RO. I don't even pH. I used to have to pH with MB. This is my first full run with jack's in flower, and the plants are a little greener than I would like, but this strain came out looking essentially the same last time but was even lighter in color with the MB. Other than color the nugs are essentially the same.

No additives, except maybe some molasses late in flower. I have played with pk boosts in past grows, powder KB, MOAB, but I seem to get the best results keeping things more consistent and at a low EC.

If you are serious about growing, drop the $150 on 25# bags and you won't regret it.
Is it just the jacks pro hydro and the pro cal nitrate? Thanks!

Does anyone know how the final flush leaching products work? I always figured at best they where something acidic that would help break down the salts.

ya, drip clean is not the right thing to flush with, but i do agree with you that it would more than likely not actually effect the final taste.

it depends on what flushing agent you are talking about. sulphur base breaks down the phosphorus and potassium, others are sugar water with some form of leeching agent.

I always thought it was something like that but the other day I was reading the mb ferts website
Versene mix: Edta Acids

When the versene mix is added to the MB GROW and BLOOM formula, and you added it to your feed reservoir, all the nutrients in the reservoir become chelated, and are instantly easier for the plant to absorb.

This is also the secret ingredient behind flushing formulas. Flushing formulas are marketed to be used at end of harvest to improve flavor like Final phase, Clearex, Royal Flush etc...

Made me think maybe they are using some kind of edta chelate. I don't understand how they could include that and not put it on the guaranteed analysis. I guess if its not actually a chelated element they might not have to disclose it?

Not saying there is anything wrong with edta, its just I would prefer to know it was there.

I know what you mean. I would love to know what exactly is in any of these nutrients.

A lot of times it's nothing, but sometimes it's definitely something and not always what we would suspect. If it is some kind of EDTA solution that would definitely be detrimental to biology if people where doing periodic flushes in soil with it.

BTW...my bro started a post titled "help this stoner out" where he basically killed these pretty little ladies and was asking for help. he was feeding an insane amount of nutes and additives that i think he really had no clue what the fuck he was doing. i took everything over and this is what they look like now. amazing difference lol

Third item on the left column says "Buy together and save!" $90 for a 25# bag of each, Jack's Hydro, and Cal/Nit. All you need. After shipping it comes closer to $150, so if you see anything else on the page that catches your eye, save on the shipping and buy it at the same time.

Cool I got ya. I saw that 150 was mentioned and noticed the combo was 90. Hefty price for shipping but I realize it's 50# being shipped. Thanks dude!

You use less compared to MB as well by ~1/3. 50# of MB will cost you at least $160 + shipping, unless your local shop can beat that price.

Sounds crazy to me to buy 50 lbs of fert unless you have run it first to try out. I've read all the threads on the net on Jacks and it has plenty of people who tried it and don't like it. I thought I might want to try it a few months back then backed off when I saw all the posts on mixing it up. A lot depends on your tap water but it can take 24hrs to mix a batch unless you use 180 degree water to start. This is from their website: For best results, use warm or hot water (180 F) to dissolve product.

I use RO water. I use a 35 gallon trash can to store my RO water. I have another 35 gallon tote I use to mix in, then I fill individual 18 gal toes for 1 or 2 trays each. Everything on float valves. It seemed to me Maxibloom took much longer to disolve, but still more work than some 6/9, but at ~1/4 the price as well! It grows my veggies as well. My bell peppers seem to be loving it, much bigger and more lucious than the neighbors!

:dance013:

EDIT: It seems crazy to me to spend $150 on nutes for 1 round, when I can buy 10x that with jacks alone, lol.

Come on man:biggrin: You can buy a couple smaller 4# pails of Jacks to try without buying huge 25 lb bags to see if you like the stuff first.:tiphat: and you're talking to the wrong guy if you think I spend $150 to do a run. My first run with MB cost me $15.58 for a bag of MB. This second run is cheaper as I had a couple gallon jugs of micro and bloom that was sitting in a cabinet for years since my last soil grow. I was going to try Jacks my first run until I saw the prices. Keep in mind I live waaaay up north in the USA.
2- 4# pails of fert+calnit $30+30+$60 shipping= $120
2-25# bags- $50+$50+$157 shipping= $257
Oh and MB takes me less than 1 minute to dissolve. I have THE TOOL, maybe you need THE TOOL for your Jacks:biggrin:

^ buying 4lb pails was a waste of money when I could have bought 5x the amount for 2x the cost.

I need no tool. Pumps aree on 24/7 to mix the nutrient bucket and deliver water to the next destination via float valve. I dump in the jacks part, come vack in a half hour and dump in the calnit. If you have a small grow that extra work may not be worth it but for my 6kw flower Im about to have going it definitepy makes watering a breeze, seeing as how all i do is dump part 1 in, then come back in a half hour and dump part 2, lol.

I know the ratio is 1 to 2/3 by Ec/weight. What does that that come to mixng gram per gallon for like 1.5 Ec. Or how are u mixing with it?
