Where`s Bobbles when I need him.....anyways....
I'm building the room everyone else dreams of having...
RH% is important because all cellular activity involves water... Respiratory gases and nutrients are broken down and transported with water. If you're losing water to transpiration, then you're losing potential cellular activity for vegetative growth and flower production, cause instead the energy is diverted to draw up more water... and then with the water comes nutrients, or the nutrients get left behind in the medium... either way, you end up with pH and nutrient uptake issues...
So with all that in a nutshell... I've upgraded to whole house humidifiers to keep humidity up. Ultra sonic foggers are good for smaller applications, but I really need something that can keep up with my ventilation.
I run my humidity at 70% weeks 1-5, then drop it to 55% till chop. I find that as long as RH% doesn't go over 60%, I'm good... Unless I get lazy and I don't chop of dying/decaying fan leaves... That's just throwing good bud away with laziness. It helps to set the dehuey lower than the desired humidity... b/c the air by the sensor might be more dry than the air in your room when all of your plants are respiring/transpiring and releasing moisture into the air...
