Happy Tuesday tribe.

I've been offline for a couple days this weekend due to spring and now summer weather finally arriving. Two weeks ago we were digging out from a big snow storm and were bracing for more snow, today it's in the mid 80's and feels like mid summer. After such a cold spring it was so nice to get out and spend time doing outdoor activities.

@Rodehazrd. I'm still trying to source the lime, was able to find the gypsum at the hardware store. Also have to find some soft rock phosphate. As soon as I find it I'll mix some up and give it a go. Hoping for a great result. I hope your getting great weather and enjoying some kayaking.

@pop_rocks. I've got that block of coco that I got a few months back I'll try to sub some for the perlite that I usually add to the mix.
So I finally got to ride the new bike this weekend. On Sunday I rode the state park trails in the kettle moraine that were around back in the 90's where I use to ride. For a first ride it went really well. The place has changed a lot since I was there last. Lots of tight singlet track with a great mix of climbing and technical descents. On Monday I tried out a new spot that is closer to home. The new spot was not as hilly but had a lot of very tight technical single track. The bike performed really well for me. The extra big contact patch on the tires felt great for climbing and the front felt nice and planted in the loose sandy soil in more aggressive corners. My endurance felt pretty good, but I think I use some diffrent muscles than I use on the exercise bike. Also the seat on the stationary bike is big and soft and my ass will need conditioning for a mountain bike seat. So far so good I'm looking forward to my next ride. I hope your weekend rocked and your week is off to a great start. Here is a pic of the new ride, trailside at the John Muir stare trails.

Jungle update.
I was watering this morning and got a couple pics of the red eye Jedi plants that are a couple weeks into flower. They seem pretty happy and are filling the space nicley. Soon I'm going to give them a good lollipoping and maybe pull a few fans off. These girls are a bit more leafy than my last couple. I'll do a more complete jungle update this week and try to get some better pics.

glad to hear things are starting to warm up, fiddy
the new bike looks rad! love the blazing orange color
i bet the larger footprint feels good in the loose stuff
are those rocket ralph/ rons on the ride? those are some nice tires for stock
you maybe want to put something more aggressive up front but thats kind of rider preference
/im running a maxis ardent up front right now and a crossmark in back, this is my xc/ all mountain set up; when it gets slpoppy i like to run a ground control in back with the more aggressive ardent in front
im glad you had fun riding and im sure this is just the first of many great rides
sounds like you have a lot of great trails in your area and i look foreward to hearing more about them
the plants look really good for early flower
i think lolipopping is a great idea, you can already see the start of a nice fat top in your first pic
the weekend was great! the girl got her drivers licence the other day and when i asked what she would like to celibrate she said to grill her some chicken!
im working on a new dry rub, one that uses powdered chipolte and it came out great
hope your week is going great too,my man
its turned cold and grey here in so cal, but the weeeknd is supposed to be nice
im ready for spring!

Good afternoon pop_rocks.

I'm a fan of that orange as well. My toolbox is the same orange. The bike feels great, although it is going to take some time to get comfortable on it. Like you said the big tires really are nice in the loose stuff. The new spot I checked out on Monday has a lot of loose sandy switchbacks with just a little berm and the fast downhill ones I could feel that I needed all the traction I could get. The bike came with rocket Ron's, which I've heard are pretty good. When I do change tires I'll be going to some tubeless ones to save the weight, but for now these will be fine. I will have to hit you up with tire questions/suggestions when the time is right. The fat tubes are so big it's hard to even get them in my camelback.

For sure the red eye jedis are looking better in the new soil than they were before flower and repot. I'm still not sure what was going on but I think they are heading in the right direction. I'm defenatley going to be more aggressive when lollipoping these girls, I saw last run how much that helps cut the larf and puts the energy into the higher buds. I'm going to take some leaves off of them too, top down to open up the bud sights to the light.

That's great that the girl got her drivers license (and probably kind of scary for a parent). That is a great compliment to your chicken that she likes it so much that she wants it for a special occasion. I love powered chipotle, the smokiness scores through really well.

