Well fuck....it seems I have been bitten once again by chlorine, or PH, not sure. Lately I have been having germination problems. Whatever it was killed ALL the seeds stone dead in short order, germinated or not, except for ONE seedling which germinated and survived. I figure the odds of me somehow ending up with a kick ass BD pheno at this stage out of this single plant are pretty remote, but maybe I'll at least get something worth crossing with other plants. Fuck, I wish I could just get a damn legit clone of this plant.

So I ended up getting two plants out of twenty. Pretty sure chlorine got the rest. Damn it. The two plants look pretty similar, but one has a pretty good sized hollow stem, with very little pith.

So.....what did I get? I guess it seems Blueberry-ish, based on a few pics I've seen, but I've never grown that strain before.

From what I read on Blue Dream, it has a very sativa-like structure and leaves. If that's the case I can't really see these two plants as being an S1 of that.

Whatever it is....seems promising!

That sucks about them not germinating, I'd say it was more the seed than anything you did.

Thanks for the benefit of the doubt everyone. It wasn't bunk seed--they all sprouted when soaked in water, but I saw the roots on some turn brown and start to look burnt, and the transfer to soil killed them dead. And it was right about the time they had just torn up the street working on the water main, so I think they were flushing it out with chlorine, and my dumb ass didn't check of course.

I don't sprout seeds too often, so....wasn't thinking. The plant pictured above sprouted normally, and a few days later its sister surprised me by popping up too. Maybe these are the strong ones of the group!

I'll keep the thread updated from time to time as these ladies progress.

Blue Dream is too me is a 6.5 out of 10 strain. Not anything to get too excited about but quality smoke and it makes a great commercial strain. It is clone only. The taste is excellent, the nugs are frosty and chunky. The high... kinda an up social sativa. It's good at parties but not the best solo smoke. I've also had smokes that are much more powerful and have a more desirable and pleasant high. It's a good starter strain but if you buy any good seeds it won't be head stash for long.

Blue Dream has fantastic bag appeal. Chunky, bright orange hairs, glowing in crystal, floral smelling....The high isn't too powerful, more of a mellow daytime sativa feel.

Just so everyone knows, the clone of Blue Dream has spread out of Santa Cruz and made its way to many of the medical establishments in CA. My homie in San Diego got a BD clone and I can guarantee it was the real deal.

Sorry to hear you paid 220 for 10 seeds man. There is a lot higher quality of seedstock available for a fraction of the cost.

20 seeds...femmed...and the quality has yet to be determined. If nothing else, I probably got a pretty decent representation of Blueberry, even just out of these two plants...and that's good enough. I've seen what junk genetics looks like and this is definitely good seed stock. When this flowers out I'll cross it with other good phenos from different strains, and then have unlimited number of interesting hybrids to work with.

I'm running BD right now. Inherited at one of my new places, I decided to run it again because it was on hand. It is a good strain, decent yield, frosty, decently potent.
I use headz/rez recipe with my own adjustments, but no nitrogen after week 5 or 6, the nugs come out super light green, and often with good color like in the previous pics. Pink, blue, purple.

It is a true sative (to me) it keeps stretching throughout flower, and needs to be netted or staked heavily as it always falls over, thin stalks and branches. I top once or twice at least in veg to force branching as it grows UP, not out.

Can someone tells me what the real BD smells like? Got one pheno a few weeks into flower and it's already the strongest smelling plant in the garden. Has a rude, pungent, sour citrus smell, with a hint of skunk. I did some googling and found several posts elsewhere where people described basically the same smell, so that kinda gets my hopes up that this might be the real thing. So far I'm pretty impressed. It's still early yet, but both phenos are showing signs of being damn good plants, possibly two of the best phenos in the garden.

I have a blue dream cut. It doesn't look like any of the others posted here. It's a great smoke, fruity smell, big, super hard nugs, tons of trichomes. It finishes in 10 weeks and is a great high. One of the best daytime smokes I've ever encountered.
