Starting downstairs build and at a dilemma point.
My flip flop rooms share one wall and each room will be set up with 4 sites and a side bucket with a pump for each site.
Should I connect the rooms 4 bucket sites to make a 8 site system with one control bucket or have two separate control buckets?

The wall will still be there dividing the flip flop rooms.
Would I get a more stable solution running one control bucket?

The only downfall I can think of, is that after harvesting one room it might sit vacant for a day or so before I flip the room.

any ideas???

I vote 1 control bucket, my understanding is that 1 massive solution is better than multiples.

it's the gin! the biggest argument against running and recirculating each sites solution individually is that the concentration and ph will be different in every one of them.

just monitoring them could be very time consuming.

also, the larger the overall body of solution the slower chemical changes occur and the more time you have to observe and correct.

Ok, a little slow going with life's changes. Moving on to the layout of the new two rooms flip flopping.
As seen in the diagram there are two rooms and one control bucket. I need to verify with other PPKers if this set up will work correctly. Use the key and ask questions if you have any.

Trying attachments from a different source..and I am liking the way the photos come out. Better than my camera.
Anyway building the downstairs rooms after clearing all the under current stuff out. The whole system took about 2 hrs to put together copying D9. 😋
Leveling each site on uneven floors is a little tricky. Waiting for water to level out.

Thanks Snook and Mckush. :tiphat:
finally leveled out a an hr later. Had to put 4 bucket covers under a couple of sites due to the floor so off. The floor drain is about 5' away from one of those sites that's why it is so off as we go down hill.
Diy drip rings are done and my relay switch came in so I am building a 20amp relay box for all the timers to be controlled from my one DTR-1. Downstairs plants are ready to be thrown into flower. 9 weeks of veg is long enough.
Next post will have pictures.

Who can tell what is sticking to my large stainless steel wisk? It looks like a metallic paist.

What do you 'wisk' with it?
Sorry snook I left out that critical part.

I use the 18" wisk to stir/dissolve the jacks and calcium nitrate (separate) with the RO water in a 5 gal bucket. Before I add it to the rest of the water in the 44gal brute.

Should I have separate buckets for this task?

Just wanted to show some pictures of the wall known as command center. On the left top is the relay controlled by the DRT-1 bottom left.

Just loaded up the first downstairs room and I am about a week late. So these 4 had 7 weeks vegging.
NYPD, Amhurst sour diesel, G-13 and blueberry headband.

Just letting people know that after 3 weeks of veg the plants are tripling in size.
I have a 12 plant vegging site seen in the photo above #373. Set of 4 plants under 24/7 T-5 for three weeks than move (4) over set up in the same room just over a bit down the line for 3 weeks of 600hps/18hrs for three more weeks. Than over to the other side of the same room under 600hps/18hrs but spaced out bigger to allow growth for three weeks.....for a total of 9 weeks in veg before taking out of this system and into the flower room...4 at a time, seen in photo on #375.
All the while replacing each veg stage with new little ones.

Hopefully I didn't loose anyone on my description.

This set up works for me due to space issues but would like to have more space for vegging.

Another note I have to make is that when I plant the seedlings into the first stage I lightly packed the medium around the plant to see if that played a part into roots growing into the tail piece...I found that it is best to firmly pack in the new seedlings. Which helps in holding the seedling in place while growing and needs less support as it grows in vegging stages.

Questions/advice?

This is 2.5 weeks into flower....I can not get over how much bigger they are growing in this system than the under current I had prior.
Other pictures are of the veg room. New seedlings up to the 7 week vegging.

First two pictures are of 4 plants in a room.

I powered up the flip room connected to the other 4 sites sharing the control bucket. They grew a little more than I wanted in veg. But should see a good return.

I built my screen frames and bottom light socket holders. The reason I went with a holder is because I need to move it out of the way when I get in the middle to train to the screens.

For the light socket holder, did you have to mess with the wiring at all?

When the outdoor temps cool down in the fall, I might go with 2 stacked bulbs in my tent.

Yes, I had to take it apart and thread threw the PVC than put it back together. Very easy. I'll walk you through it.

I got the same size tent as you do.
I love it...wish I did it a long time ago. I am getting 4lbs consistently out of those tents 2k stacked. I think with some strains I could pull 5-6 but my pt's like a variety.

I had a room downstairs with 2k but side buy side vertical and could barely get 3 lbs with 6 plants....bad set up and my first room.

You learn a lot from one grow to the other..
