high note achieved! im smoking some kush and starting the day off right
i know what you mean about how every dog has its own personality and it sounds like ego is a great friend; hopefully he takes to the shoes and you guys can enjoy some nice winter walks but if not just keep them short and sweet
i hear you about holiday shopping being tough, i try and keep my ears open for the past couple months to see what the mrs wants
for her birthday we are going camping and im going to get her a some nice container so she can organize stuff
/they are these pink plastic ammo cans that she thought were cut and rugged for her outdoor stuff
even tho i wake up at crazy times i hear what you are saying about just laying in bed
even if you arent sleeping its nice and cozy
it will take some time to adjust but we will acclimatize to the cold temps, the we can really enjoy winter
/have the lakes frozen over yet so you can ride on the ice?

@pop_rocks.
Good work brother! A bowl of kush is a great way to start the day.
How was your weekend?
I took it pretty easy last weekend and did a bunch of work in the garden. I got the 2 GB plants chopped down and the next batch of GB clones transplanted into their final pots. I'm taking down the 2 cobra lips plants tonight. After that the flower tent will be empty and I'll have a few days to move it and get it set up on the other side of the basement.
Those ammo cans sound like a great gift for your Mrs. I think that many of us could use a hand getting organized and have a good place to put things. Great idea!
The small lakes and ponds are just about frozen here. The bigger lakes I'm seeing open water in the middle but the bay's are frozen over. I don't think I've seen ice this soon before this year. The ice needs to get a little thicker before you can walk on it and a lot thicker before you can ride ice bikes. The ice tires have start screw heads that can chew through a lot of ice quickly. I've seen ruts almost a foot deep in the corners during ice races.
I hope your week is off to a good start!

happening fiddy! hope your week is starting of on the right foot
yeah, she kind of liked the ammo cans so i thought it would be a nice surprise to get her some of her own, i got her the orange plastic kind and some pink ones
the real present is going to be the camping that trip me and the boy have planned for this weekend, we are heading out to joshua tree sat morning for a few nights
its been feeling like fall here in socal until today; it was something like 70+ coastal and it only gets hotter when you head inland
but its supposed to rain this week and i wonder if its coming fro the north or is it a tropical rain
/northern rain brings the cold
i bet those screw treads tear up the ice! i have seen what an aggressive mountain bike itre can do to a trail and thats just rubber
i just remember hearing you talk about how busy it gets when people refit their bikes for ice riding and was wonering of we were at that point yet
so it looks like we are going to my friend house for thanksgiving after all
the mrs invited her cousin who lives downtown to join us for the holiday
he is kind of different and can have a hard time around people he isnt comfortable with, but hes cool with my friend and more important, my friend is cool with him
/its because the first tiem i brought him over i told everyone he was a porn star so he hit it off with all those pervs
so are you having security issues at home? you mention moving the plants to make them less obvious
hope your week is starting off on the right foot and it just gets better from here
the holidays are just around the corner and we are going to be rocking the 2020 vibe before you know it!

Good afternoon pop_rocks.
My week is off to a busy start. I spent a couple hours last night doing an initial trimming the 2 cobra lips. Then this morning I spent almost 3 hours doing final trim on the 2 gorilla bubble plants that got the chop on Thursday night. The buds are in a covered stainless bowl right now and will go on the drying rack when I get home. Once the final dry is done it goes into jars and the two I harvested last night will get the same treatment. Fun fun....well not my favorite part of things but important none the less.
Those ammo cans sound like a great present. I use to have a few of the old green metal army ones but I have no idea where they went. They are rugged and can take a beating.
I hope you have a great camping trip. Is it cold at night where your going?
Where I was in the Utah desert it was getting down into the 30's at night in mid October. Winter camping is a thing here but you need a lot of special equipment and extra warm bags to be comfortable.
Enjoy the warm weather while you can brother.
It sounds like you have a good crew to celebrate thanksgiving with. That's cool that your buddy and her cousin get along well. I hope y'all have a great time!
So I'm moving the tents to the other side of the basement and building a wall around them. Right now they are on the same side as my boiler, water heater, softener, well and other appliances. At some time I'm going to need service on something down there and I want to have the grow separate so that I don't have to worry too much about it. I will still have to cover up the plant smell but I think that is doable.
I hope your week is flying by and I know we're looking forward to the weekend already!

