thnx bro, you are as well. you tolerated 4 attacks that were launched on you alone, mine have come as I've gotten between my dogs to break up their fighting which is Scooby's doing.

I know it broke your heart but had to be done for your own safety, most seriously. I don't fear an attack by Scooby on me otherwise.

I'm not going to over-analyze the situation or her intentions any more, when Alice hops up on the bed to rest she's very close to Scooby's kennel, I latch the door & Scooby's locked up, end of potential issue(s).

When I'm ready to open the kennel door Plan A is in effect, it's time for a meal, a biscuit or to go outside; I announce this to Scooby (not Alice) as I'm opening the latch and any resentment (if any, idk) for being locked up is gone immediately as biscuits/food/outside are her 3 favorite things and we have NEVER had issues between the girls during those activities.

no matter where this goes I can assure you that this is my last pitbull.

:)

I have been in this situation beforehand as well more than once and if not for the wife's frying pan I would have been seriously bitten with the last fight between the girls in our pack . I had to break up the same type of attack time after time , sadly other dogs in the pack will often jump in this fight and attack the underdog . This was the worst , having 3 jaws to contend with . In the end a muzzle was what kept Pepper around all these years until she aged and gave up this position in the pack ..

Scoob sounds just the same from everything I have read here .. Never let your guard down as you mentioned , sadly this obsession on the females part . Our Pepper is a brindle too and the brindle females from my experience are more quick tempered like red headed women lol - no offense to any gingers ;) Maybe its something in the recessive gene lol .

so in other news, I found a pillow wrapped in plastic, it was thin and I didn't recognize it right away, not my pillow; it was one of moms from the couch, a couch she shared with Alice & Kayla for several years.

Last night after I locked Scooby in her plush little kennel and then spread out the pillows out I invited Alice up to snuggle up for the night, she immediately focused in on the scent of that (Joe Boxer) pillow. Alice lifted her nose few times before plunging it in & and blowing hard to blend & test the scents. Alice was happy to find it filled with memories of mom in NY.

now she's sleeping in it comfortably And it, acts like it's a drug to her. Alices comfort level in the pillow is extreme. Now it's gonna be her mission which is ok.

Well first thing to expect is the possibility of a situation like this... never trust a pitbull not to fight ..... never have a apbt with a dog of same sex.... 2bitches aint a fun 3some.... n once one turns on n rips a dog they will do it again itll take nuthin n may happen at any random time ... as far as getting bit fuck scooby be in a hole if my arm looked like thay... S4L is a saint to let that pass.. the redirection would be unacceptable . but never stick ur hands in.. im not gonna get into detail bout how to safely seperate a dog fight but. tie one dog the aggressor off n go in the jaw with ya stick preparing to get outta reach of the biter...
But in general the apbt is the greatest dog imo there is no dog love like a pit... there willingness to please is unmatched n they will not think twice about there well being to keep ya happy... they just dont need doggie friends.... they need to be isolated from other dogs thats it.. n if they do see others be ready n prepared n stay calm hhandle ya business..

thnx stoney, I now realize that unrelated bitches can't mingle, at least not the pitbull, Alice is fine w/chicks as roommates; I owned Alice's mother Kayla & we kept a female pup from Alice's only litter, had to give that puppy away to a friend though because of my bad back.

anywayz, Scooby's aggression is based on her love/possessiveness of me and even more so the position of Alice in bed when the 3 of us would sleep together. that no longer happens and never will.

just 5 minutes or so before reading these new posts I had admonished Scooby and sternly told her to be NICE! to Alice, to LOVE! Alice; she was @ my feet when I told her that, she tried to break eye contact but I wouldn't let her do that, I turned her by her snout until she was again looking in my eyes. I repeated those demands again and she sheepishly turned & kenneled up on her own, not in defiance but instead it's guilt all over her face and posture.

she gets her snuggles & nap time with me daily while Alice is secured in the floor kennel, when Scooby's outside she can do or chase anything she wants on my property, instead she eyeballs both neighbors for a few minutes and then comes to settle @ my feet, devoted, protective and absolutely focused on me. I'm having a harder n' harder time justifying putting that love down.

Her 3rd strike if she bites me again will be excommunication, I'll build her a separate room, she'll never see Alice again, zero contact; Scooby would never go after me as a target, these bites on me are from me breaking up 2 fights, both in the dark when I was fast asleep.

if Alice were a 4 year old dog I'd think differently, but @ 12 years come December her days are somewhat numbered, perhaps she has years left, idk, I take exceptional care of my dogs, I pray she goes another 3-4 years in good health, but all of us dog lovers know, age related health issues can turn at any time.

~~~just ate my supper~~~
the girls each got about 2 tablespoons of minced chicken in mashed potatoes, along with their evening meds buried within, no competition for foods or treats in the house, never has been.
They give DOGS Prozac now? Unbelievable....
And I love animals.
idk for sure if it really does Scooby any good, but that was a 7 month span between assaults and so I'd be remiss to discontinue using it on her, it costs me $11 for a 2 month supply & it guarantees that there's a treat involved in hiding the pill, win win as they say.
for my supper I broiled a burger in an aluminum pan, lots of drippings and fat runoff.
for a midnight snack I gave the girls a bowl of kibble with that juice, plus some apple cider vinegar (urinary tract maintenance) and some canine skin & coat supplement and mixed it up real good.
they snarfed that concoction down like it was straight up filet mignon.
