Do Men Assume Women Can't Grow?

In 'general' I would agree that men are the greater risk takers (except in casinos perhaps LOL). Over the years have noticed that in places where growing can be likened to a mild slap on the wrist, like in NL, Spain, and some N American states, there seems to be a larger number of lady growers....so would stand to reason the lessor the risk, the more lady growers.

Hi DG.
My girl friend is becoming quite the grower. Just last summer she took her first batch of clones with no help from me and they all lived. My last batch I took several dozen at least and at least 10 never rooted.(although I did leave town for 2 days and over watered)
She is still nowhere as close to as passionate about growing as I am but she's in it for the long run and I'm proud of her. I think you and other female growers would be too.

My gf doesn't want trouble with law. She's pretty ok with weed in general, she once even named a couple of plants I had outdoors and nurtured them. :smokeit:

Gender isn't what counts when the talk is about able growers. Both genders do gardening but a psychoactive plant gets more male attention while women are often interested in food plants and pretty plants.

On the contrary, some of the best gardeners (not necessarily pot farmers :joint: ) were women I knew. I can only imagine that kind of skill could easily carry over to some lush ganja gals.

Im still new to this... really new.. but want to learn as much as possible. When I wasnt "legal".. I felt really freaked too cause I dont want my son taken from me... but now im legal im not worried about it.. I think a lot of women with children have a lot more to lose than someone who doesnt.. thats just my opinion tho

I think that women don't tend to want to be outlaws....we think about tomorrow and the next day, not just today. To be honest, if it were not for my partner....I probably wouldn't be growing(I've seen the nasty side of things, sorry but thanks TO him)...or maybe just a personal grow.

I fully believe in growing...it's just after seeing so much negativity and sorrow caused by growing and being around cannabis, I just don't have the god damn energy anymore to freakin' care sometimes. Sometimes my attitude about growing is absolute shit....but here I am, and I am proud that I'm not laying down and dying for an unjust law. Sometimes though, I know life can be easier the other way. I'm a Libra, I just don't make up my mind.

Lady growers are waaaay hotter than dudes and I think they just generally have an appeal that strikes a lot of guys as strange/sexy/cool...mysterious. I think it catches them off gaurd....just safe to assume MOST growers are men, but that's changing;)

I'm glad I unloaded some cash on your drop DG....growing your beans means a lot to me as a woman. And I'm secretly waiting to see how many of your strains boot something else out of my garden..hehehe.

Y'know, sometimes I use the word 'guy' or 'guys' in a kind of unisexual way. I mean, I've often heard women refer to themselves in that way - as in saying things like "what do you think guys?" and not "what do you think girls?". In the real word I've often been the only man in a room full of women and still referred to one or two as man - as in saying something like 'no way man, get the fuck out of here' :D lol. It's not in a discriminatory way though - more in the way of being good buddies :) When men get comfortable being friends with women they somehow or another just slip into that mode where they refer to them the same as they would their male friends.

As far as me and my opinion of women growers goes - well it was a woman grower who got me into growing in the first place :D I have an aunt who grows hydro in London and she produces some kickass weed regular as clockwork but she's the only women I know (until now) who's taken that path. Last I saw/smoked was some Blueberry and it was absolutely delicious. I've seen some wicked plants been grown by women over the years but I'll tell you what I've noticed - not a lot of women growers go for the indoor grow and even less for the hydroponics. Perhaps it is all that plumbing and wiring - who knows? Tell you what though - it only makes women like yourselves all the more appreciated ;)

well i havent started growing just yet, still trying to get all the right info. but i know that once i start, i'll be fantastic at it! Mainly cuz of all the helpful info im getting. so maybe the guys think we can't grow but we know the truth! :)

from my experience. guys do better in the field of growing marijuana, due to the fact of being able to keep their mouths shut. girls have alotta emotions which sometimes can hinder their succes. however, as far as a green thumb goes... girls win hands down. i"ve seen the best buds come from ladies..must be the tlc : ) or their god given patience.

Hmm.. well it depends where these women morally stand in life. I'd love to meet a lady grower, aboslutely bliss nurturing together, children and plants...

I think the hard fact still remains the realisation. That its actually a possibility...and heavily linked to how much they generally smoke. IMHO anyway...

I've suggested to one heavy toker before about it,but she-her personality will get her into a lot of trouble and i've since removed myself from her essence... Its a tough choice or road to even motivate a women whos unmotivated.

It's something that transcends deep beyond just women. Currently im finding it a hard time to 'open' my peoples eyes so to speak. Not one of them are willing to put seed to soil and see it through, even if i gave them a clone and all they needed to do was an outdoor grow to get them with the grips... But no,if i find a way to get the lads to grow then i'll apply partially what worked there,to women, since we aren't much different and i believe in equality and oneness.. SHe < One...

I think 'some' guys think that women can't grow (as good as them).. i've never personally met any female growers in the part of cali that im in... but it really makes sense if you think about it.. would you rather BUY your weed, or smoke your OWN weed?!?!

I think hands down, I trust my own sh*t....

I think the reason why we tend to associate smoking with u 'are to be found in the male habit of smoking history itself: the first evidence of' use of smoking affect religious rites. Obviously the religious practices of pre-Columbian societies were, in law, the prerogative of the priestly caste men: a way as an 'another to assert their dominance over women. A tradition that was imported with the tobacco plant in old Europe: Many indicators are the texts of literature and the 700 's 800. In the literature were described only smoking men, the majority of women who smoked were instead described as whores. From here you have created a distorted idea of the figure of the cigarette, purely sexist: a practice tolerated if practiced by 'man, an attitude unbecoming if practiced by women. In short, a way as any to re-affirm the social status that prevailed until a few centuries ago: the supposed supremacy of 'Sula man woman. Being able to do what others are denied: a way to demonstrate power. And these cultural figures have been handed down to our own, inevitably conditioned. Moreover, the Freudian symbolism might even venture hypotheses in the phallic sense: the cigarette fact, as the cigar (and pipe?: D) are symbols that, to some theories, reminiscent of a male penis. In short the answer to why we generally tend to associate smoking with a 'masculine habit can be summed up in this: Culture. is like seeing a piss on the floor: Do not ever think it was a woman to have done? Why? because in our cultural heritage act of passing urine is associated with all male animal that marks the territory. Sorry for bad english, i tryed to do my best to explain my teories. I hope to be clear; and aliciotta, say thanks for what i have done for you! :p Now you owe me a smoke session :D

It's not that I think women can't grow cannabis, but that for the most you all appear not to.

Where I live, there are quite a few hydro type stores to choose from. There is one at which two or three women are employed, but I've never seen lone female customers in any of the stores. It has simply never happened. I've seen obvious girlfriends/wives of actively shopping customers, but that is different and also rare.

It's a different story altogether at the regular "gardening centers." Those places are teeming with women.
