If it's a 'hoarded' strain or cut, how can it be compared to others? Here in SoCal, we've been having a sort of 'clone wars' going on these last 15 years or so, crappy cuts get discarded and elite ones rise to the top. During that time, many less experienced growers tried to 'hoard' various things they thought were real special, with the predicted results; All were lost. Any grower with more than ten years or so experience should know that if any strain or cut is really worth it, it needs to go out in the world and compete with the other elites. If it hasn't been to the 'clone wars' it's probably not really that good. So, in my opinion, 'hoarded' = below standard (at least here in SoCal).
