Devil's Advocate
I've personally stopped buying BP gas because of their little... mistake (even though my CC gives me a 5% cut on price of that brand).
Not all mistakes are worthy of this measure, after all, BP relies on millions of dollars per day in purchases to survive. But not all mistakes are like this.
They fucked up majorly as far as preparation, leaving out a switch that would have allowed this shit to have been shut off soon after the fire took place. (I mean, come on, the only shut off switch for the well is located on the fucking flaming rig itself?!?!) They also went ahead and filled the burning rig with water while putting out the fire, which caused what could have otherwise been a floating flare off until fixing (arguably bad, but relatively better) to become a massive ecological disaster. So yea, planning ahead for the win! This is something that oil companies have a hard time doing, though, because they know as well as we do that oil's gonna run out some day pretty soon.
I couldn't care less who votes for what, I am just interested in whether or not this particular group of folks here uses this measure to influence the way the world is lived on or if it hasn't changed your habits at all. I know there are probably some folks in here that only ride bikes, which has got to be annoying, despite the fact that we all need oil, whether it's for a car, or not...
So yea, who is hitting them where it hurts?