I hope your week is rocking too brother. Time for the cold and gray to burn off and get you some nice weather...Fiddy.

that is awesome that you have an orange toolbox as well
its cool to rock the crazy colors and it makes your stuff stand out (therefore easy to identify)
you might want to air down the tires if you find the need for more traction, are you loosing grip totally or just sliding around a bit (drifting)
i tend to run my tires a little on the hard side, but we cover a lot of flat miles to get to the good stuff and i dont mind a little drift
also weight placement is important and you want to keep the inside pedal most weighted in the corners
/but being a moto rider im sure your weight placement is pretty good
i tried tubeless once myself but found it to be a total pita
in a pinch i bet you could cram a 29" tube in that fattie and just pump her up really good
/i have a 29er and have used 26" tubes when in a pinch
i will do my best to help, even if its just to offer feedback
/tire choice is very subjective and depends a lot on your riding style as well as terrain
the other thing i consider is replace the stock pedals with something a little gripper
what kind of pedals did the rosco come with?
glad to hear you are enjoying the new bike, my man!
yeah i tend to really lollipop my stuff but im not really growing for weight as much as head stash
it also makes it easier to water and maintain the plants
so do you have any plans for the weekend,f'nut?
its supposed to be back in the 70's here so it should be a nice weekend to get outside

hey p'fan
how did the move go
do you guys like the new place
hope the mrs is happy and the boys are doing well
its almost the end of the school year for them, yeah?
got any plans for the summer

Hey Jungle mates, the move was a pain but it's done. Now I am having issues getting my deposit back. The owner is claiming the management company has it. Management company is claiming the owners have it. We are settled in. Yeah kids have 3 weeks left.

that sucks about getting the run around to get your deposit back, have you threatened to lawyer up yet?
even if you dont do it, sometimes that will throw a scare into them, who did you pay the check to?
/thats the one you need to go after; but please keep in mind i have no idea what im talking about, bruh

Been there, done that.

Unfortunately, they require money orders for the first few months. It's just a screwed situation. The owners explained to us that when they contacted the management company, about selling the house. The mgmt company, stopped representing the owners, because they were going through a different real estate agent. Owners can't get the file to show who was in possession of the deposit.

This mgmt company is garbage. The owners are ok, but fake. He keeps dropping the military card. I get it, people myself included respect military men. That doesn't mean I am ok with getting the run around.

Happy Friday tribe.

@Rodehazrd. How about a derby update brother, and how are the mint juleps this year (haha just kidding about the juleps)? I hope the town is jumping and you guys are having a great time.

@pop_rocks. I'm running about 20 psi in the tires for the first couple rides but I'll be playing with pressure a bit in the future. I've been told that you can go down to like 15 psi with tubes and even a little lower with tubeless. As with most things it's a matter of finding some balance, more air is less resistance and less is better traction. I'm like you and don't mind the tires and bike moving around a bit under me, as long as it's predictable. I will have to work on my weight placement a bit, it's way diffrent than riding a motorcycle, but the basic principles are similar. I'm sure your right that a normal tube would streach in a pinch, always better to use a smaller tube than an oversized one. The Roscoe came with some plastic peddles that went straight into the garbage can. I got some cool shimanos that have clips on one side and flats on the other. I still had my sidi bike shoes and I ride clipped in most of the time. We have had a couple days of rain and storms so it dosent look like I'll be doing any trail riding this weekend, but Sunday is the slimy crud run motorcycle ride. It starts west of Madison and is a great ride with 100's of bikers from all over the Midwest that show up for it. We usually put 200-300 miles on and make a whole day of it. I hope the nice weather returns for you and you get out for some outdoor fun. Have a great weekend!

@Packerfan. I'm glad you are all moved in but sorry to hear that you are being dicked around about your deposit. I'm sure you have legal recourse but unless you are or want to hire a lawyer it won't be easy. It's allmost like they make it so difficult that they hope you will give up. Good luck and I hope you get resolution soon.

@caljim. I'm glad to see you here in the jungle. Thanks for helping advise. I've been on a diet since January and haven't had any frozen custard since it started, I need to get a turtle Sunday soon LOL.

:rtfo::rtfo:Hello Tribe
We're up to Derby City on Derby Eve and its rocking. Tourist are sucking down Mint Julips and mint simple syrup is being stored in the fridge for tomorrows abuse of perfectly good bourbon. The Belle of Louisville won the steamboat race
I only got a look at Bob Baffert's horses on Thursday morning dawn at the downs and although I hate to pick the Favorite Justify looks like Secretariat and let out a whinney when he hit the track like he owned the place. At seven to two he's the one to beat. He got the seven hole in the pill pull so he should break clean. Damn big horse
Oh my breaks over:tiphat:

This is a nice spot you guys have cleared out of the jungle.... a little wild, no jungle pests (except maybe me), just a chill spot to be.

If there is still room I wouldn't mind stopping in to pass some time and a doobie occasionally.

@Packerfan...Fingers crossed it gets sorted without too much teeth mashing on your part. Some things are just never easy.

Tasty looking cookies @Handyman. Nicely done.

@Rodehazard...Please have one for me and enjoy the race.

