Ha! Living the life like the heroic adventure it should be :)
That hail looks fuckin serious. The weather gods and their fury... I'm glad I don't get pounded with that kind of bricks.

I shall take some more pix as the garden makes progress.

For a little color a picture from the forest we went to to harvest Boletus edulis. It was a lovely day and we had two baskets full.

Cool cool cool....forest looks mellow. I'm still in the shit. The weather...even now...is on top of me. I'm having a great time...little tired....but got my "runt" harvest hanging

Heh, Bonnie and Clyde. They have the "Bonnie and Clyde Death Car" on display at Terrible's Gold Run in Verdi NV - a '34 Ford DeLuxe completely perforated with bullet holes, just sitting right in the middle of the casino. Such a strange thing to see while stopping for gas and a piss on your way home from Reno.

I've stopped in there more than once. They fucked those people up big time....were not wanting them to survive the ambush. Ruined the car as well.....it would make a cool ass hot rod though. That would be a sick ride. Gotta love the history.

I spent a few hrs working today....mostly looking at possible jobs....now I've got some time to process yesterday's "runt" harvest. Easy one to trim....thank god.

All plants have been moved back into place....the pit was bailed out...found chunks of buds down there....assorted other debris....but it's functioning again. Busted my ass getting shit cleaned up...lot of raking etc....

I lost an entire melon patch....blown apart...everything took a beating....trees lost a great deal of leaves...apples got bruised up...holes punctured in many of them....salvaging what I can. Good thing I moved the canna plants...that would have been devastating if I had not.

I'll throw up some bud shots....later on....fatties

SFV x Ghost X Ghost "runt" manicured flowers

SFV x Ghost X Ghost "runt" manicured flowers

I'm glad that I did a solid prep job....the day before the hail incident...as it made trimming much much quicker. Nothing complicated about manicuring the flowers....put on some music....rotated 3 sets of scissors kept in a cup of rubbing alcohol....had a will to see production for production's sake.

The flowers are dense/heavy (he's not heavy...he's my brother)....to me....they smell of pungently-overly-sweet-funk-bubble gum. Quality of the bud is excellent...no signs of damage or flaws....except that they are more leafy...seem like indoor grown flowers. Basically bigger versions of all the Kush plants I've harvested over summer.

Overall summary of the "runt" grow:

1. the plant vegged/flowered well in the outdoor pit...the 3 gallon square of coco I grew her in....was ample for her roots. Under everyday supervision she never dried out or seemed cramped.

2. handled the summer heat well. She was exposed to direct sun light most the day. Around noon-1 o'clock she had some shade...but other than that break....full sun. There were periods in August where she was in 100 degree temps.

3. Odor wise....she never wafted so bad as to concern me. Kept a low profile. Within 10 ft of her....yeah....she stunk...but....my perimeter surrounding her was much more than 10 ft.

4. Bugs were around....but....did no damage. Not a concern.

5. No signs of any mold. I get PM on squash/melons....normally though....RH is on the low side, and mold is not much of an issue. There is almost always a dry wind as well.

6. She was not exposed to many low temp nights. She did see a couple sub 40 degree nights....and some light frost near the end.

7. with the exception of the hail storm on her last night....it was a fairly routine grow.

It's over.....I'm already on to the next episode

Thanx unc....yup....like clubs.

Did y'all read that thread over in the Greenhouse forum?....Gezus fuckin' christ.....why I would never be involved in the commercial bean biz....peeps are fucking nuts. I would not want to have to deal with all the idiots involved out there.

I don't know nor really care about all the history of shit...unless...it involves a good story. I'm all about the entertainment. Plant genetics I figure out for myself...no one else....can tell me about my own observations....the rest of this shit....all the "Pot Stars" and whatnot is strictly a fallacy to me.

Fucking plant some beans....grow some plants....breed your plants....reload.....do it all again...until...you find Grace. Simple

*People really take themselves too serious. I'm a grown man....blows me away how other grown people present themselves as children....man... I have no faith in the human condition. It is a culture of make believe on all levels....rise above...I fear that only as individuals can we rise above. The masses are happy in their slop...not even worth saving

Yeah...excuse my little rant earlier. I simply don't care for what motivates much of the civilized world. I shouldn't be judging anything though...people should live their lives as they see fit. I've come to the conclusion: not everyone is me.

