Decided to ditch the hydro and start again. Trying to start clones in that type of system is a waste of electricity, time and money.
I am going to start new clones in 4" rockwool cubes so they can get established prior to placing them in the system. We'll see how that goes soon.
Time for a little update with the Brassinolide application.
From this application I am not sure if I am seeing the explosive growth I first saw.
Just before application
6 days after application
I expected much more growth after 6 days so a side by side is in order
Space Candy and Bay11 coming along, sick one is doing a little better
Day37 of Supposedly Animal Cookies???? from BC Bud
Pheno 1 - Bigger golf ball sized colas
Pheno 2 - Smaller long colas, is this gal flipping me off?
Had a chance to further investigate BC Bud's Animal Cookies that I am currently growing. It appears I was shipped their Sweet Island Skunk instead.
This is from their site: The Sweet Sweet Island Skunk is a hardy mostly sativa variety and a long native of Vancouver Island. Sugary long buds with long thick hairs are sparse at first, but fill and swell after the fifth week producing a dramatic increase in bud density into its finishing period. This strain is known for its sticky sweet colas and medicinal Indica stone. A good producer and an island favorite.
This is a pic of her Sweet Island Skunk at day46
So I went ahead and contacted BC Bud about the matter. They couldn't believe it but said it is possible. They said they would send me the right beans. Its been a week. I doubt I'll see anything and if I do I doubt it is genuine.
@DoubleDDs, Yeah that haze is a monster. I hope she turns out to be something great.
About the Brassinolide application, It is really hard to say without a side by side comparison. I guess I was wanting more LOL out of it.
And your welcome to hangout here. I didnt realize organic growers were that brutal. just kidding. What was the Imid for? I have not used that one.
Well after a complaint sent to BC Bud about my Animal Cookies they sent me new beans even though I did not purchase directly from them. I just want everyone to know they did send something LOL I really doubt I'll ever throw them down unless its end of the world or something like that and thats all I had to grow. Oh and they threw in a coupon that is worthless.
Are you so burnt from the experience of dealing with it? Don't take it out on the beans man. Lol and those mislabeled cookies looked like they would be good. Maybe it was fate to get the beans so you can discover a great new strain.
Thanks for noticing. The frost looks amazing that emmits a super sweet odor that I cant identify from the critical hog, hopefully it comes to me, its a fruity mix of sweet kindness.
Nah Im not burnt from that. Its from doing such a long run of just 2 strains. I feel like I have been released from prison or something. Got really boring.
The unknown beans Im growing which was thought to be Animal Cookies is really another strain they offer which is Island Sweet Skunk and well to make a long story short, is that there is some controversy about BC Bud. I dont know how true it is but it is ironic the wrong beans in my pack. And actually I am giving ISS a chance as I set another batch of them to flower. But that will be it for her. Not many patients in my neck of the woods want something that looks like this plant even though it could be fire. They mostly prefer really frosty rock buds with exotic colors.
About the nutes and ISS, she has been easy so far but she could have used a little more cal/mag and even more nitrogen early on in flower. I use CNS17 by Botanicare which already contains a lot of cal/mag but I use r/o water. Botanicare is the same company that makes Pure Blend Pro that I told you about in your thread. The PBP is almost organic and cns17 is not organic just a fyi. This problem could have also been from a transplant just as I began flowering, at this point I had over watered which I am sure did some damage so to put the nail on the head I wont really now until the next run.
did you get yours in the breeder packs of did you have them unpackage and send them in a Ziploc baggie? I had them send me the breeder packs so hopefully I got the right beans. I picked the animal cookies because it is marketable and looks pretty. The breeder pack is a stickered sealed plastic box. glad they made it up to you. I sorta regret getting my animal cookies as it seems the trend is dying down so I should probably pop them soon before it's "old news". since you're into pgrs, have you tried Purple Maxx Snowstorm? you spray it on the day you start your flush and it makes them throw purple colors and the frost is supposed to be quite insane. I have a sample bottle from the store but haven't used it. I heard that you have to lower the suggested dosage and do a test branch. it forces the plant to use up the nutes so it turns the fall leaves quicker.
oh and I've tried Pure Blend Pro in my hydro and the rock phosphate is not as available so my plants had purple stripes on their stems. I took them out and put them in some of that soil I made and they have green stems now. I'm not sure if it was because it was hydro and the nute availability is different than soil with regards to pH.
Mine came in a breeder pack but somewhere somehow it got mixed up or for other reasons. I have no idea and at this point its mute cause BC Bud is shite to me. The cookies I think was a fad, I am moving on, so bored with that plant. Really got a lot of hype. All that doesnt mean the beans aren't good, just to me their out for the $$$$. Not my kind of breeder that I want to support
I haven't tried purple maxx snowstorm but it sure sounds like a pgr to me. I honestly do not purchase any nutes but the basics now. Once I found out the ingredients of their magic elixirs I began learning about pgr's and now trying to learn to use them. I am in no hurry with it as I get good results without them. If you use yours I recommend doing a test sample before unless you can afford to take a possible loss.
Hydro is a different beast, most likely the plant was ill from hydro for what reason not sure but the herd won that battle in the soil type of a deal which most likely saved the plant. Im not 100% positive of that but it I believe so. Good microbes just kick ars and I cant begin to tell you how beneficial they are.
that is very possible BayBHuey! the root rot would've done that. I should say that in the beginning they were doing great and then that happened. I bought a bunch of different stuff for my soil today: compost, peat moss, promix, and some happy frog. it's too flippin hot right now and if I just mix it up, I'm sure the fungus gnats will move right in. I think I might wait till the clones have rooted. The girls outside that I was going to taking cuttings from just started to flower and throw a pistil or two so it will be kinda tough to get a clone to root off of them. I was thinking about just going out there and cutting them to pieces for a ton of clones because I can't light dep them and where I live it will be horrible weather by the end of sept.
