looking good guys.. I might be joining the club too...no room for 600s or 1k they sit in a pile in storage,and cfl and t8 suck ass...lol.. are yall happy with bud density????

So far the buds seem to be packing in nicely. Definitely tighter nodes then cfl.
Took a taste the other night, and oooooooooooh my so tasty. Burnt to a white ash, fruity smooth flavors with a nice long leggy Sativa like high.

I am curious about bud density in finished product... they advertise high lumens like one model I seen was say 15k but adding up bulbs don't work that way.. if one bulb emits like say 5 k having three don't equal 15 k IMHO... I haven't never flowered with floro since I started long ago and even then I upgraded quick and used em for veg...back then any bud with resin was acceptable and welcome..times have changed and my standards have increased considerably..lol I also don't have to cop my seeds out of some random brown stuff.. I am torn between t5 ho and a small hid...my 600s and 1k sit in storage.. I am thinking a 4 ft 4 bulb setup that can be daisy chained .. buy one every other month for total of 3.. then have one on top and one on each side for smaller plants/ clones around 14 inches or so tall when done

yea this is my first time flowering under floros, so far been loving it. But my setup has alot to do with working with the environment i find myself in. Way hotter here than where i was previously in WA. At least its less humid here....mostly.

My Blue Dream and SFV are super dense I told a guy I grew it with a T5's and he didn't believe me thought it was HPS. I think the key is to have the different spectrum like half blue half red and you will get a nice end product. After adding up the electricity bill compared to what it was last time I ran a 600 I can add another 4 bulb and my bill would only be about $35 a month for 540 watts of T5.

Hey guys, can anyone tell me if this light would suffice for 2 plants in a 3x2x6ft grow tent? or if you have any better suggestions for under $200? Thanks

Yes, just as long as your plants fit in the 3'x2' 'footprint' of the light.
T5s do NOT bleed much light horizontally.
Also remember to keep the fixture at about 2-3"s off of the foliage.
And I'm not real sure that it's at all necessary to burn any tubes with lower than 5k s. I've been running high kelvin tubes for a year now and don't seem to have suffered noticeably.
FYI: Replacement tubes don't need to cost a fortune either. I've linked below to one such source. It's where I got my replacement tubes. I got the cheap ones.... by the case lot of 25 each.

I use 4' 8 tubes High Output HydroFarms T5s (around $200 delivered on Amazon, some hydro shops may match).... 3 gallon nursery pots.... 2 plants per run... volume of harvest is highly dependent on proper veg (fill the footprint), and of course is strain/pheno dependent as well. A rather light potting soil, and an organic nutrient, cal mag as needed and unsulphured molasses.
I'm Not a production grower. Personal, recreational growing only.

P.S.: I also use the 'big bulb' in the sky during the summer/fall. Don't have that figured out quite yet. Wish me luck.
I think am gonna try a 4 bulb setup prob next month and see what it does with a few clones..meanwhile I will be working on a 400hps setup
I don't have much room and irregular small spaces...I wish I could use my lights in storage..if I like the bloom under t5 then I will buy 3 total and daisy chain em...about 78 $ each ..not bad
Just guessing you won't like the results from blooming with 4 tubes. IIRC that's only 216 watts total, and 2500 lumens per square foot. Or is the footprint smaller as well? It may well be less than 2'.
A good experiment however, and I'll be looking to hear of your results.
I plan on putting in some small clones under the 4 bulb setup...t5 are 5k no matter how many you add..if I get density like I want I will add one light x4bulbs on each side like a grow tunnel...if not my veg area gets an upgrade lol...footprint will be what fits under light exactly with nothing at the ends of bulbs where light is weaker..i think the light is 12 3/4 wide so that's the grow width... small sog style clones...adding more bulbs don't make a 5k bulb get any brighter...if I had 8 bulbs putting a clone under would receive the same light right under it as a 4 bulb setup...adding more bulbs just makes grow area bigger it doesn't magically make that 5k bulb suddenly make more lumens...

You gonna post here or start a thread? I'd admire to watch the progress. It's always interesting to see how much a few changes will do.
first light will be here this week...meanwhile I am working on a 400 watt setup....if I deciede to sleep on couch I can get a few 600s rocking too in winter here....I just don't think 5k lumens will give good density but we will see...I got some sour bubble ready to go and have grown shitloads of it under 600s so I will be able to compare....