ok, now i see what you meant about moving the tents for added security
building out a dedicated space is next level brother! be sure to add some kind of ventilation to the space and youve got it made!
sounds like you have been one busy beaver there fiddy
your efforts are worth it from the looks of your plants and this final stage is the most important part of the grow
at this point the plants wont get any better but they can get a lot worse if not treated right
sounds like you are putting in the work and im sure your smoke shows it!
my buddy gets along with just about anyone so its not so much him, but the rest of the people he will host
last year went well and her cousin deech' got along with just about everyone and had fun
/he totally bonded with of the guys
it shouldent be that cold in the desert this tiem of year, maybe around the 40-50' range at night ; shouldent be too bad
im taking thurs off for the mrs birthday so tomorrow is like a little friday for me!
were going to the aquarium and out to lunch with my mom
oh, i dont know if i mentioned it, but we made those candies you gave me a recipe too
they came out a little harder than i wanted but they are super dank!
i guess we let them sit on the heat a little too long, so they have more of an almond roca crunch than a chewy toffee
but they are strong and taste great!
have a great day brother,i hope you are all ready for thanksgiving!
/ive been eating an extra bite at each meal

Good afternoon pop_rocks.
Yep, I think it's better to move the tents before something breaks. If my boiler went down on a cold winter day I'd only have a few hours before temps fell to the point where my pipes might freeze. I'd need to get someone in to fix it and would likely have to abort the grow in the process.
For now I'm staying in the tents, just moving them and building a wall around them so they can't be seen. Id love to build rooms to grow in but I think that will happen when we upgrade to our next house in a few years.
For sure it's been a busy few weeks but I'm at my best when kept busy. When I've got a lot of unstructured time I tend to waste it and feel unproductive.
Thanks for the compliments on the plants. I've been working hard on them and learning something every grow for about 3-1/2 years now and I think it shows in the results. I got about 6 jars of dry, trimmed bud off the 2 gorilla bubble plants and it is by far my lowest yielding strain. The cobra lips are both better yielding but not as frosty or loud.
I'm sure your Mrs cousin and y'all will have a great time. Thanksgiving is the best for eating, watching football and taking a nice nap after the meal!
That is great you have Thursday off and get to enjoy you Mrs b-day with her. The aquarium sounds like a fun date. I have been to the big aquarium in Chicago and it's pretty cool.
I was wondering if you made another batch of caramel. How did the molds work out?
I think with candy the hotter you get it the harder it gets when it cools down. I'm glad it turned out well and is dank.
Have a great day and enjoy having tomorrow off!

has it really been over three years since you started growing?!?
it dosent seem like its been that long but i guess when you are having fun time flies by
im all set for the day off and cant wait to enjoy my day
plus its been raining here and there is nothing better than waking up to a nice heavy rain and a good smoke!
that is so funny about your feelings re: unstructured time
im kind of on the opposite end of the spectrum and enjoy the hell out of my nothing days
but i am at a stage in life where i feel like ive accomplished a lot of the things i dreamed of doing when i was younger
maybe its just a mid life crisis or maybe im just growing tired of the endless rat race that seems to be life in socal
i will post up some pics of the candy soon
thanks again for the recipe and we are really happy with how they have turned out
it looks like the rain has stopped for the time being and we are talking about taking a nice walk
hope you are having a great week and things are widning down for you brother!

Good afternoon pop_rocks.
It sure doesn't seem like it's been 3-1/2 years but it has brother. I joined icmag in June of 2016, about half way through flower on my first grow. Your so right, time flys when your having fun!
I hope your having a great day off and your Mrs is having a great birthday!
Some days I can let myself get away without doing anything productive but when I have projects to do and don't make any progress it can get me down a bit. It seem like lately there has always been plenty of projects that need to get done.
Enjoy the day brother!

Greetings pop_rocks.
How was your trip brother? I'd love to see some pics and hear about it a bit.
Did you get home in time to see that game last night? I know you've been rooting for the Rams but they looked just about as bad as the packers did on Sunday night. After seeing the game on Sunday I'm not sure how Green Bay is still in first place and 8-3. They just looked like they weren't even in the same league as SF. Good thing it's just a game and there are other things to entertain us most of the year.
How did that camping hatchet work for you? I use to have one of those but haven't seen it in many years. They make great hammers and the hatchet was a great chopper.
So we are just about to thanksgiving, my favorite food Holliday. I can already tast the mashed potatoes, stuffing, gravy and turkey. I'm going to an aunts house this year that I haven't been to for thanksgiving before and I hope the food is great. If not I'll have to throw something together at home.
I'm hope your week is off to a great start brother!

