How did you get that bulb to mount on that fan? I have a fan just like that, and if the need arises i'm gonna do the same thing.(I have a little lasko like that, but just in case it shits the bed).I usually always use a kind of ppk set-up, unless i'm running a hydro table.I used to always bottom feed my plants. They would be in black trays and i watered the plants by pouring water in the tray verses on the plants themselves. The setup in the pic is like what i did but on a bigger scale. I used four .75 gallon dishes per black tray, sea of green style, and averaged 10 grams per plant, with no veg time, and it was simple, when the trays dried up, i would wait another day for the soil to dry then, fill the tray's. Sorry for the rant, just woke up, bowl hits and coffee, happens every time.

I do have a thread, not only for my ppks, but for all my projects. I just started it a couple Weeks ago. I wk be harvesting my first ppk circle this weekend. It's in the vert section
D9 thanks for posting Ur builds and ideas they make me swim in my thoughts for hours thanks...
IME if roots hit a deep well reservoir in a bottom container without high flow and constant oxygenation to the rootzones submerged in solution , imminent crop death ensues from pythium/root rot SRGB.....and why ?.....Hi, delta9nxs.
Nice work.
If you are interested in further experiments with your devices, we would be happy to send you an SRBGB to substitute for the entire top bucket portion of your application.
It might be possible to place a grating over the bottom bucket, tote or container, and simply place an SRBGB on top of that grating; with everthing else remaining the same.
This experimental modification would eliminate a top bucket altogether (drilling holes, tail piece, etc.).
SRBGB achieve nearly full drainage, so roots would simply continue to grow into the bottom bucket - especially with your modified pulsing, semi-continuous delivery system.
In any event, we are only extending an offer of an SRBGB to continue experimentation in a collaborative effort within the general parameters of the PPK. Just reducing the need for a top bucket or container (with the plumbing, tailpiece parts and bucket itself). Roots should just continue to grow into whatever is used for a bottom bucket.
We will extend this offer as two (2) 3, 5, or 10 gallon SRBGB`s. One (1) to each of two gardeners; or your selection, or that selects themselves for such an experiment within your purview as the primary innovator of your device. Two separate gardeners for dual observation and concurrent repeatability of the experiment.
This is just an offer, based on what we consider to be a potentially rewarding experiment. There might be opportunities for only advantages with such continued experiments.
If you would like for us to remove this post, please let us know. Please PM us if you are interested.
Kind regards,
/SRGB/
IME if roots hit a deep well reservoir in a bottom container without high flow and constant oxygenation to the rootzones submerged in solution , imminent crop death ensues from pythium/root rot SRGB.....and why ?.....
Cuz what you propose is simply a different form of DWC without the recirculating and no air supply to roots....or am I missin something ?......
D9`s setup keeps the rootmass/rootzone above the solution in the upper container without ever allowing roots to hit water in the bottom container except for the tailpieces filled with medium to wick juice back up to said rootmass for a constant "moistness" to the upper rootzone .....
At least that`s my understanding of it....Maybe I`m missin something cuz I remember HK45 drillin extra holes in the bottoms of his upper containers for better solution exchange , but still wondering if that`s a good thingie.......anyways.....
What`re your thoughts D9........
Peace....DHF..........
we have a new record plant in this device! i got a pm from a longtime user of the ppk who just got 1007 gr of dry bud from one plant. that's 2.22 lbs! or a KILOGRAM! one plant!
