" i can reach anywhere in that room and the screen is bout 3 feet off the ground way easy to get around and under,i would rather not have Christmas trees til i move and finally get to set up the 55gal drum DWC outdoor with the drum buried half way in the ground and a second one to try a giant scrog outdoor plus i have A.D.H.D. i cant do anything normal
So I trimmed some of the leaves that were blocking the lower foliage, they look all tiny and bare now and i took a cutting from each and 2 from one just to try it Its my first time so we will see what happens i used this vita grow rooting compound i havnt seen on icmag b4,anybody seen, heard or used this stuff?
You sure are big enuf to have long arms. It's my understanding that you have to reach UNDER the net so you can clip all the undergrowth. It's hard for me, I hope I'm doing it right, I just keep redirecting all the branches to sideways to keep them under for as long as I can, then in around the last 3 weeks let them penetrate and try to have their own square for vertical growth. This was my first time, next time I might let them go vertical earlier because just one side (top side) of the long colas got full light when they grew sideways. It sure kept those sativas low to the ground, longest cola was 36" and only around 12" vertical height. I did 4 plants with a 400W. just chopped yesterday. Good luck, looks like a nice clean setup. Should work great with a 600W.
Looks like a great setup
I'm just curious, it looks like a non circulating system, right? how do you plan to change the res in each once they fill the screen?
thanks guys, this is my second grow 1st hydro so im curious to see what happens in the next few weeks. So how long do you guys think i should veg for? when should i go to 12/12? and i think im gonna switch to 1000w for bloom
Depends on what you're growing. Generally Indicas fill half the screen in veg and finish filling the screen under 12/12. Sativas should start at 12/12. After 21 weeks of 12/12 my Thunk was still in full blown strecth mode.
i think i have indicas on my hands, and i got a 1000w from my buddy,he's an outdoors guy so he wont miss it very much but here is the room with the bright 1000W-ter i think its hps
like i said earlier im going to pull em out one last time and hook up a res with a pump thatl flood the top of the net pots then drain through a tube that will be at just above mid bucket and back in to the res
so i just took that 1000w down, the temp was gettin in the high 80's with 3 fans and the ballast was making 50,000v tazer noizes so i put the 400w MH back up,any ideas as to why the ballast sounds like a tazer?
