Upon further review it is the borg.
I took off a big fan leave that had the most white spots and I placed it under a very- bright light, then I steadied up the 40x magnifier and got in close and I could those little translucent eight legged bastards running around on the bottoms of the leaf.
Now I haven't had mites for years, maybe decades, and the discernible change was the mulch, so I figure that is how the mites got in. So much for trying something new.
Well anyways, now I'm going to go soap their asses.
