A few things that I've learned about growing in coco with a drip systm DTW

Watering 1-2x per day or 3-4x per day really doesn't change anything a lot regarding nutrient strength, maybe just a little bit. I never go over 1.4EC and the majority of the time I'm feeding 1.0-1.2EC (including 0.4EC tap water) Every strain will be different and it can be tricky when growing multiple strains so it's best to keep it and the low side and listen to your plants.

I don't use a ton of supplements, but here's a list of what I do use.

Plant Magic A&B
Canna Mono Mg
Canna Mono Cal
Canna Trace Mix
H&G Drip Clean
Black Strap Molasses

For my next grow I'm considering dropping the Plant Magic A&B and going for Floranova Bloom, Floralicious, and Koolbloom powder. Anyone here use any of these nutrients?

Peace,
HGO

koolbloom a def yes for me slam in just like the old rezipe. I havent used floralicious and real interested to hear peoples input. I knew a couple people using the floranova bloom but landed up switching to something else.

Thank you so much HGO and all for this great thread. I recently started a coco grow in my 400W 2x4 tent; 3x TGA Jesus OG, 1x RP Confidential Cheese, 1x Girl Scout Cookies. They are still in veg, week 5 about from clone and I have been just hand watering. This thread definitely motivated me to set up a drip system (well, going to school full-time and working are their own motivations lol). I set up a real quick system with a 5 gallon reservoir that will need to be upgraded ASAP. Hopefully, I can start up a journal/thread here some time soon. Cheers all!

mistking timer

Ive heard about that mist king is that digital or does it have a dial. I don't like the dials cause u cant set them to the exact second and u can bump into them and change ur waterings pretty easily.

I use the drt 1 , from sentinel and love it. Set it to the exact seconds on and hours or minutes off digitally. Only thing I don't like is they use red digital lights instead of green for night cycles. I don't know why all digital manufacturers don't use green lights all the time . It would be nice for our industry.

Mistaking timers are digital and have 8 on and 8 off settings per day. It has a battery back up built in. It will go down to the second. Cost Bout $30.

Hello everyone :)
I have question for you HGO:
I will do scrog with 4 plants on 60cmx60cm area and i just want to ask for help in choice of pot sizes. What pot size do you reccomend for start(root developing) and then for veg and for flo? When i schould change it? I plan to get around 40-50g per plant with canna coco nutrients.
A big thanks for your opinnion!:)

4 or 6 lt max.

Start with solo cups or 4" square pots. get them well rooted and transplant up to around 4lt

Then id stay in those and water till good root development and they need to be watered daily or twice a day or they will dry out. After that u can water multiple times a day and they will rock.

1.2ec around 5.8ph with base nutrients is all u need. Especially with multiple waterings a day cause it just keeps ur nutrients at the correct amounts in the coco.

Hmm...i think 4 liters is too much, becouse HGO grow 9oz plants in 6,5 liters pots and my target is 2oz. This simple calculation gives me 2 liters, but it,s very small pot so i'm not sure. :) It's not too small? I dont want to get too big becouse i must multi feed them

This one was in 2 liter pot, handwatered. Yielded a bit less than 2oz, maybe 54 grams or something. I watered once a day, so for multiple watering it should be more than enough.

Is that a 2 ltr pot. I use those and consider them 1 gal, even though I thought they were probably .75 gal, im horrible with conversions but that is the pot size I would use if wanting to water multiple times in ur set up dzigs.

Hi, thanks for quick reply :)
Im thinking about 1 liter pot for start and root developing (probably 2 weeks?) and then put them into 2 liters pots. What do you think, how much water i need per 2 liter pot to feed 3 times a day and get a little runoff each time?
Regards :)
Btw beautifull plant

you have to try this by yourself, each coco have a little diff in water absorbtion, and so need diff volume of water to get runoff.

For exemple, with U grow i have easly runoff, with canna i need a little more water in the same container !

Nice work on that plant, DDD. She looks really tasty. Are you sure that's a 2L pot? I use what looks like the exact same pot and they are 3.5Ltrs, I love these pots for SOG.

Peace,
HGO

MiraculousMeds and Hundred Gram Oz

Seems like i remembered wrong, it seems to be listed at 3,5 liters at the growstores website. However i have almost excatly same sized pot, just a bit sturdier which is listed at 2,4 liters so I really dont know.

edit. Put plastic bag inside the pot and seems it can hold just 3 liters of water, then its less than 1cm of the top. So it seems to be 3 liter or a bit more.

Hey, this is very interesting stuff, I had to join the site just to get more informed.

I'm getting ready for my next setup and I'd like to try a couple different things to compare side by side in my greenhouse. (blackout force flowering for a June harvest).

Using this coco RTW method, in a 6.5L pot, how long do you usually veg, and what would you recommend as a maximum veg time? I know genetics play a roll in this, but what general numbers can you throw at me?

I'm sorry if this has been asked, or if I missed it, I admittedly didn't read all 30+ pages..

Thanks in advance, I'll be updating my profile and stuff. I'm excited to share and grow with you guys. :)

Slick, welcome to ICM and I'm happy that you've enjoyed the thread.

Few questions for ya before I can give you answers to your own questions. How much light are you running, how many plants per lamp are you planning on running, and which strain...indica, sativa, hybrid, etc? Once you know how many plant's your running per light and the genetics we can then tell ya how much veg you will need. When I grew vertical I had 6 plants per bulb and grew them to 18-20 inches before I put them into flower, the sativas I trained lots and flipped them at 18" but in my SOG grows I grow 25 plants per bulb and only veg them to 7-9" with well established roots before I flip. Plant numbers will dictate how much veg you give your ladies.

Cant finish

Cant finish

HGO, been following your thread for a while. Love it. Suprised your still at it. Over 500 posts. Wow!

I got me a problem (got many but one in particular) just cant get the girls to finish. Didnt used to be a problem in earlier grows. The ladies always gave brilliant displays of yellow when they were done and ready for me to harvest. But now they are staying green way past the estimated end dates and dont die.
I use Canna nutes and feed by their schedule. I water once a day (though I tried to start 3x a day recently and immediately 3 plants came up with burnt tips so Im confused and gun-shy) and had been feeding them every time. I usually live in a Sea of Green but its gotten out of hand. It has been suggested that I lower my Nitrogen and with Canna that means A (4-0-1 - not particularly onerous). I had a bad dose of Nitrogen toxicity in my last grow. Not sure what to do. I have switched from changing colors of leaves to more extensive trichome examination. But they just dont want to die.
Any ideas?
