People will adapt after an economic collapse. No one can adapt to a global nuclear wasteland.
The end of humanity will either be war or environmental collapse.
We're fucking up this place!

It seems like the leaders of the world just do whatever to put off this crisis. They just don't want it to happen on their watch.

I realize people won't just share it there isn't nearly enough for everyone. People are so spoiled now that a day without their iPad or smartphone seems like a crisis. But what if the power goes out and the satellite networks stop for a long time?

The likelihood of economic failure doesn't seem remote at all but on that prep per show they say it's very unlikely.

It could be far worse than the depression really because there are so many more people.

I don't think I am really ready to face beyond thunder dome and road warriors stuff but I have a good truck for road raging. Probably need a lot more gasoline.

Some think our problems could be easily solved but I don't. There are just too many huge problems getting worse everyday to ignore.

What is the biggest problem? Overpopulation...the ticking time bomb!!!

It causes most of our big problems like pollution...the ocean is a sewer and global warming is quite inconvient indeed. Peak oil is probably here and cracking creates methane in the air which is far worse than co2 which is from so many of us eating beef and pork and using electricity and driving around and such.

Will we look forward and think long term? No. That isn't politically feasible and the economy always comes first over environment or human lives with little value left.

Soon humans may not be needed much except the rich and some guys who run the robots.

I am glad I am old and that I had a good life. Cheers...

I don't know about economic collapse.

Perhaps economic redefinition?

Prepare for basic necessities to be more sought due to "suppliers" drying up when money means nothing.

I just don't see how the dollar retains it's value under the circumstances and world leaders try to borrow their way out of debt.

Shortages will of course become severe eventually but war or major economic disruption creates anarchy and people could panic if in large cities.

So even if you think trouble is coming a lot of ammo won't solve all your problems.

Preparedness consists of many things and I am not counting on the aliens helping us.

We will need to deal with our problems whether we want to or not. America is like an old cadillac low on gas but pushing ninety. The tires are bare and the upholstery is worn and faded. We have the top down and we know it's a beautiful day but we just don't have enough gas to make the next pump.

Despite this we still pick up hitch hikers because we love to help poor folks out but the engine is overheating and oil is low. I think I hear a rod knock!

Get your shiit together stoners...

lame or pointless as it sounds america could have saved the world, still can.. but now its people are contemplating blowing each other's heads off over a packet of potato chips and barricading themselves in whilst its foreign policy makes the whole world hate the usa partly because of its neocolonial puppet president ordering people to be blown up by drones which is of all things a threat to future global racial relations and will create dividions on all sorts of fronts potentially imo..

with wisdom instead of paranoia you can take the power back but time is short and everyone waited literally to see one of the four horsemen before they even decided that in actual fact they were going to get harvested like had been warned for hundreds of years after all..

credit debt and thus subsequent toxic bubbles, trading rights eventually for a temporary "easier" life, was the light of the angler fish's lure that everyone swam towards..

i've got a rain water collection system that currently holds 330 gallons (need to expand that).

i've also got a greenhouse that is kept cool by a 100 watt solar panel and 12V DC fan. (need to expand to include a controller, batteries and more wattage).

i have much more work to do in prep for a doomsday scenario and don't think the thought doesn't cross my mind everyday.

btw, links to rain system and GH in my sig if your interested.

If congress doesn't find a solution to this sequester shit by the end of this month, just another mere 4 days, the US will get a taste of what is to come. Welfare cuts to millions of people will not just be overlooked nicely. But they won't let the automatic spending cuts just happen. will surprise me if they do.

The only thing keeping the US from full out depression is welfare, social security and unemployment benefits. If those social welfare programs fall apart you will go from a "recession" to a great depression in the blink of an eye, as the types of safety nets were created after the great depression to keep it from happening again, until you exhaust all funds that is.

^^^100% correct. People gonna eat. Just depend to what extremes they'll go to to get the food.
Nothing bothers the rich,,,,,until the poor completely run out of options and take matters into their own hands.

well said, if the economy crashes to the extent people are out scavenging for food the rich are fucked.

The sequester is all blown up. Obama is trying to scare everyone with cuts that are not going to happen. For example he said local police and fire departments will be hit hard...less police and fire personal to 'help' people. That is straight up BS as 95% of their funding is from the local and state level.

I might add that the prez has instructed congress that any cuts must come from the discretionary fund...which makes up around 30 something percent of the budget. Mandatory spending items{ie..social security and other entitlements} shall not be touched.

Sequester would force congress to cut (proposed)spending..a good thing IMO.

The sequester will only slow down the spending...for a minute. Their spending 'wish list' will take a tiny hit...but they will still spend more than ever! This year, next year and on...

The sequester only cuts the rate of spending...

some fun....