I smoked a sampler of the BBS leaning Cleveland Sage. Flowers have only been in their cure jar a couple days...so you know...it's still very very fresh.

The high is calming....no rush...no drop in sugar...no paranoid feeling...creeper high. I smoked 3/4 of a joint as my morning wake and bake....usually the 1st smoke of the day has me reeling for 15 minutes or so....but this stuff didn't do that to me. Creeped up nice, and steady like....kind of washed over me....gentle. Warm/fuzzy high....didn't think it speedy...kind of narcotic.

Taste like chocolate. I'm hoping the cure magnifies the chocolate...it's mild now...but it is like an unsweetened chocolate. Hangs in the back of your throat. I don't recall ever having such a chocolate flavored expression.

Hang in there man. I'm under semi cloudy mild skies....nights are cold....season is changing. I'd like another month in the pit...just to finish what I have in there. The pit was probably more productive this year then last year. I'm spoiled by rotating the plants out there...it's a sweet little trick of the tail.

I'm off to garden....transplanting sprouts into their own cups...smoking a doob....more of that BBS

Can you hear the sound...

Can you hear the sound...

...of a sprouts tap root breaking?....or is it.....just the feel of it breaking that makes a sound in your head?

My answer: I can hear it. Just like...on occasion I can see at "plant speed"....I can similarly hear within "plant sound". I sometimes hear the sound even if I'm not paying attention (lol...or particularly when I'm not paying attention)....I'd not even know I broke the root if not for the sound involving those incidences. I can hear the sound over outside interferences (music, fans...etc)....

I only broke one last night...out of how many?.....20 or so? I'm quick in scooping out wee little sprouts....mostly a case of letting the coco dry....makes it easier to collect them....then too...they go into their beer cups most thirsty.
/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

I'm working with some of Retardo Motabon's genetics....crosses....what have you. Some of you are probably already aware of this....but I'm making it more public at this time...as you know....I find it proper to give props where props are due. I will be doing a straight forward assessment...and of course...document what I find. I have much respect for RM...respect his concepts...appreciative to have the opportunity to grow his work.

Mantanuska Thunderfuck X Grape Krush

Tweedy IX1= Mango Haze X F13

Here's a group shot of the 3 Thunders....and 2 F13 leaning Tweedys

pix of the Tweedys....little over fed imo....but you can see why I view them as F13 leaners.

They are different....one is very Flo to me....not aggressive...laid back...won't yield for shit (my prediction) but will be awesome pot. The other...is different...still a Flo, but infused with a vigor of aggression. I'm unsure of her...maybe the B130 is working in....she doesn't feel Hazy. Different. Digging on her the most out of 4 total Tweedy females.

Look at a typical top cluster of Thunderfuck. Interesting cross imo...I don't think RM was expecting much when he made it. I was attracted to the beans because I have never worked with Matanuska Thunderfuck, and I know what Grape Krush males can do to a cross. When I saw that RM was working with Thunderfuck combined to GK...my weed senses went: ding ding ding....I can dig me out some indie expression? Don't really know what I'll dig out, but that's how I'm feeling.

They are broad/thick/lush plant expressions. I want Thunderfuck leaners seasoned with a bit of Blues. Happily.....I believe I'm going to see exactly that....and as I stated previously in another post...I'm seeking F13 leaning Tweedy.

Well then...all systems are a-go...pablo picasso was never called an asshole....."I wanted a mission, and for my sins....I was given one."

IC is so incestuous. Seems like we're always rolling one another's gear. Those sound like some fine Retardo crosses there.

I'm currently 4 days into 12/12 on an assortment of gear from Steele Savage of Grindhouse. He's a standup dude, and was good enough to hook me up with fresh healthy cuts after the Big Cull.

ChemD x Ancient Afghani (2 phenos)
Prophet - pre-'98 Bubba x Tang Tang
Mob Boss - ChemD x Tang Tang
Ultra Sonja - UK Cheese x Tang Tang
(Tang Tang = "Blue Sonja" Blockhead Bx)

They're all looking beautiful and lush and stink to high heaven. So even with the disaster, I'm good for now. Getting ready to re-purpose my 5x5 tent as a veg chamber in another room so I can go perpetual from seed again.

