Can you reach a Tolerance level on ediblies?

I made a batch of canna butter and the first time I used it on some pancakes I was high all day, but after that I could never get high again on it.....WHY????

My first time having butter it was frozen in a tupperware cup from my provider. The first batch of brownies was great. My second batch nothing. My only guess was that during cooling the better concentrates had floated to the top half of the container which I had used in my first batch. It all looked the same and tasted the same but the first batch was definitely better. Since then I have made my own butter and the results were more than satisfying.

I have constant pains from a lower back injury I suffered years ago. To me the edibles seem to be much more effective in dealing with the problems related to it. As with many medications your body can build up a tolerance over time. However, unlike many medications the reset time with cannabis seems to be short.

Yes, you can have a tolorance to edibles, but probably not after one day. Of course, people are different. I swear by edibles and won't do anything else, but I talk to people who say it does nothing for them.

A tolerance level on edibles is somewhat good - you get more cannabinoids floating around that you more good than that of a smaller previous dose, no matter if you can feel it or not/

edibles make me sleepy. it's a good thing. :dance013:

oh, yea, as far as tolerance to edibles is concerned you can build up a tolerance to just about anything given enough time and exposure.

I use Kif to make Geradeli Brownies all the time, and it seems to keep getting me better better buzzderer, lol.I just hurt my back on the roof, have a bulged L5 and S1 sciatic nerve and chronic radiculopothy on the right side, and the kif brownies not only stil get me high, but it really helps my leg when it goes numb and starts burning. When i smoke i seem to get a tolerence quicker than edibles.Peace and Stay Safe,DancesWithWeed:ying:

There are some people that seem pretty unaffected by edibles, seems that body does not process it. I have never encounter such a person, but I've heard about them and I think it's true. But I agree most people that say it does not work have never tried enough of it.
I have met some people for whom you would need 3/4 times stronger dose compare to another person in the same condition. So some non smoker that would need more than a smoker. Still put 1g of oil in a cookie and there is no way they can handle that.

Talking about high doses, you can always increased the doses with edibles, and whatever is your tolerance you can always get more medicated/high than you need.

I have tried to "overdose" edibles, on purpose and sometimes accidently. It's kinda scary I can tell. But the more you eat the more you get high. 1.5g of oil was my limit in my best condition, and limit is my brain that s get totally out of control rather my body rejecting the substance. You will always reach your limit if you eat more.
It seems for me that maintaining really high tolerance need a constant consuming of large doses, which is impossible to maintain if you have a normal life. BTW If you eat strong edibles smoking will be definetly very manageable. Best way to boost up your tolerance before a cup ;)

Edibles will always show you the real power of cannabis, and make you understand that you gotta always be respectful of it and never underestimate.

I thought I was one of those people....until I used whole milk. That milk for whatever reason is the only time edibles ever worked for me and I have tried everything imaginable from dozens of places...most all seemed to work for everyone else. It was frustrating. Even my own didn't work...until I used milk then BLAMMO!

I will second the recommendation for the milk. Although I have certainly gotten very high with the budder before the milk seems to work very well and its very easy and quick and also seems to hit somewhat quicker then more traditional baked goods.

Have fun and be safe its easy to over do the edibles and thats definatly quite the trip!!

Peace

Been eating edibles(my own) everyday for the last 18 mos....

What was I gonna say?

Oh yeah, just like anything else, you do build tolerance over time...I just adjust my recipe slightly.

18 hours @ 210F in a crock

Crock pots are the way to go, I just set it on low, for 6 hours. Stirring every half an hour or so.
Is 18 hrs better?
My edibles never fail to satisfy.
A lot of folks find them too strong.

Drink a glass of grapefruit juice 30-45 mins before eating the edibles. More active ingredients will get into your bloodstream via the GF juice inhibiting the CYP450 enzyme. DISCLAIMER: If you are on prescriptions or any other pharmaceuticals, DO NOT DO THIS as it can result in an overdose and possibly death.

Edibles have never done much of anything for me. I make a batch of cookies or brownies and everyone else turns to jello (especially my dog), but they do nothing for me. Do you have to stop smoking for awhile to feel the effects or something?

Possible death? Sounds interesting. I will give it a shot.

CYPs are the major enzymes involved in drug metabolism, accounting for about 75% of the total metabolism.[1] Most drugs undergo deactivation by CYPs, either directly or by facilitated excretion from the body. Also, many substances are bioactivated by CYPs to form their active compounds.

Naturally occurring compounds may also induce or inhibit CYP activity. For example, bioactive compounds found in grapefruit juice and some other fruit juices, including bergamottin, dihydroxybergamottin, and paradicin-A, have been found to inhibit CYP3A4-mediated metabolism of certain medications, leading to increased bioavailability and, thus, the strong possibility of overdosing.[15] Because of this risk, avoiding grapefruit juice and fresh grapefruits entirely while on drugs is usually advised.[16]
