The race is on, this plant was over 5' high yesterday, but I found a little bit of botrytis near the top so I cut most of it down. The bud with the blue marker on it was pollinated around Sept 25 and almost certainly isn't ready yet. Will it produce viable seed before the flower falls to botrytis?

This stem rot near the base of the plant appeared about half a week ago.

everybody busy trimming......??

Busy???? I'm freakin' overwhelmed!

my stepdaughter was supposed to come from the next state over to help me with the entire harvest, hang, dry and trim, but she flaked out on me...

I had a great season this year....

I put in a little time today, lost a week to other obligations, which sucks, but I should hopefully get some serious time in tomorrow. I'm falling way behind.

No guarantees but you've got a good shot at it. I've pulled lots of viable seed out of balls of grey sludge. Today's the day I'm hacking a lot of my seed limbs, hopefully I'll find at least a few dozen in the branches that made it this far. The main end tips tend to rot completely while the smaller buds are the ones with the mature seeds. Over the last month I've hacked the ends off quite a few of my seed limbs because they were so rotten I didn't recognize them as seed limbs. Of course the seeds from the few unrotted limbs are the ones I want for boytritis resistance.

1 more plant and then I can forget about grow-rips for 2020.

i got just 1 left to go too....

a pure red leb, not going to get alot from it,
she will stay out until after frost,
like tyco says about wedding cake and popcorn buds
the red leb is much the same, she blossomed
very late in the season, and has a very low yield
(there will be enough there to gain insight into the plants properties, which will suffice for this season)

at this point i dont really care, i know what i will
try next season with it, and have clones already underway
-indoor opns

next season i will go with several red leb(s)
and i will have them up 3' in height before transplant
and i will proof them into flower mode before going outside
such that the plants have the entire summer to bloom
and see how that works......
never be discouraged just try something different

i took off all my outdoor plants except for the leb.
not big huge yields, but i did ok with it....about 10 oz(s)
of which 2 oz(s) pure bud have been made into resin
so im left with 1/2 lb curing in glass jars
which is great, no complaints

my indoor opns will see another harvest around new years
flower mode started Oct 1, will run full term of 3 months flowering
7 plants, (-1 sunset shurbert -1 red leb -1 PCK
-1 hybrid and 3 red manderine)

when they come off, i will have another 4 sunset shurbert
ready to go into my cabinet from tent (clones in tent).

January i will start seedlings for outdoor, along with red leb clones
seedlings will be red hot cookies, red poison auto, purpidol (17%CBD),
and recently acquired panama red, fruity pebbles, and pineapple express

cheers mate

I wonder if cutting off the branch above the rot and putting the stem in water and sitting it next to the window for a couple weeks to grow out some more might be a better approach in my case. Its not even all that big of a deal, I doubt I'll want to grow out the seeds in there anyway, I'm just kinda amused at the fight for survival between the mother and the fungus. You sound like you made some pretty nice sized batches seeds since a little bit of rot doesn't bother you. Seems like you're right about the fatter seeded buds being a little bit more rot prone near the top than the unseeded ones, or maybe just a little more vulnerable to botrytis in general since the unseeded flowers seem like they also tend to rot top down often.

I have always wondered if Red Leb is used to produce that wonderful Red Leb Hash. I saw a big ass block of it this summer. Made my mouth water.
