I swear you never listen to me... Lol a 4x3x6 space is too small for a 600w lamp.

Not to start any arguments here
but I got into vert about 5 years ago because of a fella named prawn at the now defunct PG site

He was rockin 1200watts in a 4x4x8 space
I mean rockin like set the standard for short veg/small space/min plants production
using only exhaust and a upward facing floor fan

Ive been in 4x4 areas w a 600 w/o burn issues or heat issues
actually, rarely had heat issues w vert

and the new jedi master of vert Heath
rocks 600 in a 36" interrnal ring hydro with unheard of results

its obviously debatable

ooo i saw a promo shot on an LED retailer's site the other day that showed vert-mounted LED growing a vertical algae farm. pretty cool!

if only i could afford the sky-high price tags.

Can't wait to see the OD - how's it gonna compare to 2010? You've set the bar quite high mon frere.

The fork works quite well for keeping the dripper end outta the muck. Props go to FlowerFarmer, from whom I boosted the idea. :artist:

Veg time - forget in terms of days, but everyone was ~ 16-20" when they went in.

Big stretchers - Nightmare Diesels about doubled, maybe a little more..

Moderate/not much stretchers - Raptures, from about 16-18" to about 24"

Non-stretchers - Old Grandad - Almost nil. Everything filled in quite nicely - solid skewers o' nerg. Not real girthy, but about 12" per. I think there are 5-7 tops on it..

Next time - Going to arrange the plants differently, for one. I need to maximize my vertical space here. Probably going to do two "rows," like a sort of colisseum-ish. Picture a "back row" (against the wall), raised up on a milk crate or something. In front of that, another "row" of plants, staggered in between the milk crates.

Picture the first two rows of a checkerboard, then imagine the back row raised up, the imagine the whole thing wrapped either in a cube, or a three-sided shape. The checkers themselves are the plants. Their squares would be the milk crates/cinder blocks/whatever (**This would also let me sneak a humidifier underneath a plant, so's to not take up any real estate with the humidifier's footprint)

(I may eliminate the current front row, in front of the door, or at least scale that down so's I can get in and better work/maneuver)

Also haven't ruled OUT the possibility of building just two levels, with shelves and all, with a row of ~ 24-30" plants on an upper and lower level.. In that scenario, I'd be putting more space between the two lamps. (So it'd essentially be two 400 W vert grows, stacked)

I'm going to pay some attention & love to the environment a little more than I have been. Going to pump humidity during veg & stretch.

Going to upgrade the blumat rez to probably a 32 gal Brute or something larger than I've got now. These bitches be drankin' late in flower. Don't really realize it when you're hand watering (other than it's a pain in the ass), but they're guzzlin' down the juice now.

Will push more veg nutes at beginning of flower.. Going to be adding glacial rock dust to the mix.. A little more bone, some blood I think..

Next run will be a little different - all from seed, with the exception of one (or two) Nightmare Diesel #1s. :D

howdy SH! ND looks gnarly!:woohoo:

hey did you use all the standard hoses and fittings with your blumats or did you change things?

Thanks Bonz!

For the blumat fittings, I did! And I've had no issues, .. I see some folks upgrade the manifold line to a larger diameter. I've not had any snags with the stock stuff..

Although, FWIW, my blumat setup isn't terribly adventurous or outside-the-box. :)

:thank you:

Thanks for the ND

See, this goes a long way in explaining why I don't have a nice camera. :shucks:
You get the extra style points in my book. I was thinking on similar lines as you with the crates then this big light went off in my head and said...

How about 3 or 4 gallon pots on crates in a circle with some of them cloth closepin bags a.k.a. cheapass airpots from Walmart hanging on the walls?

Looking good up in there silver hawaiian keep it rockin' hard and thanks for sharing!