I'm winding down from a long day and garden chores...trying some of this recently harvested Atonic Net.

Its a cbd/thc hybrid plant. Darlin's Net (high THC) x (Perkins cut x Good Medicine) ..both high cbd

This one is more Sativa in growth with a decent balance of thc from the Darlin's Net.

Tastes slightly like a smoked cherry flavored cough drop... if that makes sense. Calming the body while creating an introspective mind. Goes really well with custard, lol.

Hope everyone has a great weekend and thanks for letting me crash the scene.

welcome aboard caljim
nice plants,man
looks like those buds are ready to go into a jar for the final cure and should provide some nice smoke
if you are looking for a nice chill place to post, you found it brother!
stick around and please feel free to share whatever is on your mind

nice buds,handyandy!
beautiful color and frost, how many weeks does your cross take to flower?

whatup f'nut
we finally made it to the weekend, my man
last week was crazy busy and im glad its finally the weekend
the moto rally sounds rad and i hope you guys have fun on your ride
is this something the mrs enjoys along with you?
good move upgrading your pedals and it sounds like you are getting the new bike dialed in
i never got into the clip-ins, but most of the people i know ride like that
ive heard pf people running less that 10psi tubeless with no problem
if you decide to go tubeless, be sure to pick up one of those c02 tire inflators
i use one myself because they are easiy to carry super fast on the trail compared to a regular pump
but you will also need one to get the "burst" of air needed to set your bead so it might be something to look out for
hope you have a great weekend brother and enjoy your ride

Nice to see some new faces here in the jungle. This definitely one of the chill threads. Fiddynuts you started something special.

Caljim, those are some nice looking buds. I read so.ewhere that the cbd stuff tends to have a cherry flavor. I look forward to a smoke report.

Happy Cinco De Mayo, or Cinco De drinko as I call it to all the jungle mates. I am not drinking saving that bodily punishment for Friday.

What is Friday you ask?

SLAYER IS FRIDAY. woo hoo, can't wait. Good thing I have Monday off too.I need to blow off some steam, badly.

Hello Andy and Caljim welcome to the Tribe.
Fiddy keeps it interesting and as we share and learn together my plants have sure gotten healthier. Pop, Packer and Badfishy have the most experience and have helped us newbies grow better over the last few years. None here are so proud of ourselves we can't learn or accept new ideas. So post it up and tell us what you think. We all have different setups and therefore different methods and sources for materials.

Happy Monday tribe.

First I'd like to thank you guys for all the nice messages and for your contributions to this thread. It is only as good as the members that participate and you guys make it great. We have a good thing going here and it seems to be getting better with new faces, let's keep it up.

@handyandy. Those are looking great brother. Feel free to post up bud porn anytime in these parts. Good luck with the seeds and I hope you are rewarded with some killer smoke. I have 6 bodhi GSC crosses in veg (granola funk) that I'm having a hard time keeping healthy, usually the problems don't start untill flower for me.

@Rodehazrd. You sure know how to pick them rode, did you put any money on justify. I had to work Saturday and didn't get to see the race. Sounds like you had a great weekend.

@caljim. Welcome back to the jungle. There is plenty of room for all. Those buds are looking great! I like your description and you are right that buds and frozen custard are a great combo. Did I mention that I love bud porn?

@pop_rocks. The crud run ride yesterday was epic brother. The weather was nice and the land was so green, looking like it should in spring. There was a great turnout and I saw many people from all over the upper Midwest, probably thousands of riders participating. The wife use to go on the back of the bike when we were younger but haven't been much the last few years. She would have not wanted to get up and hit the road early with us either, she likes to stay up really late and sleep in. I like the clip peddles so I can push and pull with the legs up the steep hills, and the new style clips are so much easer to unclipped from. You make a great point about inflating a tubeless tire, you ne d a large volume of air to seat the bead or you arnt going anywhere. I hope your weekend was good as well and your week is off to a great start.

@Packerfan. I hope you got some relaxing in last weekend after all the moving you have been doing. I can't wait to hear about the slayer show, let's hope they play some of the good stuff from haunting the chapel, show no mercy and reign in blood!

What's up jungle mates, Fiddynuts, I agree hope slayer plays some early stuff. Reign in blood is my favorite album.

Pop Rocks, my birthday is on the 21st. I am getting that planned. Going to fire up the smoker. A couple racks of ribs, tri tip, and some sausages. Been getting the liquor cabinet stocked. Just need some Cazadores margarita Mix, and beer. 39 is a heavy drinking birthday In my book.

Badfishy, did you ever start using coco?
