Pure Sativa Greenhouse

Your greenhouse is very beautiful and inspiring, Bear Riot! I love what you're doing, keep it up. Good to hear they're becoming intimidating plants, sounds like an adventure :)

As for the cat problem, I'll suggest a new construction project (note the man on the right for scale):

That's a lot of carpet

BR,

maybe put up a trellis fence around the lower portion of the gh walls that is too high for them to jump and too unstable to climb. make it like climbing an obstacle course net wall for the cats. big fishing nets may work also.

Wow Bear! it's looking great. I know you probably need the cats around in some degree to keep the mouse population in check, but grrr! how long would it take to replace the plastic if you had to?

The solution might be to grow some catnip in your greenhouse and distract them with it! :)

I suppose we can expect to see some flowers starting October and going into damn near January with those hazes...

The plastic isnt expensive and isnt THAT hard to replace, so, no Im not building a greenhouse size cat castle. LOL!

Yeah Im thinking flowering will begin sometime around mid-july, and the Panama and Frost Monster will finish first, then the Diesel, then the Hazes will continue for another three months after that.

In my mind this thread shouldn't end but just sort of re-start/go on, after harvest there will be a break and then...again! (hopefully)

...but with different strains. Now I have not mentioned this BUT I am considering crowning an Ace Malawi male 'King of the Jungle' and making a few seeded buds on these. The Diesel is such a great keeper that I want to cross it in an all Indica-dominant seed run, which will include Original Blueberry, Cannabiogen Peyote Purple, and probably a few indica freebies that I have lying around...

Thanks for the suggestions with the cats, though. I think the best thing would be to put a little fence, but jeez

I'm surprised the panama and frost monster will beat the diesel. didn't know she took that long. looking forward to she show.

Yeah even though she basically has the structure/leaf/etc of an afghani, she crawls through flowering and the effect is very sativa for such an indica plant...profound mental shift with clarity and a slight but noticeable and enjoyable body load. You feel the effect in the head but its not 'active'. Her bud structure is looser than a pure indica but as you will hopefully see, much tighter than the true sativas.

Another thing to note is that dispensaries will sell NYCD as a sativa. Thats what bothers me about the business, they think its ok to be misleading because 90% of the customers wont know the difference.

lovely plants.......is there a reason you didnt go w/solid polycarbonate panels over the twin layer of poly? does the twin layer of poly w/forced air between make it easier to keep cool opposed to a gh w/solid polycarbonate panels?

The Oldtimer's Haze #2 could no longer be left alone. The stretch on the clones I have in flower has been roughly 6x...so you can imagine what that would look like, and this is my solution, in theory. Its working for now I guess.

The Panama on the upper deck is bushing up something fierce. Tasty basil too!

GD-72 and...more tasty basil! Purple basil and green zebra tomatoes, I smoke a bit of Haze and munch out on that, all self contained inside the house!

Thanks Bigherb. I'll post a couple of photos of some other crosses I have going outside.

This is Pakistan Chitral Kush x (Chocolope x Destroyer), the offspring of the sister of the Frost Monster. She smells like nutmeg with floral tones, with heavy chocolope melon candy scent mixed with some woody herbal destroyer tones. Lots of vigor and very likely to have the PCK purpling trait.

This another cross from the run that produced Frost Monster, Chocolope x C99. From the structure I am anticipating her to have the heavy chocolope yield, and the smell is almost all Chocolope. These crosses finish in about 9 weeks, and could fool most people in a blind test with any of the longer 14-24 week sativas that I have.

Here are some recent photos from the greenhouse. The Frost Monster has started to produce flowers. All along she has seemed like she is about to bud, but I pruned the lower growth to open up air underneath and to allow access to the soil surface, and that seemed to trigger her into full flower. I will do nothing except allow her to do exactly what she wants.
