anyone topdress organic dry nutes indoors and nothing else?

Tempted to dry just top dressing organic powdered ferts, like happy frog tomato food for veg and bulb and flower for flower.

Using ocean forest soil.

Has any one done this with the same or similar ingredients?

?... also how does the stack up against bottled nutes.?

I really wanna see some pics of some dank nugs done like this....come on inspire me, or not.

I saw some tomatoes done like this and they were crazy.

I figure the dry fertz will kick in by the time the ffof starts to run low?

Never bought a bottled fert! That said, fish hydrolysate is some good stuff.

I say top dress with the dry stuff and throw a thick layer of mulch over it.

Dry fert top dressings kick in within a few days. One run I got way behind on my nutes fast and finished things off only through top dressings and no bottle feedings.

A soil's most active area microbially is nearer the surface and the plant relies a lot on more surface level feeder roots. Top dressings rock.

Also advisable to build a strong nute layer at the bottom of the pot when you build it.

I do it outside but not in pots. I do it outside for ease with many plants; not all mj.

I ran the g.o line in coco great quality just not to dense.

My experience is bottle fed plants are inferior. If you build your soil properly, which can include top dressings, basically just add water.

As for yield that's a bit tougher and takes some dialing in. IME the less stuff you 'dump' on the soil the better except for stuff like teas. Nutes don't fall from the sky.

Don't know what you're saying Cascade, but where i'm at it rains nutes all the time.


I've done the last several runs with minimal top dressings and light FPE's with excellent results. The soil hasn't been recycled yet, but my base mix along with a few odds and ends is given me very tasty results.

I already yield less than what most people claim on the net, it would be hard to take a hit in the yield dept.

I have fed w/ just top dressings of bone meal and bat guano (aside from good soil to begin w/) and it was pretty legit! Not the yield that I get w/ awesome liquid nutes but taste was good! only thing is you gotta make sure you stop feeding awhile before you would stop w/ using liquid nutes, b/c it takes longer to rinse/flush out

like I said unless someone convinces me otherwise, I'll pass on this technique, quality has been fairly good for me yield has never been near the 1gram a watt ( and more)people claim to get easily, but I'm still trying

it is true but not sure how it works, more with certain plants, not really the water, but Im not sure, maybe some one knows about it?