Happy Thanksgiving jungle mates. Hope everyone has a great holiday. It's been a challenging year, I am thankful that we made it through.in hindsight we got a lot to be thankful for.

@ Pop Rocks hope you had a great camping trip. Joshua tree is nice in the fall. It does get pretty darn cold in the desert at night . We are getting some snow now.

@ Fiddynuts, ice biking sounds wild. So, you got a keeper cobra lips, and GB. It's nice to have a little variety. 3 and half years growing you have made a ton of progress. Sounds like you have a nice stash.

I am not growing right now. Me and the wife had some issues. She killed my plants. Sucks, pissed me off , but I was getting a little schetched about the kids finding things, so it may be best for now. We are working things out. It was my fault, so it's better than not having the family together.

My wife and my mom went in together and bought me a trager smoker. Man I love that thing. I smoked an 11 pound pork shoulder on Sunday, been eating on that all week. The wife made 17 dozen cookies and a bunch of other goodies yesterday. I am going to have to go on a diet for 2020.

I hope you guys have a great holiday. I am looking forward to sleeping in for 4 days.

Greetings!

Greetings!

Greetings friends.

I hope everyone had a great thanksgiving and got their fill of all the wonderful food of the season. I ate plenty but not enough to be too uncomfortable. I had an hour drive home and didn't want to fall asleep at the wheel due to food coma.

@Packerfan. Thank you brother for the kind words!
Ice bikes are a blast to ride but not for the faint of heart. We run 1000-1500 razor sharp screws into each tire and the traction is unmatched but anything I've ever ridden. The bikes hook so well you can just about lean them over far enough to drag your elbows in the corners. The down side is that if you fall off and get tangled up with the bike it can shred you pretty good.

I'd say I'm still on the fence about weather I've got a keeper in the CL#2. It yields well but isn't nearly as frosty as I'd like and dosent have the RKS that I'm looking for. I'm going to run her again in a coup,e months and see how she does this time. The GB checks all the boxed for flavor, potency, and nice dense buds, I just wish she would yeild a little better. I topped the GB girls that I just flipped last week really early and I've got 4 main stems on each and I'm hoping that will help with yeild on this run. We will know in a couple months.

In the mean time I popped 6 seeds of the Blue Dot X Irene F2's that you sent me with the cobra lips. I plan on running females from these seeds two runs from now. Have you grown these out? I don't know anything about the mom or dad, if you know about these please let me know what you know.

I'm sorry to hear about your plants and grow. You have a great attitude about this and I really commend you for staying positive. You have been through a lot and always seem to keep it positive and that is a great strength you have. Keep it up and you'll figure out something for a grow soon I'm sure.

Congratulations on getting that smoker brother! Those tragers work really nicley. Even though I've told people that electric cookers are cheating when it comes to BBQ I'm always kidding about that. The results speak for themselves. I'm probably secretly a little jealous that I have to mess around with charcoal and it takes me an hour or an hour and a half for my pit to come up to temp.

Have a great weekend brother!

Hey Fiddynuts,

Yeah. I kinda thought it was cheating, but after using the trager I was super impressed. I got a screaming deal on it. I found a random website that had it for 385, free shipping and no tax. Every where else it was 700 or more. I have a charcoal smoker also, but it gets use as a big bbq for parties more than anything. The barrel isn't sealed very well, so when the wind picks up it's hard to hold temp.

Not quite sure what blue dot is. I think it's a northern lights cross. The irene is a wicked good og cut, definitely a chance for some keepers there. I haven't grown any myself.

With no grow I find myself bored, been going to bed early. Nothing to keep me occupied. If I do start something new. I am thinking about running some mephisto autos, I have been waiting to see what all the hype is about. I have even heard from a few guys who are only running mephisto autos. They finish in 65-75 days from sprout, most photos take that long to flower.

Usually my solution for lower yielding strains is to run more plants, and lollypop them fairly high. I have always run fairly high numbers. I was running 125 plants in the shed, plus veg and clones easily 250-300 plants. Go big or go home.

We had a pretty great Thanksgiving, first time we had snow this early. It's almost all melted now. I was fully comatose for a couple hours.

Good morning Packerfan.
I'm with you on how nice those smokers are. My buddy who taught me how to BBQ use to use all coal and wood smokers for his competition team and they work great but are a lot more work to get going and holding temp takes practice and effort. Now that he has a BBQ food truck and sells BBQ for a living he has one of those fancy gas smokers that burns LP and wood. Set the temp with a dial like an oven and start cooking. Now you can just concentrate on the cook and enjoy more time with the family and friends. That's a great price and I'm glad your digging cooking with it.

