Looking thru my stacks of LP's, and trying to decide which is the best. I guess is a matter of taste but I have my preferences. Here is a short list ....

1. Rush 2112
2. Beatles White Album
3. Allman Bros Eat a Peach
4. Jethro Tull Auqalung
5. Pink Floyd Dark Side of the Moon
6. Grateful Dead Steal your Face
7. Frank Zappa All of them!

And lets go for the worst.....when I hear this song my stomach turns......
Crystal Gale.......don't it make my brown eyes...(gag) blue

Rock n Roll is not music......its a lifestyle....party on Garth!

I have to agree on Metallica's "Black Album"...great stuff from them in their prime.

You have songs like "Nothing Else Matters" and "Enter Sandman".

Metallica owned on that album.

I'm going with Led Zeppelin II. Every song on that album gets radio play to this day and I defy anyone to say one of the tracks sucks.

Cheers!

I dig Rush Chronicles.
I play it from begining to end and it's so killer to hear the differences in the band from alblum to alblum.
I think Hempy nailed it with Led though. :pimp3:

Some very fine entries so far. I have noticed the "classic" rock slant so let me be the first to bring things up to date a decade or two. Of course. I have to start with the obligatory Black Sabbath from the 70's (my prerogative :biglaugh: ).

1. Black Sabbath - Master of Reality
2. The Beatles - Sgt. Peppers (probably but so many other great ones too)
3. Queensryche - Operation Mind Crime
4. Valen Halen - Van Halen (the first one)
5. Journey - Trial By Fire (their finest and most underrated album)
6. Metallica - Ride The Lightning (the best by far!)
7. Black Sabbath - Sabbath Bloody Sabbath (my 2nd favorite Sabbath album)
8. Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon (an obvious choice, sorry)
9. Ozzy Osbourne - Blizzard of Oz

and my favorite album from my favorite band of all time . . .

10. Fates Warning - Pleasant Shade of Grey (an all time classic with the greatest drummer in Rock)

That's my :2cents: anyway!

Good ones! I saw Judas Priest and Queensryche last year. Killer show.

Yes, killer show, indeed! I would've put a Judas Priest album up there but, as much as I loved Priest, I really liked Halford's band Fight even more! So, as a bonus album, I would put Fight's "War of Words" up there as well!
