Lets see, its only been a week but here's a comparison. The pic on the left doesn't show depth very well but it's about the best 7 wk pic I have.


Unless you have an extreme stretcher, hps ought to veg a scrog just fine. It'll grow faster than low power veg lights and the color increases stretch a little.

The middle is tough to train because shoots are small and right against the screen. If I'm not careful they're easy to break off the main stem. Letting them grow longer means bending tougher, more brittle stems. That said I may have an uneven canopy. Maybe I can supercrop to get some of the last bends I need.

Overall, it's been a real learning experience.

Hey DiscoBiscuit, I just cruised through your thread and I gotta say I am kinda sorry I didn't do it sooner. You have some major fabrication skills, your carbon filter is the best I've seen for dyi. I'm lovin the genetics too. Early on i was hoping you would throw up a show of that sd,ogkaxdc cross and you picked it for the scrog I was pumped! And I found this right before flower, man I'm going to have to buy a lottery ticket I feel so lucky. And tangerine haziness come on. . . All I can say is that I am a fan

It's been a long wait but we're almost to the point of interest. Thanks everybody for sticking around.

I'm using Floranova and 4 supplements at full strength. So far, no signs of nute burn. Will see if that holds true when I add Kool Bloom liquid and powder to the mix.

I'm not real familiar with CalMag+. I've read it's not necessary to use it throughout flower. Anybody know when's a good time to stop?

Can't really help you with the Cal/Mag stuff, only that I would be using it if the plant was showing deficiency of that kind, I use either epsom salts or mainly blackstrap molasses with my flowering nute regime, but I'm sure you will be all over it anyways bro. Bring on the bud porn.

Teresa, thanks so much. Just what I needed to know.

b00m, thanks man. I owe one to Teresa too, lol. One of the reasons I'm using the CalMag is for the Ca. My water's around 15ppm and ~6.5 to 7.0pH. Without the Ca, ferts cause the pH to dive farther, making more pH up necessary. At least that's the way it was in the past.

I'm glad I tried the organic supp w/humic or fulvic acid, whatever. I've recommended ~6.5 runoff to other soil growers in the past but I'm getting runoff as low as 6.0 (drops) with no visible signs of deficiency. This stuff makes it easy to grow but I'll have to get better cutting off at the right time or my plants will be too green at harvest. I've got some epsom salts around here somewhere and might even pick up some molasses. Thanks again.

Here's a Jiffy mini clone dome I pick ed up at Lowes. ~$5. I bought it because it fits in the pc case. It's comes with pucks and would make a great mailer if you want to send cuts to your favorite grow buddy. Poke holes for air, run a few splints through the plastic dome to keep the cuts upright and the pucks in their trough. I bet they'd last a week easy, maybe a little more. Loosely crushed newspaper would work for packing. Priority mail is cheap and usually 2 to 3 days in the lower 48. Probably would mail for $5 or less.

Ain't it cute in it's pc case? It might be little but it holds 12 small cuts. You could probably do the same thing with a aluminum pan w/ plastic leftover lid from the grocer.
