Well, the Congo's are dried and in the jar:joint: Overall the congo's ended producing some nice herb, with a very nice sativa buzz. The phenotype with darker hairs ended up being a more racy head high, while the lighter one ended up producing a nice euphoric head high, that came on easily and has no ceiling.:joint: The buzz for each seems to last around a couple hours, with no come down, which is nice for those like me that smoke all day.

For anyone looking to grow these indoors, I would definitely recommend using intense lighting, along with heavy lst or scrog work. I would also make sure you have all your environmental conditions in check, including electrical components, since all it took for these to herm on me was a couple days on a faulty light timer during bloom. With proper conditions, I am confident you could easily produce some heavy yields of great day time sativa smoke:joint:

Take care all, and thanks dubi for making these genetics available.

^^Even the pasty faced, newb, indoor closet hacks can get good results with congo, 250W hps and a 6.5l pot of soil, with enough sugar too feed an army of bio-organisms...i think that the gene for tight flowers is locked in there, the male selection was bang on, i think it would be easy to inbreed this line and make a stable indoor sativa that is potent and yeilds well...for £35 for ten, i think it is a great buy, get two packs and grow congo for ever more...

Great thread, two beautiful girls, looks like you managed to finish them nicely despite the hermi issue. At least your bad luck adds to the knowledge on this pretty rare strain.
Congratulations Seismic, enjoy your herbs :joint:

THE PABLOS

....the hard bumpy road....

....the hard bumpy road....

..........July was not good to me and my Congo seedlings....think I started with seven...but...I put them out...in their cups...in my veggie garden and foolishly forgot about them.....burned them up.

Long story made short....able to revive two...fate would have it....one male and one female. Both were extremely beat up and somewhat stunted...but I stayed with them. I incrossed them....fer sure they are survivors....at least I should have that trait fixed...lol...

This is "Co'lean" at 66daze flower....one branch pollinated....flushing away to finish....think somewhere around 75 I'll pluck her up. I had a little difficulty tryin' to get a read on her finish time....but I'm comfortable with my feed time line....she is getting flushed well.

What does she smell like pablos?
.....Very sweet smellin'....mushy fruit smells...no distinct fruit...but fruit all the same...like it.

This girl stretched very little....even her clones are slow...stout growers...not much on vigor but clones easy enough. I will look fer more vigor in the f2s but I like her short stature. Yield looks light....but this was an undialed, partially seeded, beat up from-seed-plant that was put into flower on the short side. She is goin' in as a multi-top this next round....but will be dusted again with outcross pollen.

Quick size up......this plant had the crap kicked out of her....she is a tough cookie.....should be noted that she did not fight back with intersex traits...more or less took her beatin' with a smile imo....truely stress tested...I'm goin' to work with her fer a while and see what else she can bring to the table. I'll harvest cure and return with a smoke opinion. Looks tastey enough to me.

Thanx Ace fer offering genetics like this....look forward to growing some more of yer variety.

Looks awesome T.Pablos, its interesting you have a fruity one...i have noticed that the majority of the nepal x congo have a fruity smell, like juicy fruit chewing gum, kinda tangy, maybe it was one of the congo males?...:chin:

THE PABLOS

...thanx fer the look gentlemen....

On the aroma: Smells...I find...can be so subjective...this is one I have trouble nailin' down....I try to close my eyes and be objective when I go about decipherin' aroma....some I just can't nail down....and this is one of those....

Smells not realized...let's start there....no pine,no coffee,no skunk,no feline,no menthol,.......to me she is lumped in with sweet smells....maybe...yup...like chewin' gum....fruity may be inaccurate...tough fer me to tell....good smells that I haven't had in my bunker before...so unique to me.

I'm very interested in African genetics fer my own projects....and plan to recombo Co'lean with dust from Casey Jones X C99BX on her next round. I mash up plants that look like they may blend....I had no preconceived notion of this recombo but feel that this will be an interestin' path....or step I should say....as I plan to blend select plants from that cross with selections from CJ x Highland Mex x BB X CJ x C99BX(my CJ X HMxBB will be gettin' dusted her next round as well).....

My goal is to create unique, well balanced indoor sativa leanin' subjects that I can successfully run in my height restricted bunker....with multiple variety...and in that process...collect the landrace sativa genetics to reinfuse my made hybrids with. Once I've made my selections and brought the hybrided Congo and Highland Mex together I'll figure my next course....but I imagine I'd touch it up with doses of Congof2 and Highlandf2 select pollen. This project is well underway....but light yrs away.

I am...however...satisfied with both Casey Jones and C99BX....their funky,fruity,hashy,tropical....flavs....and sativa dominance...I have no concern they will carry over and give me common ground in which to introduce the Congo and Highland Mex. I don't have my nose in a book(though I do study)but just goin' on observations and instinct selection....I am my own test pilot...so there are no excuses.

Genetically speakin'....I think the Ace seed company is a bank of wealth fer guys like me....and I really appreciate it....I've never grown Africans before and I think they are a mostly an untouched resource fer new genetic recombos. I'm stoked someone is out there doin' the leg work...much respect and good will from me to ya Ace dudes.

I grow the shit out of Deep Congo.

It's Congo crossed with Deep Chunk. Fantastic.

Most of my buddies can't smoke it. I have had more than two people end up getting sick. Fuckin Amateurs.

THE PABLOS

....Hey Bobby...I ordered Deep Congo over the summer but there was a glitch with the Boo....the system crashed...they say they sent them...I say they didn't....so no Deep Congo...still might grab a pac....I've seen and heard good things.

The problem w/ the Deep Congo, is it's old stock and there's been reported poor germ rates. I'd wait til RW releases a newer bx. ;)

I hear ya, Pablos, I'm walking into the african corridor myself.
Hope to be dusting A11 & F13 pollen selectively on my nubian honey's. :D
