What's new

I've been doing ZERO runoff for 6 months. Complete Success.

32k in 2 diff rooms. No issues.

Feel free to ask me any questions. Runoff is highly overrated. Intelligent feeding seems to be the key.

We feed every other day at no more than 800-900ppm (1.6-1.8ec) and on Saturdays we always do a .4ec feed of CalMag only.

Drip Clean (Pekacid) with every feed. Always.

Fire away.....

Not unusual. Hundreds if not thousands of guys grow with no runoff using blumat drippers. You can do it with feeding everyday and no calmag feed once a week. Some don't even use dripclean. The only part of what you do that surprises me is feed/water every other day. I'm sure there is a line you can't cross in relation to container size and plant size. I have a 6' tall tree in a 2gal smartie that would croak without water/feed at least once a day. My last blumat grow I tested the runoff ec during the end flush after 8 weeks with no runoff. 3.0ec:nono: I got my buddy into coco last spring. For the hell of it he put a couple clones in 3 gal containers and gave them nothing but his well water for 10 weeks. 7.1 ph and less than 50ppm well water. They grew to 4 foot tall and looked awesome except they were pale green from not enough N. Coco is an amazing medium. I still think there is a line between what is possible and what is optimum.

yup been doing this for a long time now. if you get runoff, they are generally getting over watered.

what genetics are those? No offense... they don't look very good ... you could have benefited from run off for sure

This is what we call talking out of our assholes.

This is a Jamaican Landrace strain.

Cant really judge the quality of a strain until you smoke it or get up close

i don't understand what you're saying. you never had any water leave your media? i assume you alternate feedings? how do you water and feed all the time with no runoff and not get salt buildup? very low concentrations? organics?

also it would seem that using drip clean when you aren't getting runoff is redundant no?

drip clean is to wash through and remove the salt buildup right? if thew water never leaves then you aren't flushing anything out and thus no need for a flushing agent. not a diss or anything just trying to save you some $$

No stigh the dc brakes the salt build up down so you dont need run off.
the argument is when or if u need to ever do a flushing.
Catch up bro...jk

You're thinking DC is a flushing agent like Florakleen. It's not. I guess it can be, but that's not what the Israelis created it for.

Depends on medium and pots. I can guarantee that with Hempy buckets & coco, you will get a much better yield with run off, as each feeding/watering brings fresh oxygen to the root zone, and refreshes the reservoir with more oxygen. But, that's Hempy buckets.
