In terms of health. but not ritualistic fun!

When yer 'ritualistic fun' starts causing pain and lung damage, you may modify yer opinion, if you ever smoke enough daily.

It may not cause cancer, but smoking large amounts medicinally will bugger yer lungs....I was up to an OZ a week or a gram of BHO a day, and my lungs were totally mashed up.

That's why I switched to my cappies....and I feel 100% better.

And never been as baked, as consistently.

Yeah, it just isn't worth it.

It too me a while to really yank myself out of the mindset that any form of smoking is acceptable. I found myself justifying smoking telling myself, ah, it's just weed, it's ok.

But it's really just the same as any smoking habit. It's gross and cosmically unhealthy. The ritual must get thrown out the door, or at least saved for very rare occasions.

Hooray for eating

Cannabis is an expectorant....

Cannabis is an expectorant....

And it is way easier on your bod than tobacco (IMHO tobacco is only fit for potpourris and killing insects!) If you want to compare the two start reading!

Yeah but do the expectorant properties of cannabis outweigh the negatives associated with smoking? Doubtful, in my opinion.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I was under the impression that smoking anything decreases the amount of oxygen to your lungs, and increases things like carbon monoxide. I don't think weed can change the basic properties of smoke and tar.

In sweden they use swedish snus...google it. the way they cure the tobacco it doesn't cause cancer issues...

if ur gonna smoke smoke organic non-additive...or just non-additive... geez man do u really need to be addicted to thousands of chemicals they add.

life is really simple

fr33th : to get back to the original post ... i have been a member of an on-line quit-smoking (tobacco) group for several years now . when i quit, i was coughing up green (not black) gunk. for me , it lasted a few weeks. others have reported coughing up black stuff for a similar length of time, so you should be getting very near the end now. quitting cigarettes is the best move i ever made, if the cancer doesnt get you, the emphysema or stroke will. the problem is, as pops stated earlier, when we start smoking we are usually in our mid-teens, and sickness and death are things that happen to other people.

newbgrow, you are probably right in that smoking anything is not good. However, vaping mj will actually open up the air sacs in the lungs. People like me with COPD are actually helped by this. As a side effect, THC also dilates veins and arteries and helps with hypertension.

Proud to say I`ve quit tobacco after 10 years of smoking. Its only been 2-3 weeks, but I don`t think I`m ever going back.

With the $800 or so a year I save I can easily justify buying a vape. Think I will get a Vapormatic Deluxe. :D
Will still smoke pipe/bub/joints when out and about though.

Hello all,

Started smoking cigeretts in the summer of my fiftenth year.

Joined the Navy in the spring of my sevententh year.

Started smoking MJ in the fall of that same year.

I quit cigerettes in the winter of my forty third year.

I am now fortyeight.

Cigerettes in retrospect were a mistake. The many thousands of dollars spent. The hours wasted smoking cigerettes.

I am glad I broke the addiction.

Also in retrospect all the lost dollars spent buying substandard weed at over inflated prices.

As to the phlym thing...before I quit I was coughing up darkbrown splotchy phlym with spects of blood. I have C.O.P.D. almost assuredly given my symptoms and the current Wiki entries.

Anyway, it is now clear and I breath much easier and only use an inhaler occassionally.

My last chest xray does not show that I smoked cigs other then the minor scaring. The mj smoke does indeed help clean my lungs by forcing me to cough from deeper in my diaphram. I am a paraplegic now so I have breathing issues anyway.

And my phlym now is clear/bubbley/frothy...healthy looking.

You also have to realize that medical science has determined that everything, including Yummybud threads, is a carcinogen. The burnt stuff on the bottom of your meat when you BBQ, is a carcinogen. They determined years ago that certain artificial sweeteners were carcinogens. Only problem was, you had to drink 1780 cans of diet pop a day to get cancer. Your bladder would blow up long before you got cancer.
Oh the classic "Everything else kills me so who cares!"

Yeah, screw it, I won't worry about cancer. I'll bathe in motor oil and brush my teeth with antifreeze! Yeehaw! ;)