BTW, the Porpoisehead got damaged and ended up getting culled from the outdoor space. But my Odessa-B (Ol' Dirty) is doing great in my garden and also in a friend's plot up the hill. Dude - the aromas coming off of these Odessa resins are other-worldly. Like strong, concentrated, very sour red berries (raspberry, blackberry, currant) with a miles-deep, spreading kush-funk base. Nothing subtle about it - in your face, right up front, grabbing you and shaking and shouting FUCKING BERRIES!! and FUCKING HASH, MAN!! Very, very branchy plant, lots of small budsites, very Trainwreck-looking. Got a late start, but she filled in nicely. The whiteflies love her too, though. My Skunk #1 smells like a pack of Fruit Stripe gum that's been held overnight in a girl's armpit - much better than it might sound. I do like me some girl sweat.

Good to see challenges are being met and overcome all around. Onward...

Wow....nice stuff dude (O...I like the Chem D X Ancient Afghani). Looks like a heavy hitting line up...rock those plants. Happy to hear you have an Odessa outdoors...there is some good expression in those....I find the cross to be a variety package. I have a few of the IX1's in veg now...setting up for Tweedy and DTC99 outcrosses. Shame about the Porpoise....but...that's growing...shit happens all the time lol...all the time

On that note....I'll post up my Prudence Highland once again. She is now over 70....stays outdoors around the clock (so she is getting the cold night temps)....is plump, beautiful, smelly smelly, fading/coloring up.....and is about done. I could take her at any moment....doing the ol' song 'n dance with her....taking our time....slow death....flushing life away

Prudence Highland= Querkle X TFlux Highland

TFlux Highland= Flo x Chem DD X Highland Mex x Blueberry

Conglomerate aka Conglom......35ish days in now

Conglomerate aka Conglom......35ish days in now

I'll show you a couple Congloms today....showed one of these before...but...I have a total of 4 females in flower...days in range from 30-35....so...mostly in same stages in their flower cycle.

Kind of a random grab....grabbed the 2 that were closest...but...they pretty much represent what all 4 look like. They differ very little thus far along...they differ very little from the Congo mom I used to make the cross. I'm seeing little of the Grape Krush dads.

Previously in life...I've run a cross I called Elephant Head (documented in....Tripping in the Congo over on the Ace forum)...which was the exact same Congo mom crossed to my stud Cindy Jones male. The Congo dominated that cross as well. I ran into a bushel of inter sex traits from 50 days on. I had some accidental pollinations....ended up trashing a lot of "unknown" seed....very sketchy section.

Elephant Head did provide lots of good flowers to sample...I had thought I wanted to cross into Porpoise Head (Mean Mex Bitch X Cindy Jones)....because they were sativa dominant genetics...and...shared the same Cindy Jones dad. Anyway....I didn't make it happen....because of the problems I had with the Elephants.

I love Congo though....I believe in Congo....it is something I want in my garden. It is a mean cross....likes to dominate....even...my most prolific males. Congo will be an on/off theme in my work....has its own section. I want African influenced hybrids....made to tailor for yours truly.

Love the Congo structure....love the aroma...love the greasy flowers....love the breeding that Ace put into it. I would love to come to terms with Congo outcrosses. Rolling the dice here again.....is that Congo bitch really going to dominate my stallion Grape Krush males?

I'm starting to concentrate....now.... on these. My flower studio is a fucking cluster fuck from fucking hell :)

culling culling culling culling culling....

culling culling culling culling culling....

I rampaged in the veg room yesterday.....I killed some DTC99 and a Tweedy IX1. This next section could bury me in too much stretch...and I still have a long ways to veg....so...I'm watching structures to tip me off.

....I'll cull at just about any stage. These plants (note I'm showing that I killed 2 of 7...in reality 3 of 9...actually even more than that) have been vegging for a while in 1.7 gal containers....their final pots...clean the roots out and reuse the coco. Cost me time and space...but...everything has its price.

I get a batch together...all the same line....I spend time going over them....then kill which ever ones are bothering me. I've been known to wipe out entire populations. Depends on the situation....

dtc99 does well topped....it does like to zoom out of control if you let it,but a good topping or two and a solid pruning before flowering to get rid of suckers will go a long way to keeping them in control...