Thanks for the info on the strain. I did some googling on it and it looks like blue dot is an old medical strain with NL and haze. Sounds like it could be a great cross and I'm looking forward to running however many ladys I get. All 6 that I planted came right up and they look vigorous. Irene looks great too!

I can see where you would feel a bit bored without a grow to keep you busy. We spend a lot of time with our plants don't we. Running a few autos is a great idea. In my limited experience autos are a lot of fun to grow. Maybe if you had a cabinet or small room that you could lock you and your wife could find some middle ground and compromise and you could get a small grow going. I'm sure you will work something out.

Running more plants is a great idea and was something I was considering. I was thinking a bunch of plants in smaller pots would be better for the gorilla bubble. She like to stretch and dosent get very bushy so I could pack a bunch in to the 3x3. Maybe I'll give that a shot next time I run her.

Thanks again for the info and the beans brother...have a great weekend...fiddy.

Hey Pop Rocks,

Glad you had a nice camping trip. It's been down right frigid here lately, so in the wide open desert I bet it was cold. I got my kids some new sleeping bags for xmas. They are 10degree bags, so maybe In a couple years they might be up to some cold weather camping.

The trager is a pellet grill. Has a digital read out for temp, 2 probes for the meat. Set it and forget it. It's a pain to clean, but it's worth it.

Can't believe the year is almost over. Looking forward to xmas. We are headed back to the mountains for our annual new years weekend. A good friend who used to work with me, is going to be up there also.

Still trying to figure out what to get the wife for xmas. I bought he some naughty lingerie, but she got that early. Plus it's really for me. Ha ha

Update and pics.

Update and pics.

Greetings friends.
I hope everyone's week is going well! Mine has been busy and is going by quickly. All of a sudden it's Thursday and the week is just about over. I'm looking forward to the weekend, especially Saturday afternoon for the big10 championship game. My Wisconsin Badgers won the B10 west and the right to get whooped by Ohio state in the championship game. I'm not expecting our little team to beat the #1 ranked Ohio state but anything could happen I guess.

@pop_rocks. I'm glad you had a great time camping brother! I've been missing the outdoor activities lately. Your so right about the best time for a camp fire being when ther is a chill in the air and the heat feels great.
Thanksgiving was nice. I got to see some of my dads sisters and family that I don't see very often. The food was good and so was the conversation.
I must say that I'm a bit in denial about Christmas being here so soon. I'm still not sure what to get for the wife and time is running out. My wife already has all the shopping done for all of our family and even everyone's pets so I just need to get something for her and my bro and my dad I think. I will think of something.
I've been busy in the jungle but enjoyed my time for the most part.
I'll be sure to toss the ball and give Eggo some nice pats for you.

@Packerfan. I'm glad you are going back to the cabin in the mountains again this year. Are you taking any shrooms with you? I've been getting some great albino envies lately.

It's been a while so time to update y'all on what I've got going in the jungle right now.
In the flower tent are 4 gorilla bubble plants. This will be the 4th time I've run her I think and she has been better quality every time so far. I've had some mixed runs with her and other strains the last couple times and it's all her this run. Here is a pic of them this morning at lights off. They are on day 10 of 12/12.

In the veg tent I've got a couple of gorilla bubble moms and a couple of cobra lips moms too. I'm going to be taking cuts of the cobra lips in the next couple weeks and they will be vegged for the next flower run. The last run was the cobra lips #1 and she was a lot less flavorful that the cobra lips #2 that I got the run before. Based on that I ditched the CL#1 and I've only got one pheno of cobra lips going forward.

And in my under stairs overflow area I've got 6 seedlings. They are Blue dot X Irene f2's that were gifted to me (thanks Pf). I don't know who the breeder is but I'm going to grow out clones of any females and see what I've got. Here is a pic of the baby's.

The jungle has plenty going that should keep me busy for a bit.

What's up Fiddynuts,

No on the shrooms. I heard through the grapevine, my guy has dropped off the map. Kinda schetched about calling him. Word is his 15 year old son had a bunch of his friends over partying and there was a legal issue. He has a few warehouses and a couple houses that are weed and fungus production spots. He's deep into the psychedelics. All his social media is gone.

I have gotten some of the albino envies from him, but I didn't keep any for myself. I hear they are way stronger than the normal cubenis. I may have to see what I can find elsewhere.

I am pretty sure the blue dot x irene came from baked beanz.
